Signed, Sealed and collected, handover absolutely perfect! Absolutely gorgeous car! Yes a slog to get here but that’s all in the past! I’m really glad I persevered.

Our car reportedly departed the manufacturer. All I want to know is how long does it take to get to the UK and then to our car dealer.
About 2 weeks to get to your dealer from Zeebrugge Frank. And then your 4 day waiting period.
@UncJ it’s just beggars belief, the emotions we’ve been through to get to this point!! I laugh now at the farcical but I wasn’t laughing a few months ago!! 😮💨
No I didn’t read about the Leccy cars!!! Oh no that’s blinkin awful!! I’ll keep my Volvo for the 3 years etc but certainly when I come to change I’ll be thinking long and hard!
@Nshaw Yaaaaay both collecting Friday morning! Hurrah for us 🎉 and no more taxis for you and your Daughter, bless her! To be honest I’ve no questions for them on collection, I just want to sign on the dotted line and get the heck out of there! No point asking anything because they don’t know 😅😅 just sign up and tootle off and have a wonderful ride out with your family, really pleased for you Karen… and Daughter 💚
Out of 47 of us on this 1 thread, there’s been a handful of Cars collected, and 1 Cancelled by the customer, I sincerely hope the 40 odd of you are not far behind and this whole situation is over. Good Luck all 🩵
Just had email from dealer saying it at importers waiting for a slot on a truck to the dealer. so hoping in next two weeks I’ll be taking delivery

Soooo… had the call this Eve, collection Friday and time booked in! It’s all systems go…Superb timing from docks to transportation up here ….
Now for the drama 🤦🏼♀️The car that has been delivered IS my original order, from December (Higher Ap) But that’s just the ARN (order number) once in build it’s the MY25!.. Don’t worry obvs not paying no higher AP and was expecting the MY25, ok fine with this.
My 2nd order in February is currently being built for July delivery…. ALONG WITH a 3rd Car in my name!?
My dealer was just banging his head against a brick wall with fleet order, it’s the biggest mess I’ve ever experienced in my entire lifeMy silver lining is my car is here I shall send proof of life on Friday, and to the other cars that are in my name and on the production line…. Erm 🫤 PASS 🤦🏼♀️

🎶🎶🎶 Finally it happened to me🎶🎶🎶Great news Steph …finally!! 😄 As Volvo are so useless make sure to remind your dealer about the 4 day rule. I.e. – A confirmed handover date must be at least 4 days after setting it. Otherwise it might delay you getting the car unless he sets a date with you at the earliest possible moment.
Ive emailed him asking if I can collect Friday as I have a lot of medical appointments this coming week, I didn’t know about a 4 day rule, I’ll double check this when he calls or emails make sure it’s done properly thank you UncJ ☺️

@anarchy21 thank you, they do seem to be filtering through now, finally! This was a Feb order, June build.I have kind of pestered my dealer though with a weekly email 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@UncJ Oooo she’s a beaut! My father in law has the same, he swears by Merc and will never drive anything else. Happy driving, we’ve been to Lincolnshire on a camping trip, really nice place!
@nshaw yes the end is near for us after a hard slog, I too am just waiting for the call now to collect, as it’s here somewhere in the UK 😂 I didn’t get the Vista screen shot this time but I’m assuming it’s the colour I ordered etc, fabulous they removed your £750 and quite rightly so, keep us updated on your collection day. I’m actually thinking he will call tomorrow to say it’s at the dealer as it’s his day off today, which will mean I can collect next week when they’ve registered it etc, which is a good week for me to collect, not a lot of appointments etc.
I nearly gave up so many times and nearly told them to forget it, I thought the day would never come! I’m glad I persevered, but I just will never understand where the original December orders the MY24’s disappeared too!!

I wonder how UncJ is getting on with the Merc order? I hope he pops back on to let us know. I feel as though we and a few others are the originals on here through the Volvo Saga 😂Car now at dealers and ready for handover next Thursday. This is all most overwhelming right now after waiting 6+ months with nothing happening with useless Volvo. 😁Wow UncJ that’s amazing! 2 weeks from test drive to collection well 3 if it’s next Thursday but wowzers so happy for you mate.
Mines built just awaiting despatch email 4 months later 😂

Summing up in my opinion, December orders like Ours, (Mine originally) but cancelled to get the lower AP where just in such mass orders they could not cope, no communication down to the dealers, so limited/non to us, instead of holding their hands up they just tried to wing it, and it all went wrong,
My order now, from Feb 2nd to being built June 11th I’d have been more than happy with timescale and communication.

Thanks nshaw for your nice comments. The C40 is the same car as the xc40 apart from the lower back half of the car, its more a suv coupe than a hatchback. Mrs L83 , i know just how frustrated you have been waiting for your car, i have been on that same journey! It will be worth it in the end! I promise!!!

My dealer has been in contact to say that my car Volvo C40 ‘Core’ is expected to be delivered on Tuesday 11th June. I ordered on 3rd Jan. The great news is that i have been upgraded to a ‘Plus’ edition, for the same price £1999 which is kind of Volvo. Has anyone else got an upgrade due to delays ? Hope to upload a few photo’s on this thread next week, if i can work how to !

Yes as Nshaw says we all are getting upgraded wheels, interior, BLISS system etc as it’s a now a MY25 model, some took them as a upgrade but some didn’t like it,

I only placed my Mercedes CLA order on Wednesday and went for grey (again! lol) and I’d barely made it out of the dealership car park after placing said order before I started thinking “Maybe I should have chosen silver?” 🤭🤣🤣 Get home and the wife asked what colour I’d ordered and said – “Not another boring grey car again!” 😆😜
Me, You and Karen have to make a deal that our next cars when we come to change are NOT Grey or Blue 😂… we have to go bold like crazy Red or Purple just not Greys or Blues haha 😂🤍
MrsL83 The tinting is completed at the dealers so maybe still possible for you? We ordered Fjord Blue although I did change my mind to grey but never mind.
Oh I’m not faffing with the dealer now Karen, with how hardwork they’ve been, I changed my mind to Fusion red 😂 but again wasn’t messing about so stuck with Grey 😂

W/C 14th being a Friday is an odd thing to say isn’t it, I thought they did fire them off in a day being a sort of production line.. but that’s just in my head 😂 and wishful thinking, someone on here will know how long they take to build. All they said to me is build date 11th and 3 weeks max to get here so I’m thinking late June/first week of July … if all goes to plan. You can ask your dealer for the Screenshot of the build plan which has all the dates on, that’s what I was sent and how I know the exact dates 🙂[/ i’ve look again and realised the info is at the bottom of the email! Obviously was too grumpy at the time and stopped reading it!! 😂 Here’s the info below : Planned Dealer Delivery Date 09/07/2024 Make Volvo Model XC40 Last Day of Order Change 22/05/2024 Model Year 2025 Variant Description XC40 Plus, B3 Mild hybrid, Petrol, Dark Current Planned Build Date 14/06/2024

Hi Dodger7, no one including dealers will know that until it lands, (I’d doubt it though personally)
if you are ordering one I’d advise checking build, delivery and exact model ordered etc. Get everything in writing/emailed over. Hope you have an easier transaction than the 40 of us on here. Good Luck 🤞🏽

Im personally waiting for my Volvo as the Mercedes boot wasn’t big enough for us 5, we go camping etc a lot… The saga continues here…. To be continued 🙃
