Hi – you shouldn’t actually be charged the £45 – it has just been ‘reserved’ in case needed. Usually just a day or two, in my experience.
Our Kona EV with 63Kw battery has, since July 2021, done almost 20,000 miles.
On average we have got 4.97 miles from each Kwh of energy. My wife has taken it as her ‘mission’ to keep that high. The range displayed by the car seems pretty accurate but our range on a full battery has varied from 280 to 352 miles.
We don’t have a home ev chargepoint and so use a mixture of the 3 pin to ev cable and public chargepoints. May not get a Kona on the change in July but will get an EV.

I think you should certainly inform Motability not necessarily for them to do anything now but if other problems come to light they will be able to easily see that things have been difficult from Delivery.
Hopefully it is ‘just’ a rushed PDI but it shouldn’t happen. I’m also speaking from my own experience our previous car was a ‘rogue’ vehicle it had numbers of problems and as time passed the vehicle showed more problems we were told by Motability that we could change early. The pandemic put paid to that but we have now changed.I have to say I found Motability very fair in their handling of the situation.
Will do Winston.
If you can get on a ferry that operates and perhaps one that has a working lift then you’ll do better than I’ve managed on my last trip.
