I’m up to my maximum 5 years now, Thanks to Covid got the extra 2 years added in 2021
In fact currently over it by 6 months by way of extension due to DWP not making a decision ( backlog)
I’m down to the wire now & have to place an order within 4 weeks, yet still no DWP decision confirmation for a further 3 years
I was going to go for the Renault Australe, which seemed to have all the trim my 3008 has apart from roof which I can do without, but it seems the power chair wont fit in it, and this is where choice is playing a massive point, finding a SUV type with a space for the chair without removing the seat completely ( which I physically cant )
All the models and makes suitable are either no longer on the scheme that would take it or are around 5k AP which I cant make especially with a DWP decision looming or afford and many of them don’t have the items I need without adding Packs again taking it up to 5k
As Solent says the other stuff is needed, seats heated lumbar massage, tail lift & foot swipe , cameras, sat nav, blind spot ,cruise, limiter, keyless & a few others, back in 2018 these were all part of the Gt Line premium trim and I believe was about another 700 on the AP price at the time compared to GT which still had more than todays version. Think my total AP on the car was around 3k including hoist back then
I really dont want to be paying much more than 3k, Im seriously considering changing the chair at the moment to a fold down one , then can consider maybe the 2008 GT, with all the packs comes in at around my maximum due to its low AP.
Any other SUV suggestions will be welcome with a fairly large & high boot space, that has lots of items as part of the standard spec without adding 5 0r 6 packs and will do around 50MPG (dreaming I know)
Peugeot must be losing lots of motability clients coming back for another 3008 due to this decision to strip back its specs, not even having auto Tailgate due to chips shortage is an excuse wearing thin, but they might be able to do it after factory for £400 !!
HELP
Had massive problems with my order, as I require a hoist fitted in The Austral
not only the fact hoists are now 400% more expensive than my last one , Now £600 minimum ( not informed by dealer) so another £600 on AP
The boot opening is not as large as it seems, and only ONE hoist may fit the Austral
my dealer or their adaptation company yet to order or fit one to an Austral
It now appears my chair cannot be lifted in as it is mm too high,
Now they expect me to remove the whole seat from its frame (16kg) by hand , then the hoist will lift the base in
or buy a new chair at 2k that will fit the car
