Not much point in arguing what it should be.
If the vehicle insurance companies say NO under 25 year olds, its a show stopper.
If the OP is not happy with the vehicles on offer, then wait 3 months and see what comes on to the scheme then.
Motability wash their hands of the vehicles on offer for under 25 year olds and point their finger at Direct Line.
Hope your health picks up Gee.
Try an avoid roundabouts on 2 wheels. May help with the ‘ Lean’ problem.
Get well soon dude.
Its not that under 25’s are pushed out. They were never in it.
Even when I was 17 every car was limited until you reached 25. You just could not get insured for one.
If there is nothing suitable for you, then yes, give it a rest for a couple of years until you reach 25.
You should have some accumulated NCB, so getting insured privately will not be eye wateringly expensive.

Matt Watson also comments on this on the Carwow revue of 2 years ago.
You should try it out at the dealers.
It wouldnt be so bad if it was just only the stick movement that can be mirrored on the other side. But the Park function is usually a button on the end of the gear lever.
With todays technology and 3D printed parts, it could be done.
But then again, I know zip about mods for hand controls.
Yup Walter, a lot of cars now have gear selection on the right hand column.
Just something you look for in your search..
Until you test drive a car, you will not know if it works for you.
Good luck with your search.
Maybe the new quarter will have a car for you!! I hope so!
Thats is just brilliant Rich, am so glad it worked out for you.
Maybe wait a few days an see what the new pricelist brings?
Well done for pushing Motability.
Rly…if you touch your phone while driving its 6 points.
Its the law. If you want to argue it in court, by all means, that is your right.
You wont lose your license over 6 points, or your car.
If you choose to break the law, you get 6 points if caught.

But we are a nation of petrolheads, so any petrol car would be a good un.
Big Dave has the best solution his own fuel tanks.
But they are heavily legislated and have to meet a lot of environmental and safety standards.
For the rest of us, its going to be the availability of petrol.
There will not be the petrol stations as we know it now. Also, as demand and supply drops, it will become astronomically expensive to buy petrol.
You will be able to buy it, and more than likely be able to use it similar to classic cars that dont need mot,s tax etc
But it will be a niche class of enthusiasts, with vehicles over a certain age or something similar.

If you look at it as tank size, or percent full, then its not a problem for most part. The only time you have to plan anything if you are on a long trip in an ev. Then you have to put a smidgen more thought into it.
With a mobility car, you are covered by the rac. If your car runs out of petrol or charge, they come out an fix it.

I know, but ev,s are the same as ice cars. I would fill the ice tank to full and similarly the ev.
Only difference is the ev is more accurate how many miles you got left.
Nearing handover of the petrol car, i was only putting a tenner in it. Not much point in handing over the car with a full tank. But the car said 188 miles left, an drove 20 miles home an it still said 188 miles. Next day on startup its down to 160 miles.
Not bothered about miles or range, with ev or ice. When it got to half tank it got filled up.
I.ve not found any problems getting a place to charge the ev.
The only problem is getting one that is affordable.
The cheap rate rapid chargers at 17p kw/hr are busy. The 70p/ kw.hr 150kw sit empty, 6 charging bays, an at most only seen one car using it
But next to a starbucks, plug it in go for a coffee an its charged by the time am half way through the coffee.
Am gonna need new clothes at this rate.
Very similar background as well. Mum asking me to file down the black plastic Co-op tokens to shilling size to put in the gas meter or the slot telly.
December 23, 2023 at 1:41 am in reply to: Motability EV Emails – Can someone explain this please? #252113Why stop at 80%?
Just charge it to 100% at home. Get a full tank out of it?

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Be careful of range with EV,S. They may advertise 315 miles but in Winter you get 250 max.</p>
You can always hire an ev for a week an see if it works for you.Do as many test drives as you can with chairs or scooters etc. Using public chargers are extortionate.
Dont put washing machines or tumble dryers on at night and go to bed.
Not surprising really.
Motability will time limit the terms of the lease.
They got to do that.
Three years ago my car cost £28K.
My current car cost £50k.
The high cost of new cars is limiting the lease period.
Motability need a return on selling lease end cars.
Its not something you get a vote on…except with your feet.
Well I bagged an Ioniq 5 Ultimate for £1500. It has all of your requirements apart from AWD.
£750 from dealer
£750 new car payment
I also had good condition bonus of £250. Maybe your car as trade in can get that??
Its Vertu Group doing the deals if one of their members are near you.
Maybe another option for you to consider.
Your new order should show up immediately as a new order on your Motability website.
I cancelled my existing factory order and it cleared my ‘new application’ section whilst i was at the dealers. I then ordered my new stock car with the motability salesperson and the new order was approved by motability and the new car was on my motability order within an hour.
If your Corsa is not showing on your Motability new application, something is wrong. You should contact motability and find out why it is not showing
Ohme could and should send out an engineer to do a site survey if you cannot do this yourself.
Until your property is surveyed by a professional, you are just guessing.
My meter box is inside wall in the hallway on the gable next to the drive. All the electrics are 2 m from the front of the property.
I completed the Ohme survey early July and have a provisional date of February for installing the chargepoint.
I have complained twice to Motability, and the complaints go into a deep well, never to be seen again.
@glos guy
Well, something has spooked Motability, with people struggling financially, lack of vehicles and supply line problems. They are probably frightened of losing customers. The long wait times for cars is a drag on their business, people will look elsewhere if Motability cant supply the goods.
There’s been a few changes and more to come I would think.
@glos guy
I dont know if its a first as you say, but that is what I did back in July.
The car was taken off the motability list and i ordered it an it was on my motability website new lease agreement right away.
So, even though its not on the motability search as the car was removed, Motability quite happily approved the new order.
Perhaps its a change in the way Motability Operations are now operating. Buy thats a few people who have done this recently. It certainly wont be happenstance that they are all VW orders.
@glos guy
No, you can still order a stock car and that includes one that is not yet built as long as the vehicle still has the Motability vehicle number. The car is officially a stock item if it was ordered on the VWsystem and not yet built.
As such motability will add it to your new lease agreement, even though it is removed from the motability car search.
I did this, but cancelled the order as VW have manufacturing problems.
I cant fault the VW salespersons, they do their best to get you what you want.
Always a gamble when the new lease window opens.
The number of available vehicles has increased over the past 3 months, it was at 640 for a while but is moving up nicely now.
Ordering is one thing, wait times are another.
Good luck with your choices, I hope it all goes smoothly for ya Mikey!!
With vehicles going EV, there is no need for dealerships or servicing and manufacturers will follow Teslas model.
It will mean a new infrastructure will emerge, probably what Motability have done with other services. Farm it out to a service company, just the way they deal with tyres, insurance. Who knows, the new car could be delivered to your door in a few years time, by DeliverCar-oo or something.
There will be plenty of prime real estate going when the dealerships shut up shop.
I dont know about other cars, but am disappointed by the Ioniq 5 cameras. They are excellent when the lenses are clean and dry.
But in the rain, they are pretty much useless. I dont know if the digital door mirrors are shielded or have a wash system to keep them clean.
The Hyundai blind spot monitor on turn signal is brilliant, I guess the air stream keeps the rain off them.
The 360 cameras are not much good when its wet and raining though.
