15C and misty as hell. Promised to be quite bright and 20C-ish when the mist burns off.
@Brydo Will be delighted to supply pix of pots – when they come into flower. All still in the “promising” stages at the moment. Will hunt around to see if I have any from last year…The secret with pots, boxes etc., is threefold:
1. Water the buggers, regularly; unlike flower beds, they get virtually no moisture from rain.
2. Feed them as well, once a week
3. Deadhead them regularly to get even more blooms
Started dull, grey and chilly. But 15C soon became 20C, skies cleared and we’ve had a good, early Summer day. Much watering called for – we’ve got over 50 pots, basket and window boxes. Ran out of time to finish the mowing, mañana…
15C wet, windy and grey. Forecast to improve around lunchtime. Next couple of days also said to be better.
Varying between clear/bright and cloudy/dull. 20C at the moment. Reckon it will clear up a bit (as per Met Office) so hopefully I’ll get a chance to mow the lawns – a long-overdue task.
Grey, windy and doing about 18C. Forecast to start heavy rain about 1pm – the exact time we’d booked a garden bloke to do some heavyweight trimming to big shrubs.
Cloudy this morning; cleared now and doing 20C.Again, very strong winds.
The (measured) 20C is way off the forecast (14C). Think I’ve worked out why: we are just under half a mile inland from the sea; the Met Office weather station is a quarter mile out to sea (on end of pier). I reckon being that far out on the oggin is going to give more severe temperatures and winds reading.
Some cloud; some sun; been 20C from mid morning. Windy as hell though.
Grey, wet, no sun, cold (14C), feeling colder because of strong SW wind coming in from the Atlantic. Tipped it down overnight, now moderated to aggressive drizzle.
12C at the moment. Completely clear and bright; should make around 20C like yesterday. Expected to cloud up a bit later on, again, like yesterday.
Grey, wet, forecast to get wetter p.m.
Much the same here @Brydo Temperature now 21C. Very pleasant – afternoon will be spent planting window boxes and the like.
15C, allegedly heading for 19C. Heavy overcast but dry. Forecast to clear by mid afternoon.
15C right now. Some cloud, clearing. Will get warmer what with the lighter winds and all. Max temperature forecasts are all over the shop: BBC says 19C; Met Office has 16C.
Started at 9C at about 7am. Now doing 22C and been bright and clear all day.
Normally get ours from local farm charity centre – not a lot of use for you, @Menorca Mike unless you live near Worthing. However, have in the past also bought online from YouGarden and quality has been pretty good. Be aware, though, that they do not send out until the baskets are well established and you may have a wait.
10C at the moment. Pretty heavy cloud cover. Chilly, in contrast to yesterday’s 25C in afternoon. Forecast to clear by midday and head for a less than scorching 18C. Next few days could be better – Met Office site shows unobstructed little yellow sun for next six days.
Having waited some 18 months for (non-urgent) operation to my hand, I finally got the op’ done at Southlands hospital – a satellite, “cottage hospital” of Worthing Hospital in Sussex. It was like going back in time some 40 years or more – to a place where the NHS and its staff were friendly, helpful, knew what they were doing and genuinely cared about patients. I didn’t have to ask for a wheelchair to get around in the hospital, it just arrived, all the staff were friendly and helpful. They even smiled!!
Even though the operation was a very minor affair, I had to be given the full operating theatre procedure, with six theatre staff looking after me, and my vital signs. All completely on the ball. After the procedure, a welcome, reviving cuppa arrived as if by magic. Brilliant, marvellous service.
Had to go back to Worthing to have stitches removed. All back to normal again… scowling, grumpy staff, just wanting to get boxes ticked and me out of the way. (Not the consultant/surgeon who was there to do a proper, helpful post-operation assessment – first time I have ever had one!)
Bright, clear, 12C at present. Forecast 22C which will mean about 24/25 in back garden. Tomorrow not looking so good – a mere 18C max. Hmmmm
Same as you @kezo Similar yesterday – maxed at 22C, clouded up mid evening and chucked it down around 10pm and overnight too. Forecast to brighten up later today, then bright, clear and hot for the next few days.
11C right now. Wonderful clear sky, seriously sunny. Forecast to get near 21C or maybe more. Happy bunnies!
Chilly start – 10C right now. Clear sky and promising to get warmer (17C-ish). Generally warming up over next few days, heading for low 20s.
Same as, 10C, cloudy etc. Moreover, regardless of what the forecasts say, this north-easterly wind is a malicious brute. Gusts to 25mph making it feel cooler AND can change from a beautiful clear sky to nasty wettish overcast in a couple of minutes.
Cloudy but bright; 10C right now. Headed for a forecast 17C. Alleged lighter winds have yet to make themselves felt, so it’ll feel cooler. Promise that Mediterranean flavour to weather will return over weekend. One lives in hope…
Bright, clear and chilly… 7C right now. Forecast says it’ll cloud up a bit p.m. and might make 15C. Won’t feel like it, though, with a cold and strong north-easterly wind.
