I agree completely. Motability keep putting up good cars at trims which as just not desirable which is extremely unfortunate for motab customers, especially since the price difference is often not significant and many are happy to take it in the AP. e.g. the eDrive 35 instead of the eDrive 4o – range is so so so important, the 4o would have much more interest

@Rich44 is right. Motability is extremely profitable. You guys make them a LOT of money – you can demand from them what you’d like

If so, I reckon the cap is around 330. Just a wild non-informed guess however, I have no insider knowledge.

@des it wouldn’t be unheard of for the byd seal to join the scheme in the rwd 5.9s variant.
I think the bmw i4 edrive 35 is currently the quickest vehicle on the scheme. It’s got a claimed 0-60 of 6s but bmw are notorious for giving overestimations and real life tests show it’s more 5.6.

i hope the byd seal joins

@AKX I hope you enjoy! The laser lights in my opinion make the car look so much more aesthetic, and even though it is just a minor design change to the front, the blue highlights really make the car look beautiful (alongside the obvious better performance). To other posters, I also believe there will not be an LCI until June/July 24, but the point being made is that the order queue is now well into that territory for those making orders recently, so motability should be evaluating what is going to be done. The fact that motability and BMW actually reintroduced the car onto the scheme whilst build dates were already into summer 24 makes me assume both parties are happy to approve the LCI for motab customers – but hey, I’m just assuming common sense and that they have things thought out – which is a big assumption these days!

@AKX this is impossible as if an LCI starts production the outgoing model is no longer produced – so you cannot receive the current model unless it had already been built – and there is no reservoir of prebuilt cars.

I believe if an LCI begins production motability customers will either get the LCI or orders will be cancelled.

One thing Tesla do right though is getting the car to the customer. They have a recent radical facelift of the ever popular Tesla model 3. No doubt will be very popular + high demand right now. Order today and delivery in Jan-feb, but other manufacturers struggle to deliver within 6 months

                    Also still 111,

but mine had recently been delayed 2 months! (8 weeks!) how does that even happen! Hoping it goes back towards April delivery next month:/

thankfully, I am with a car. I hope you guys get your cars asap and post pics!!

If the msport is added, I will cancel and reorder lol

Just spoke to motability… the vehicle does seem to be up on the website for people to order however the website link is dead and the motability agent said there is an issue with ordering the car from the manufacturer hence the motability page isn’t up yet.

Does seem strange to introduce the vehicle on the scheme when there a supposedly a facelift on the horizon (with probably a price hike) and all orders will be manufactured after the facelift. However I am happy others might be able to order – just wondering how much communication there is between BMW and motability right now

Every combo has advantages and disadvantages, just be aware the white rooflining might show a little more from the outside if black but not sure how much. I wish there were more in showrooms to actually see different specs in real life and decide properly

Im thinking of changing to white with shadow line and tinted window for the whole stormtrooper look but not sure

How has everyone’s December order update gone?

unfortunately mine has been delayed. Was originally due April, now has a build week of 19/05/24 and a delivery of 25/06/24. Still on 111. Desperately want to see it move back to delivery in April.

hoping you guys have better news!

Not sure if anyone has realised, but there has already been changes to the bmw i4 configurator. The edrive 35 sport price has increased and is no longer below 50k (as it was before motability took it off). The picture used for the sun protection glass add on has changed. Not sure why
