It’s a catch 22 who know’s when and at what ap the Kia Sportage will come back on the scheme if it ever will.. Whatever it is it you order it should fit your needs, you could ask to extend your 3 lease to 5 years and at anytime order a car, there are some though, who already done that and have been told to order something asap and likewise with them they said nothing was suitable or the ap was to high for them. What do you do? A compromise may have to be made. Personally i went for a car over an suv the last two times on affordability and the truth is i have issues with both getting in and out of all cars, but i do find in my current car once i am in, it’s less painful driving it than an suv. what do you curently have? and what are you basic requirement, for me thats adaptive cruise control also, that’s made a huge difference for me driving.
I currently am driving a Kia Rio manual at the time it was fine but in all honesty I am now struggling with the manual Transmission. So automatic is very important on our next car. With all the safety features.
I went to the third KIA dealership today (trying to compare colour options, as they look much different to online) and was told that the automatics and hybrids have a long wait and “you’ll be looking at September”. I said that this is much shorter than I expected, what I’d read and what I was told at other dealerships. He said “I’m pretty certain that it’s September for hybrids”. I caught up with him again inside his office and asked to arrange a test drive. My wife asked again about delivery times. I think he realised how sceptical we were, so he took us to the sales team’s bulleting board and checked. It did indeed state September on the paperwork. The only thing is I didn’t see how recently this paperwork had been printed. I even asked if Motability customers are likely to have longer waits and he said there’s no difference in wait times. I’m still very sceptical with any vehicle being available that quickly.
<p style=”text-align: left;”>Well Gliders that most definitely sounds reasurring. I ordered on the 1st of April and I was also told September I’m guessing that it’s still in the same batch of order’s maybe? If that’s sense haha.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>
I just ordered my Kia sportage 1.6 hev GT-line S trim today and dealer give me estimated delivery time for first half of January..
Damn! That is a long wait! But I bet it will be worth the wait. I’ve watched and read so many review’s the wife has had enough of hearing the word Sportage ?
It looks fantastic.
Does the uk version offer the choice of lighter cream interior?Seen few utube vids from other countries showin lighter interior.Looks really nice.
Unfortunately not paul!
The cream one does look good and it is a shame but they do not have any interior options in the UK model
?????
Love this!
April 16, 2022 at 10:33 am in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #182797Motability were annoying because the dealer originally promised it would be here by the middle of August latest, and since I’ve forked out a grand for it and they’ve installed the charger this early, they found it unfair and have contacted other dealers to see if there’s any others within a certain area to me.
There is absolutely 0 chance you will find another one anywhere near you. Just like fwippers said Hyundai are quoting 9 to 10 month’s. Your dealer should really take all the blame but they can’t do anything about it they are just the dealer. Shame on them for overselling to you. And I wasn’t gas lighting you my friend. I was just telling you the reality of the situation that everyone is in!
April 16, 2022 at 9:49 am in reply to: The kona electric delivery time thread and general Kona EV discussion #182793<p style=”text-align: left;”>Unsure if anyone could help, as my dealer can’t, probably for legal stuff.
Hyundai also won’t, their online chat just pushes me to my dealership. I ordered the car at the start of march, ultimate, green. I know some are getting theirs as soon as 2 months, some 6 months. Premiums being delivered much quicker. Dealer originally said end of July, August latest and shown proof of this but delivery has now changed to November which is very unfair imo after showing “quoted dates” from hyundai. What sort of time should I actually expect this? November really isn’t a great time to get an EV for learning to use all the stuff on board with the weather being how is then. I’m also going away for a week in September so would ideally want it then but yeah. Is there a way to contact hyundai directly? Motability are pretty annoyed with the dealer about this too.
Erm. In all honesty why would motabilty be annoyed? There are people on here that have been wait 15 months for a car. One gentleman on here has been waiting for his Nissan qashqui since October last year. He was told April and now he has been told July. These delays in this climate are inevitable. When did you even order the car? You should consider yourself lucky if you are only waiting 6 to 9 months In all honesty.
Thank you for the detailed review! I agree about the parking feature. The ev6 parka itself in spots I don’t understand why they didn’t implement this feature in to the Sportage.
If ordered this week, the specialist stated a December arrival after I had a 1hr test drive in a Sportage GT-Line S HEV this morning.
Nice!
How did you find the test drive? Did you check the mpg? Curious that’s all haha
<p style=”text-align: left;”>Good luck David! Hope to see some Photos soon ;)

What’s your Ap,so guys ? Any extras ?
Well on the Kia’s you don’t really have “extras” per say it’s just mostly have colour changes and accessories (like footmats and bootmats).
My ap was 3999 plus 150 for the two tone premium paint.
I’m so tempted with this car, but the mpg on motorway is quite poor. Also not sure if my interest is mostly due to it being one of the best cars on Motablity at the moment, rather than it being one of the best cars for the money if I was a private buyer.
Well I can tell you now out of the 20 odd cars I’ve test driven in the last 3 years (including xc40 and cla) I can tell you this one is the best of the lot interms of comfort for me. It has an absolutely wonderful spec sheet and looks beautiful. You are correct about the motorway even the dealer told me the same thing but you can get the Sportage mild hybrid diesel which would be good for that sort of journey.
Oooh tom! Not that long bet you are very excited. What colour did you go for? And be sure to post pics!!!
