I have just been discussing the number of vehicles on the scheme, We are so lucky we had delivery of our Ford Focus ACTIVE-X back in Oct 21, Waited 3mths for it and boy do we feel lucky paying I think £695ap.
Don’t think it’s on the scheme now and fully loaded as ours’s is I think the panoramic roof is now a £900 option, My concern is something going wrong with it with so much technology in it with regard to chips or a module going down could result in the car sat at the dealers for ‘x’ amount of time. Front parking sensors keep going off and nothing on them not mucky so possible issue arising.
Who knows what’s going to happen, I think their will be a decline in folk on the scheme simply down to economics across the board with prioritising where they need to spend their money with household bills rising. Folk are going to be looking at a lot more than what you get for your allowance each month and some will be questioning do I really need the car or am I going to have to adjust accordingly.
A little more positivity into where they could help more or temporary relaxing of some rules rather than just a PR scripted we have to put a response out which to be fair helps or advises nobody currently on the scheme, I don’t personally see anymore has been added from the CEO than customers already didn’t know before he put it out there.
Jojoe, there was a review of the scheme two or three years ago with a number of recommendations to improve it, most have been ignored. Without someone at Ministerial level to drive change, any new review will unfortunately end up like the last one.
Which is why if the scheme does not get reviewed internally it will crumble, I suspect only when the figures decline into serious numbers exiting the scheme will anything be looked at but by then it’s too late for the general folk who rely on the scheme.
Just had this with Skoda Octavia with regard to the ‘ap’ going down £200, Enquired with the dealer and they said as its gone through that’s the price, called motability who said to call dealer but said your under no obligation to take the car even though we have the pin.
Dealer contacted and advised again sorry that’s the price, So told them to cancel order and within half hour it’s been reduced, saving a saving.
Will you get charged for going over 60k with all things considered?
Many Thanks all appreciate all the advice.
Regarding enquiring for a grant @joss i thought you could only get this with regard to hoist’s or adaptions and not apply simply because you cannot afford the ap? If you can do this definitely an area to look into.
With regard to the Peugeot/Citroen it was more in regard to models of the Zafira size, I understand engines and possibly the floor plan are as per other Peugeot/Citroen models it was more interior/dash layout we prefer on the Vauxhall side. Although nothings ruled out if it can accommodate our Son’s needs.
With leases being extended, If you were close to the 60k mileage limit and within the next 6mths of the lease you went over 60k would you be liable for the excess mileage?
many thanks.
Sorry to hijack..were getting our new car on monday and handing the current one back early..getting the AP back..how long does this take to get issued?
