I think it looks good on the grill, I’m not keen of the side and rear trims, are they selectable or is there no choice?

There’s a lot of discussion on the various Skoda,VW and Audi forums about the quality with some saying it’s great, some not much of an improvement over the standard system and others saying it’s really poor. As an audio engineer in a past life, I worked for NEAL Ferrograph, I know what a decent system should sound like. I’ve had upgraded systems in previous cars and this is not one of the better ones. Fitting a subwoofer inside a plastic box, then burying it in a close fitting metal well with nowhere for the sound to escape and covering it with a thick sound deadening polystyrene box and a boot mat is a really bad design. Putting it in one of the side recess’s in the boot or under a seat would give it a much better chance of being heard. Even on +9 the front door speakers almost completely drown it out.

Are you any further on the refund/compensation?

it does seem silly to bury the sub away with sound deadening materials around the enclosure.

Facelifts will happen year on year, solving a few common issues and creating a need for previous owners to renew/update. We, as Motability customers will have a different outlook as we are dependent upon what is available on the scheme at time of renewal. Whether it’s an upgrade of the current car or something completely different tends to be determined by availability and price, as well as the experience with the dealer over the past 36 months. Personally, I’m happy with the MY24 I have even without the rear wiper.

I am really glad you are enjoying your I5 I have been following your journey and when I order mine I’m going for the same colour its so so nice, please keep us updated especially form a range POV.

This is the first facelift the I5 will get, Its not just a MY update where there would be additions or trim changes.

It’s a substantial update, with the larger battery, revised motors, suspension updates and vehicle OS system rear wiper, these changes alone are major for the I5 the cosmetic changes for the interior trim and exterior bumpers are minor to what’s happening, its been a much needed update for the vehicle.

We have been able to order since September but I knew the update was coming so we have held off, the change over is now and vehicles are available to be ordered now in Korea, the UK spec will be finalised for May, but anything that’s already on order but not yet built will automatically be upgraded (hopefully not like the Enyaq fiasco).

We are placing our order the end of the month

            Happy motoring.

UK deliveries from Q4 this year, Summer for USA and Oz markets available to order now in S Korea

I suspect the UK announcement this month. Dealers already quoting 9-12 for orders here for new Ioniq 5 order I suspect this is due to the facelift.

It’s quite a substantial facelift over and above the cosmetic changes.

I don’t like the blue trims on it

it would be better colour coded to match

Strange, what I saw in the dealership was a receipt?!

Not strange at all, I’ve explained what you see in the dealership is not what motability pay.

some people will be given a sales order or a new vehicle invoice, but that’s just an internal document

How do they have less profit? I see on the receipt that motability pay full price which is likely more than many retail buyers.

Motability pay heavily discounted prices for the vehicles.

what you see in the dealership is not what motability pays.

                      Which Mobility Car Forum

Hi Tam, the question was why, as it doesn’t cost bmw any more for motability customers to receive the same offer, should motability customers not be eligible for the bmw credit charge card. As you will see from a post on the motability forum, this member has received the £750 credit charge card from the dealer. Bear in mind that the fitting of a home charger does not cost bmw , as it is covered by motability; yasir247Participant Hi all, ordered i M sport in Portimao blue with the pro pack.. dealer has said as I don’t want a home charger I’d receive £750 credit for public charging (first elec car) has anyone else heard of this?

It does not really matter why, its just up to them, many manufactures will run campaigns targeting different types of customers, Retail sales provide the largest profits, as motability and other fleet schemes will have less profit per vehicle, that’s “why” I suspect its limited to retail sales

The free home charger or £750 credit is for retail sales only

The free charger is paid by motability for notability customers only (its only done once)

Dealerships are individual businesses and they set which criteria for tests drives,

some will require to be accompanied by an employee due to insurance purposes, other may just decide that’s how they operate, some will be more flexible

if you don’t like the test drive conditions offered simply  visit another dealer, we all have a choice

its bananas, someone has actually had to do this

there are some they have put in completely different categories from which the manufacturer states they are. but last week they were in the correct categories

I think someone in Motability IT dept is very mischievous
