Probably better to ask Motability, explain your injuries and concerns and see what they can come up with?
Your car may officially be due in January, but it may take longer to arrive, your medical problems may be resolved by then.
If your car does arrive before you heal, see if you can get a friend on the motability insurance and ask if they could take your old car to the dealer and take away the new one. You would of course have to be there to sign off the pin etc.
But motability will have dealt with similar problems to yours and will have a solution.
Its a very good idea.
But the quality and material type have let it down.
I do hope they have a mk 2, 3,4 it solves a lot of problems.
Its a solution, that just needs developed.
Are the opening two words referring to what is about to follow?
You are not alone.
I read the first 2 lines and that was enough.
I did not bother with the rest.
When a company does a re-brand, its a desperate last ditch move, and management have run out of ideas.
Its not usually a good sign, and re-brands are not usually successful.
But Jaguar and Lotus were the elite, its not looking good.
I was with BG until a year ago, and moved to Octopus.
I am paying £100/month less than when I was with British Gas. It could be changed fuel prices since last year. I got a lot of govt help last year and it went to BG. But not this year with Octopus.
I.ll know better in a couple of months how much difference between the two.
I’ve never used the ohme the cabin pre – heat, I’ve always used the Nissan app. It does look like you can.
Ah, that is why Ohme wants yo pair with your phone possibly?
Alrighty then, I wouldnt trust the Ohme app to do anything other than charge the car.
I use the Hyundai app, it controls the charging sessions, and pre-heats the cab.
It really should be the manufacturers controls that do that stuff, not a 3rd party App.
The Ohme app will not be able to pre-heat your car. The Ohme app should precondition your battery maybe?
But pre-heating your car should be done using the Skoda app
Hyundai,s Blue-link on the ioniq is used to pre-heat the car.
I could be wrong, with the Enyaq.
You got there and back with 40% left which is good.
Our ex30 said it was 6 miles annd 4% off the battery a 2mile journey today.
Short journeys are never very efficient, cars always suffer, petrol or EV.
How you getting on with the EX30? Its a good looking car and will turn heads wherever you go.
That is a beautiful car!
Cosy and comfy, it will make a difference to the family. Good stuff.
I dont look at the mi/kw hr thingy, its a yoyo.
But I did today and it was 2.7 something like that. Its pretty meaningless and variable.
When the car gets to 40%, time to recharge!
Most if not nearly all SUV,s DO NOT have a boot lIp.
Probably better asking which ones have a boot lip.
Most have adjustable floors, so they can have a flat floor or a dropped floor and a lip.
Probably best if you decide which suv,s you do like and watch the review on Carwow and skip to 3/4 Along the vid where they throw suitcases into the boot.
November 18, 2024 at 3:57 pm in reply to: Electricity tariffs and setting up of EV home charging procedures #293518It could be a problematic install with added costs.
You would need a dedicated parking space, which your HA may be ok with. Crossing the path can be done. phaedra had a ‘Kerbo’ installed its a gully that crosses the pavement, I believe it was done by the Council and cost £300.
Its the distance from your door to the gate that may cause a problem. The chargepoint may need to be fixed to a post near the boundary.
Not all HA are problematic, some may do what they can to help you. Ask them.
Yup Mark, its the only way to go. Dont worry about charge state.
I said to myself right from the outset, use the EV just like I used the petrol car. If it works for me, all good, if it doesnt, then change on next renewal.
It is a very different methodology using an EV, but its just hoops you have to jump through.
Its not for everyone, we all have different comfort zones.
Anyone can lease a duffer car, it is pot luck. But we are lucky to have Motability, for all its faults it gets it correct 99% of the time.
My buddy just ended his private car lease early, on an 18 plate Merc, and he had to hand the car back and pay a few thousand to the lease company.
We do get a very good deal.
My door handles were fine, no problem.
But Hyundai are quite accurate with WLTP figures, so kind of lucky there.
Not everyone can adapt quickly to new technology though!
Many will have their first Winter in an EV, and it is rather different.
You just got to adapt to conditions. Pre- warming the car is brilliant, and on a 300 mile runs, just charge when you need a toilet or coffee break.
When you order your EV you are contacted within a couple of days by Ohme to begin the charger installation.
A simple install can be within a month.
All the best, I hope you manage to snag a good deal.
I think a year ago AP.S were high and they dropped a lot. Lets hope its the same this year. A lot of customers are struggling.
Nice one Brydo.
If the heat pump can keep your house warm with these low temps, that is a winner.
Like everything else, technology improves. The older heat pumps struggled with cold weather, hope this works out for you.
November 17, 2024 at 12:37 am in reply to: Does an electric car accelerate faster on a fully charged battery #293426A half depleted battery has several paths for the electrons to take so will fill the needs of the motor more efficiently.
A fully charged battery had fewer pathways for the electrons.
Its why going from 80 to 100% percent takes longer.
Best analogy is a car park with 100 spaces and 100 cars. The cars look for a parking space, as the car park fills up the last 20 cars have to travel around the park trying to find a space.
In reality there will be no noticeable difference for the motor, until the battery gets close to depletion.
It.s what they do. selling the idea of a gladiatorial contest, and they are very very good at it.
Don King with his ski ramp quiff, if he could sell that to the general public, they can sell anything.
It is what Muricans excel at…making something average appear phenomenal.
Of course Tyson just needs to be himself to be exemplary, his life story is unbelievable.
November 16, 2024 at 9:20 am in reply to: BYD APs are having a laugh EDIT: Also add Lexus to the list #293392You cant take anything Trump says with a pinch of salt. The US heavily subsides ‘gas’ prices. A bit like his WALL which didnt happen or the Mexicans paid for it either. His best pal Musk may have a say in the EV subsidy…
Westetn Developed Nations act like a fiscal cartel, everything is manages, the US and the UK are both grossly indebted. The BofE just takes instructions from the US. Treasury regarding interest rates.
I used to do a gig in Algeria, production costs were 7 dollars/ barrel.
Aaww, you didnt.
They are as much ,,”fights” as thr wrestling on a Saturday afternoon with Mick McManus.
But the hype, the Rumble in the Jungle, we seen it all before.
Both leave it wide open for a rematch and a 2nd bite of the cherry.
People will believe the hype for the re-match as well.
Its a good payday for both, a bit like Strictly with boxing gloves.
November 15, 2024 at 4:05 pm in reply to: BYD APs are having a laugh EDIT: Also add Lexus to the list #293364It is obvious and I have mentioned it previously, that inflation will take its toll and AP,s must rise. All because of inflation, it doesnt matter what AP you paid the past 20 years, it is changing now. Car insurance used to cost £200/year, 4 years ago its now £350.
Motability take the hit, we do not notice.
BYD is, or will be hit by EU tariffs. What the EU does, we follow suit. Dont forget French cars are heavily subsides by their Govt.
But everywhere prices go up and never come down.
It is difficult for everyone.
Yup Ford using every psychological trick.
Next it will be the
Ford Anglia
Ford Consul
Ford Granada
Not forgetting the Ford Cortina
Ford knows the ones with a large disposable income are the retired and marketing their wares accordingly.
But you have not had a reliable or safe car from the get go.
Your car is the very Antithesis of “Worry free motoring”.
The fact that a main dealer has tried several times and cannot fix the car, suggests that Motability has completely and utterly failed YOU as a customer.
Never mind Motability,s complete incompetence with dealing with the faulty car.
You deserve a better outcome than this circus of errors from Motability
As @joejoe says.
The most important reason for checking the Ohme app is to join the GLEE CLUB.
This is where you used to remember spending £120/ month on petrol, and now your costs have slumped to £12/month. This gives you extreme GLEE.
