Hello fellow Skodians. I hought I would start this thread, as there seems to be quite a few either taken ownership, placed orders or just thinking about getting the best ev out there.
So, any questions that someone may be able to answer, any good or bad dealings with dealers, specs wanted or received, perhaps someone could help others in their quest

Thanks for the replies. Having thought about it I think that the 85 non edition vs the 85 edition is a huge difference in spec. For just £300 more you would get a far superior car. I will wait and see what is there when I go to the dealer but if it’s a 85 non edition I think I will cancel and reorder. £300 and six months of waiting is a small price to pay. This is my first motability car and I’m worried about being stuck with something I regret

But you ordered the 80 with no packs, if you get an 85 non-edition you’d be getting what you ordered?? Why order a car that you don’t want?
January 21, 2024 at 12:19 pm #255909Because skoda have now massively reduced the cost of said packs.

I get the frustration, but ultimately irrelevant. If you ordered a car with no packs, you were clearly happy with that choice.

Not always the case. I suppose if the packs are expensive some people would select to skip them even though they would prove beneficial. Sometimes it’s not a case of being happy its a case of making do. If they come down in price to a level that someone now finds acceptable / affordable you could understand them wishing to make the change

Like I said, frustration. It shouldn’t be a valid reason to cancel an order once the car is at the dealers.-

January 21, 2024 at 1:36 pm #255917From looking at the Skoda build page if its an 85 it will be an Edition model. They are never going to build an 85 with 80 spec that’s just ludicrous . It will be in loft spec which still has all the upgraded features of the 85 range.

But the fact still remains that until you actually enter that pin then you have no contract with Motability. Whether you should cancel a car once its at the dealers is another matter entirely but ultimately in the current climate the dealer would be able to shift it very quickly

Not ludicrous at all. It’s exactly how Skoda intended the changeover models to be manufactured.
January 21, 2024 at 9:24 pm #255937We ordered an 80 and according to the dealer, the car at the exit port awaiting transport to us is an 85 Edition.
The AP for the base 80, when we ordered, was more than the 85 Edition is now and there is no base 85 model.

January 21, 2024 at 11:11 pm #255942So, if your Motability order has been converted to the 85 Edition and the current AP is less than your original order ask your dealer to resubmit the order and you can get the current AP.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!

This is starting to get stupidly repetitive.
Skoda have built 85 non edition base models to meet orders for 80 base models and have also built non X sportlines. They have already appeared on Skoda stock.
The fact you can’t go and order an 85 base isn’t relevant.

Just sharing the fact that the automated update from Skoda for my order says 85 Edition.
If it isn’t I will be unhappy, as I could have re-ordered in October.
January 22, 2024 at 11:46 am #255968When you look on Skoda’s stock locator, there are quite a few cars that just say “Škoda Enyaq
85 82 kWh 210 kW Single speed” however, when you click on them to look, it says interior Loft or whatever.January 23, 2024 at 7:42 pm #256072So I only came across this forum a few days ago after being totally obsessed at looking at every review and site that talks about the Enyaq 80 Sportline plus while I wait very impatiently for mine. ??♀️
From doing that I discovered that whilst most people loved the Enyaq, that there had been issues with it, mainly with the infotainment system, so when I saw there was a new and upgraded model 85 coming out which irons out man if these issues, I am ashamed to say that I couldn’t help feeling a tad annoyed and wishing I could have the newer model.
I noticed on here that a number of people were being upgraded from the 80/80x to the 85/85x so I obviously had to call the dealer today and wanted to update you what I was told.
I ordered an 80 Sportline plus on 12th October and my car is now in the UK awaiting delivery to the dealer.
The dealer took a look on his system and could see that whilst the order still stated the 80, that the manufacturer details is saying an 85 Sportline plus has been built!!
He did say he didn’t want to confirm it officially to me until he could see it in person, but that he was fairly confident that it was an 85!! I am so chuffed and cannot wait for the handover! ?
Just to add that my motability account is still showing the 80, so assume this will change in the coming days or on collection.
I hope this helps some others who are keen to know what they might be getting, but it does look like any 80’s ordered before 31st October but built after November will have the upgrade!!!
I will confirm exactly what I get hopefully next week, fingers crossed!! ?

Some of us ordered before you and already have 85,s so it’s pretty sure thing it’s an 85.
Don’t worry about what the motability order says as mine didn’t change until I asked them to all the way up to days before delivery.
It only got changed as I asked the dealer to resubmit for an AP change.

100% an 85. Everything manufactured after week 44 2023 is an 85. If you ordered an 80 (non-X) then your Motability account won’t change as there is no equivalent on Motability/Skoda. It’s only the 80x orders that will change to 85x.January 24, 2024 at 4:55 pm #256153This might sound silly and I am sure I know the answer, but if they are now 85’s does this mean they have all the new upgrades and software 4 too?

Yes, exactly that.
January 25, 2024 at 11:15 pm #256326Hi
Could somone please tell me the real range (ish) of the 85x ?
I have read (phedra) saying 85x owners are having range issues
Could somone enlighten me on how bad this is.
As I regularly to a 240mile round trip 4 adults and baggage.
Thank you
January 26, 2024 at 12:01 am #256328Don’t remember saying anything about range issues, all EV batteries drop their range in winter/colder weather. I charged my 80x to about 94% last night and predicted range by the “guessometer” this morning said 272 miles.
Having driven about 30-40 miles today it now says 77% and 221 miles range. At a guess I’d say I was realistically getting about 220-24o miles on a charge but I’m still learning how to drive it. This morning on a 50mph dual carriageway I was getting 4.4 miles per kWh which is pretty good, later in the day on faster roads or in start/stop traffic it varied between 2.2 and 3.4.
As examples, I do two regular trips, one to Durham and back, about 5 miles each way, about 1/4 on a 60mph A road the rest on 30mph town roads with traffic lights etc. the guessometer said I’d used 12 miles.
Second trip is to my daughters, about 9 miles each way, mainly a quiet 50mph dual carriageway and 60mph A road followed by a bit of 30mph inner city. Last trip guessomenter said I’d used 11 miles.
Not many EV’s will do a 240 mile trip fully loaded in winter, in summer the 85x range should be nearer 300 or more with careful driving, like all cars flooring it will increase fuel consumption, driving smoothly will decrease it be it petrol, diesel or electrons.
Please excuse spelling/typos. Apart from being a clot it turns out I had one on my cerebellum that's now causing various problems!
January 26, 2024 at 3:13 am #256332I was getting 160 or so in my ZS EV driving about locally and about 110 motorway, cold, rain with heater on and that was a 3 year old car with older tech and smaller battery.
The 85 series should do 250 min this time of year once you get used to driving an ev

I’ve got the 85x and a full charge to 100% give a trip reading of 255 miles.
That’s mixed driving and the occasional heavy acceleration from traffic lights, you’ll know why if you get one.
January 26, 2024 at 8:19 pm #256436There are no range issues if you stop looking at an EV as you look at ICE cars.
On ICE cars, you fill the tank up, drive until liw then fill up again.
With evs, especially uf you have a hone charger, you drive, then charge at night, on long journeys you plan you comfort breaks with charging.
ABC Always Be Charging is the mantra

Range would be one of if not the most important thing for me going BEV. There is one location I can charge on my most common long journey. If that out of order I’ll have to rely on 7kW chargers to add a decent amount of charge. Time is precious and I haven’t got all day.
The other option is divert 70 miles each way to the nearest motorway, which to me is both silly and pointless.
