I did the same with the Mini key, each to ther own and all that but I found  the circle ⭕️ design like a Jaffa Cake , not cool one bit. So I already had 2 rectangle covers from AliExpress ready to fit. Some people might think, what’s the fuss it’s only a key… but to lots of us it’s def a lot more than just a key it seems 🤪

Yes that seems strange about not being allowed to add options/packs. Maybe he made a mistake , maybe that particular dealer doesn’t do that incase someone cancels and they’ve got a car sitting there with some added options.

as far as the privacy glass I would worry as it’s never dark enough and go to your local window tint company and it shouldn’t be more than £200

allnmy cars including my current JCW came with privacy glass but I’ve always paid a firm to add a dark tint

It might have been discussed or mentioned before but I remember flicking channels a few weeks ago on budget day and just caught the… cough cough “chancellor”s swipe at MB which only lasted about 1 minute but it contained a part that went something along the lines of…
It wasn’t set up so people could go along and pick up the keys to their new Mercedes Benz

Followed by a lot of MP’s Shouting, Cheering & Stamping Feet

So wrong on so many levels, to me a clear indication of desperately looking for votes regardless of the division and ramifications it would cause

If you can turn 1 very large group of Voters ie The Working Class against a much smaller group Us aka Motability Customers and create a narrative of unfairness that we are used to seeing from the Daily Mail then there’s a good chance a lot of that big group of people who are unhappy and looking to blame someone are gonna vote for you

Deflect Deflect Deflect and we’re an easy target.

Not a lot suprises me these days, but that was very very poor.

MB and its customers are not the reason this Country is in the state it’s in.

Coupe, Convertible and the Big 3 German Brands all of a sudden dirty words, but if you can afford the AP you can drive away in car worth well over £50k but no basic Audi A1 that’s worth half that 🤦🏻‍♂️

they talk about banning social media for under 16’s. I think they should ban it for over 18s So we can all go back to a time of common sense, respect, morality and not giving a care in the world what anyone else thinks

if it doesn’t affect you then keep your mouth shut

Thanks guys I appreciate those responses, I had always thought that after this current car F56 JCW I would go to back to that trusty old Tiguan or explore and maybe look at some Hyundai/Kia as they look interesting 🧐. It’s only when I saw the new JCW appear I thought I’d find out more. It’s not that much of a big deal if I can’t make it work for me. I love the current car I have , it’s very quirky you’ll either love it or hate it.

if anything relevant pops up I’ll post it on here

Shame things on MB aren’t as rosey now as they once were , but i guess that’s more of a countrywide issue rather than a specific MB one

Oh believe me Ive built about 6 different JCW’s already

im not sure if yous remember the options available 3 years ago? I can barely remember what I had for dinner last night lol

so my model F56 came with a lot of kit as you can imagine, the 2 trim levels available were Premium & Premium Plus. Which are now called  Class 2 & Class 3 those packs are still the same price

If i remember correctly the JCW  Advance Payment including  The Premium Pack was £3000

With the Premium Plus Pack it was £3500

it was fantastic value getting a pack worth £3800 for £500

so that’s all I was looking to find out

the dealer came back to me this evening and at this this time they are only offering 1 JCW configuration and that with Level 1

to me that’s disappointing, even though as standard it comes with good kit I like the toys and things to figure out that others don’t like

i could live with level 2 but I’m not prepared to pay the best part of £5.5k

as we know with Motability the cars and offers can change quickly and not just every quarter.

its one of those MB dilemmas do you wait and see if they ad on a more attractive package and run the risk of it dropping off completely.

atleast for today im happy to wait it out. But ill be checking that Motability website daily 🤣

I didn’t know the grants team had anything to do with that, I thought they were for New Cars only, so this is great thanks. That’s the road I’ll go down next month

 

just out of curiosity

the New Mini F66 JCW is on the scheme , new version of my current car

mini have renamed their trim levels, Used to be Premium & Premium Plus , but now it’s called Class 1,2 and 3

all the other minis on the MB website have the Class listed but the JCW doesn’t, I asked MB they couldn’t tell me 🤣. Has anyone looked into this car and know the answer?

Haha , that’s what I thought but didn’t want to assume that just in case there was a secret button that cleaned the reverse camera or another part of the car

But you’re spot on, it gets dirty sooooo easy eh? Every time I go a decent run it comes home looking like I’ve sneaked onto some rally stage!

But the cars there to be enjoyed and driven so well just need to deal with it ha

Sometimes if I’ve had a lousy week and barely looked at the car let alone driven it I forget how enjoyable it is behind the wheel – So its nice when I sometimes find myself starting to smile like a right wally after a few mins of driving

I have a small one bed flat but the walls are that thick I’m certain I’d be safe from a direct hit of a nuclear missile ?

i reluctantly switched to VM nearly 2 years ago and I’ve had the usual problems of it dropping regularly , They sent me 3 of those Wi-Fi pods ( one for each important room )  as pretty much everything here is connected , usual stuff  Alarm, Hive, ring door bell , bPhilips Hue , TV’s PS5 and plenty of other devices and so on but with upgrading my cctv on the outside about 6 months ago the Wi-Fi was becoming more unstable with drop outs were getting more frequent

So I bought a mesh system and I initially noticed a slight improvement but then it quickly got worse than ever , so much so I couldn’t play the PS5 because it would drop all the the time only for 20 secs or so but that disconnect from the current online game and was starting to miss ring door bell notifications

so I sent the mesh system back and bought a more expensive one on prime day

I reset the full VM system back to factory defaults and set up the new mesh wifi system and holy moly it’s the best I’ve ever saw it

Since July it’s not dropped once and the speeds are amazing

I have the 1gb plan with Virgin Media

on my phone I have saw speeds of up to 800 mbs , and on the PS5 which is connected directly by Ethernet over 900 mbs upload speeds on all devices are steady at 105 mbs

Ive just had a look at the system I bought and it’s on sale then now , I’ll attach the link

my own personal experience of those pods is they are not much more than decoration that take on the space of 2 plugs

but this mesh system is fantastic

I’ve just checked and I’ve currently got 23 devices connected just now including Eufy 4k cameras on my outside walls and I can stream the live feed seamlessly

I always change  my WiFi networks name and password , but once I had reset it the system goes back to the default log in details , but once I  changed it back to my personalised one all the devices rember it and log in automatically

so I’d def go down the reset procedure first before you set up the WiFi pods to hopefully get rid of any gremlins in the system

So since ordering the Mini I’ve been watching tonnes of videos and I saw that caught me eye and it was a guy drying his car with a leaf blower

That got me thinking ?

So after some investigation I discovered this was an actual thing and some folks used those big blowers for drying dogs etc , those ones have to be plugged into the mains and I couldn’t be annoyed with more cables to trip over

As I have a few Bosch Pro tools and batteries I figured I’d give this little thing a bash , quite light in the hand , no cables and easy for me to balance whilst holding my crutch

It Did work and it was fun and games for about 27 mins blowing the little heads of water around until both shoulders felt like I’d been hanging from Monkey Bars ( remember them ) for hours on end

I was convinced the principle was sound I just needed a little more oomph!

By luck Bosch had just released a brand new model, something much bigger and more powerful , If the Terminator was a gardener this looks like the one he’d use ?

The power is unreal with a scroll wheel to easily control the power from a breeze to a Hurricane in your hand! –

If  still use a skateboard I swear I could use this blower to get me to the shops and back lol

My own little Tesla Skateboard ?

I bought a couple of straps from Amazon and a few fasteners and came up with a system that’s super comfy and balanced

So there’s no strain on my shoulders and when no one is looking I can pretend I’m Big Arnie

The water just disappears! And it would even better if I had a proper ceramic coating

Although I’d never hold the blower near the ground where it could suck up a bit of grit or stone I’ve attached a filter to the blower just to be 100% sure I won’t sandblast the car ??‍♂️?

it honestly works a treat with no risk of swirl marks or scratches when drying it

anyone else use something similar?

that’s it there mate, I had ordered it before collecting the car and got a bit lazy when it came to fitting it but after inspecting the paint work after only 2 weeks I could see exactly where the damage would be if I didn’t bother. So I quickly cleaned it all and installed and now 3 months later it’s perfect ??

One min you have one of the newest cars on the road then you start to see the 73 plates appear ??

I thing I can give you advice on is to get that PPF for the well known Mini F56 model issue with the paint marking up and ultimately rusting if not treated.

it’s so easy to install yourself with hot soapy water , just 1 little section on the frame ( on each side ) when the door closes it only takes a couple of weeks to start damaging the paint

this clear thin plastic prevents that happening and keeps the car looking magic

Yeah that’s exactly what I thought, when I first saw it I thought oh that’s pretty cool but the more I looked into it the more I didn’t like the way it was done

the red at the front fine , the black at the back fine but the fade section was too big and I think ruined a very good idea

but that’s only my take on it lol

it’s a lot of money too, and with the sunroof there’s not a lot of metal left to paint

So for what it’s worth I think you’ve made the right call ??
