Wondering if they’ll add the Match trims to Motability, once the left hand manages to figure out what the right hand is doing.
I don’t mind the Match trim, as there are rarely more than 2 in my car, and I’d prefer the powered tailgate.

So, I have had the response below from my VW dealer. “what I can 100% confirm is the car we ordered will be the car you will get.” So I have it in writing that I will be getting what I ordered, namely, New 2024 ‘Style’ ID4 with the Pano roof as standard.
Good stuff, I’m glad you managed to get some clarification.
Will they have any 286ps models in stock? When I went to the dealership, we had to go out in one of the current 170ps models.
I didn’t drive, as I need hand controls. My brother said the existing model was impressive, and thought it was nice to drive.
I don’t mind getting the new model instead, as long as it’s the one with the powered tailgate.

Thanks @mlh I’m test driving id4 tomorrow so I’ll see what they say. Although I’m in love with the Q4 I still can’t get lack of electric adjustable seats out of my mind
They were definitely a requirement before, as my dad drove the car most of the time, and the electric memory seats on my Grandland saved so much hassle.
Now it’s only going to be me driving, it’s not such a big deal.
I’m a big Audi fan, but not a big AP fan 🙂
Had a brand new A8 for work in 2006, and still the best car I’ve ever had.
I’d have preferred electric tailgate to a pano roof, but not enough to pay for one, and I rarely have people in the back, so not too worried about losing the 3 way if it came to it.
Salesman said that electric seats were an optional extra @kj35
They like to keep us guessing!
I’d be inclined to change to the new 286ps Match, as it would get me a power tailgate, that I’m not sure the Style does have.
Will have to wait and see if these appear on the motability website anytime soon.
Just saw online that VW have just updated the trims on offer for the ID.4, and the Life/Style are no longer available. Seems the trim is now ‘Match’ across the fleet, with 2 options on the ID.4. We now have the 52kw 170ps, and another with the 77kw 286ps. Motability & Motaclarity don’t seem to have updated yet, so will be interesting to see what transpires.[/quote Interesting. Where have you seen that ? I was told that the life and style were the new models for 2024. ?? I have ordered the style, so wonder what it has changed to ?. Any info appreciated
Just on the VW website.

Great stuff, congrats!
I had a few conversations with Howards MG Yeovil last year, when I was looking at the HS. The couple of people at the dealership I spoke with were really helpful,. and super friendly.
Just before I was going down to take a test drive, my mum said that she wanted to start driving again and didn’t like the size of it. Felt really bad, but they were absolutely fine once I explained what had transpired.
I’m sure they’re used to it, but I never like wasting anyone’s time. I know how frustrated I get when it happens with my work 🙂
I ordered an ID.4 about 3 weeks ago, and not sure what the timescale for delivery is. Think he hoped for late April, but could be nearer summer if there are any problems.
Yes Crystal grille is a £1600 option
I didn’t even look at any options… I’ll be shocked if I do 20,000 miles in 3 years, so as it comes was all I needed 🙂

I made sure I checked, as I’d seen all the issues with the infotainment and the non backlit tabs etc.
I did look at the Enyaq, but the extra grand ruled it out for me, given the amount of time I spend driving.
Coupled with the fact that the nearest Skoda dealership is half an hour away, and it would mean I need to take a day off if it ever needs to go in, as I can’t get a courtesy car.

If the most you’re going to travel is around 30 miles, then I’d say an electric vehicle would be ideal.
It would never have worked back when I was doing lots of miles, but now I’m a ‘townie’ for 95% of the time, it’ll work just fine.
I was looking at the Mokka, but had to discount it as I need my wheelchair with me unless I’m going to the gym and can park right outside.
I’d go and take a look around a few dealerships as recommended above, and then you can sit in some cars to see which ones take your fancy.
As you can see from the ID.4 thread, best is in the eye of the beholder. One man’s trash, is another man’s treasure 🙂
Rarely have anyone in the back, unless I’m going on the odd weekend away. When I do have someone in the back, they’ll have to deal with those, not me.
Pretty sure the controls are backlit in the updated model, and I use hand controls, so steer with a ball.
Plenty of room in the boot for my wheelchair, and will save the AP in the first year.

Actually, he doesnt provide anti ev content, he is fair minded and if you watch the video, he says this us NOT for anti ev peopke to use as ammunition. He shows even when totally frozen, you can get charge into tge car.
I found that channel a while ago, when I was looking at the ID.4, and watched a fair few videos to try and get a handle on the channel.
While they all own EVs by the looks of things, they do see more balanced than most when relaying pros & cons of vehicles.
I.ve been waiting since August to get the charger fitted. Finally 2 weeks before Xmas got a phone call for a provisional date of 7th Feb, and the lass said, the sparks is on the sick so the date may change. Got a phone call the other day, well the sparks has resigned. The lass says they have one 50 miles away and going to send them. Then I received an email from Ohme saying the install is at Stage 2…Planning the install. At least its progress from Stage 1, the Home Survey Still no confirmed date, but they are working on it
Bloody hell! I hope that you manage to get things sorted soonest.
If I’m having the same problems, I’ll be asking VW to give me free electricity until it’s fitted.
Vw iD4 ordered couple of weeks ago was told 12 weeks
Chap at VW said it could be April, and it could be August.
Guess he is giving himself as much leeway as possible, and can say ‘It’s here earlier than we thought’ if it does turn up before Easter.
It’s still early days, but I prefer to be glass half full until given reason to think otherwise 🙂
That was the EV Tariff that I’d seen and was intending to sign up for once done.
I’d imagine I’ll probably only have to charge once a month, unless I’m going somewhere for a weekend away.
Thanks guys, much appreciated.
I was a little more at ease when I saw that most people seemed to have a reasonably good experience, and the few phone calls I have had thus far fit with that.
I do think ours will be pretty simple as we have some boxes on the outside wall of my bedroom at the front of the bungalow and plenty of space, too.
We’re with British Gas for our house Gas & Electric, as well as having a sewage pump servicing our house and 2 maisonettes behind with OVO.
I think we’ll likely just switch to the EV Tariff with British Gas, as it’ll likely not cost much more over the year given the miles I’m likely to do and it’ll save mum the stress that changing things always causes her.
Nice one, congrats on an early arrival.
Glad to see they’ve gotten the wait times down from the craziness that was a few years back.
I’ve enjoyed my Grandland and wouldn’t hesitate to get another in the future.
I was panicking when I saw this thread, as I’ve just started the process. My dad did all the domestic stuff, but passed away in April, and mum has even less idea than myself.
I spoke to someone on the phone yesterday explaining and the girl I spoke with said no problem. She asked a few questions about the property and said we’ll get someone to give you a call then they’ll come out to do it for you.
Reading back, I’m guessing that was Motability who called, and they’ve now passed info onto Ohme who have emailed me today and I’ve set up a 10min call with the with someone from Ohme in a couple weeks.

Agree. Would be much more bearable if you could guarantee being allowed to extend to 5-years again.
Great post, Mark, and happy new year to you, too.
I’ve only been here a short time, but you’re one of my favourite posters.
Happy New Year to all at WMC, and hopefully we can all get a few things we hope for from Motability in 2024!
I extended mine last month due to not having my new wheelchair in time to check the boot sizes of prospective replacements. It just said I am extended for 2 years, but can change at any time within that period with no penalty.
Can I just ask, did you make the 2 year extension online or by phone? Also, did the wording online (or said by the operator if you called) specifically state that you could change at any time within that 2 years? I know that’s always been the case previously (you could extend by 1 or 2 years and change at any time within that) and hopefully it still is, as I may wish to do this myself, but as mentioned earlier I was specifically told yesterday that the automatic extension facility is reducing to 6 months and anything longer is only by exception. Knowing my luck, the change will have been implemented by the time our order window opens in April
Sorry, first time on today. I did it on the motability website, and it said you can change without penalty at anytime within the extension period. Any bonus would be awarded pro-rata if you do change, iirc.
It was literally two clicks and done. Maybe they’re going to change it so the extensions are done in 6m increments and you’ll be tied in, or something.
