No excuse for them not to do it as soon as you phone and it taking less than 2 minutes. My order kept getting delayed but luckily found the exact same car on a cancelled order so needed to cancel mine. Thankfully, there was no sales crap I had to put up with and instead was instantly cancelled.
My car was just delayed for another 2 months. I thought the market was getting better but 3 delays makes me think otherwise.
Yep but I wouldn’t cancel until you find an in-stock car. Other dealers might tell you they can get you the car earlier but unless its in stock its a gamble and they might say at a later date that its going to be delayed.
My car changed from 1st May to the 30th June. I will likely be cancelling mine if its delayed again but I will shop around first.
My Peugeot 2008 GT (Petrol Aut0) was supposed to be delivered in May. It’s been pushed back to June but I have a feeling it will be pushed back even further. Looks like I will pick up a Mokka ultimate petrol auto if it does.
They seem to be a lot easier to get than the 2008’s and could probably get one in stock if I don’t mind travelling. Not sure how much notice the dealership gets when it comes to a delay but planning on phoning on the 1st June since it’s supposed to be ready by the 30th.
Yeah but the issue is getting one that my partner will be happy with. She wants a compact-suv type of car. I have tried to get her to consider a different car but she has fell in love with the peugeot 2008 so its a losing battle. Struggling to find a similar car with a realistic AP that she is happy with.
I think with that its more about not taking advantage of the scheme. For example, I know someone on the scheme and she argued that going to the gym was to the “benefit of the person” because it was keeping her fit and healthy to better care for said person. They said that was fine. How is that not “personal leisure” ?
When we ordered he checked his computer and asked what colour we wanted. He then said there was 50 or so available and he would try and “grab one” and to get in touch in 48 hours. We did and he said he managed to get one.
So it was supposed to be a 6-8 weeks then it changed to 12 weeks and now its the end of June. Does the above sound like he was lying or just typical delays?
April 1, 2025 at 9:20 am in reply to: Travelling for a stock vehicle when just passed? Would you? #300402Thanks! Ordered it yesterday. Said there were 30+ already on the way and he will try and snipe one and should know within 48 hours. He believed it was a very high chance. If done should receive in May.
Unfortunately, I didn’t turn the engine on when I sat in it. I’m only 5 foot 8 but I do like to sit high by adjusting the seat position so I do believe I will be ok. The whole “turning the engine on” was something I totally overlooked. I would think there would be some flexibility by adjusting the steering wheel/seat worse case.

March 30, 2025 at 2:01 pm in reply to: Travelling for a stock vehicle when just passed? Would you? #300316Thanks for the advice. I just hope they aren’t saying May and then when May come along they delay. I’m not sure if it sounds realistic for a factory car ordered in a the next few days to be delivered by May but guess I have no reason to think otherwise.
March 29, 2025 at 5:37 pm in reply to: Travelling for a stock vehicle when just passed? Would you? #300280I have decided to just order one locally. Looks like it will be factory and they said end of May. I haven’t test drove one but been in the car and checked it out. I was under the impression that almost all dealers wont let me test drive because I haven’t had my licence for over a year. I will try and get a quick test drive but I also only have my paper test pass certificate too.
I’m going on Monday to order the car to get everything locked in before 1st April. Sounds like I wont suffer any penalty if I cancel from what people have said on this forum.
March 28, 2025 at 9:18 pm in reply to: Travelling for a stock vehicle when just passed? Would you? #300227Thanks for the advice. Yeah I think the option of me driving is the last resort. I still have a few dealers to call that are more local. I’m just not sure how urgent it is for me to get it all ordered before the 1st. I don’t fully understand how it all works but sounds like I could end up paying a lot more if I wait until after, especially since the market is showing that petrol cars are increasing in price and electric is going down.
If its not too difficult to add someone as a temp driver we might be able to get one of her family members to pick the car up which would make it easier.
Yeah already seen the deals from Wakefield and phoned. The 2008 gt (petrol) were already gone. Seems like a lot of deals are electric but will try. Going to phone Barnsley tomorrow.
Yeah I’ve just passed my test today and looking to get one ordered before the 31st. Been looking at the Peugeot 2008 GT model (£400 ap).
Tried phoning close to me but most are saying June delivery. Will probably be forced to order on Monday incase ap goes up. Will phone up my dealerships that are less than an hour away and try and see if any have current stock.
So Its not so much about asking them to cancel but more about asking if they will reorder? We have a right to cancel anytime up until we type in the pin or something, correct?
