Borris, the dealer is offering you what you ordered, just not in the same colour. Surely you can see that? I do hope there is a satisfactory resolution for you. But if there are my24 vehicles at Tilbury they will be offered first to the customers.
Ioniq – please done assume things without reading all the thread. I have nothing to see my dealer is not offering me anything
it’s not me with the issue, it’s my dealer making it difficult. I’m happy to possibly have another colour if it’s one I’m happy with. It’s my dealer telling me he has to ask motability if I can first.
the dealer has been told their is 7 cars at the dock matching my order but he’s making it difficult saying he has to ask motability and sales development manager first if I can have it. He wants me to wait for my factory order which I place in June was due October now told march.
I ordered on the 17th of this month and found one at the dock they had every colour in stock in the n line model so was quite lucky with it, if i wanted any other model it was 8 weeks
what dealer was this as i placed order in June for ionic 5 ultimate in matte grey and was told October. I’ve now been told march delivery.
Sorry only just seen this it was the wigan dealership, But your order in june will be for a different model probably i went for the 84kwh and could have any of the “gloss” colours matte colours werent available as quick.

Thats because you’ve chose matte grey, apparently according to my dealer matte colours and digital teal have very long waits, they must not make any spares in those colours for some reason, order only however i cant get a black either so i think itsjust luck of the draw
They had digital teal unregistered and a few others where i got mine from ultimate and premium models i just had to wait 2 weeks for mine as its an N line
so I’ve asked my dealer about having an alternative colour an I know loads available as spoken to another dealer to confirm at docks tilbury etc.
my dealer tells me he has to ask motability if he can as it’s not the car I placed order for Eve. Tho it’s same spec model just possibly different colour. I’ve never heard of this before as I’ve placed factory orders many times a then the dealer has phoned like 6-8 weeks later saying good news one at docks you can have. So I think he’s fobbing me off.
apparently he has emailed sales development manager who this is at motability to check it’s aloud sounds all rubbish to me
@Borris I’ll second @Glos-Guy ‘s comment, as I to got to pick the trim and colour choice from Tilbury docks.
thank you for all this info. I’ve since gone back to my dealer and he’s told me that it’s not just that simple they have to get permission from motability. Thinks he’s trying to fob me off I’m gonna call motability tomorrow an ask them to sort it.
I’d be cancelling. Nine months! The most I’m prepared to wait is four or five at a push.
The worst part is the dealer. I’ve never had bad dealers until now. But this guy will not return any calls or emails at all. I’ve penned an email to send over the sales manager as not getting any update or information from the guy is a joke.
I’ve even emailed asking if I change colour could I get car sooner. No reply it’s shocking definitely will not use again or take it for service will find another dealer.
9months is very long time I’ve only found this information out on my car by contacting Hyundai uk for information.

interesting I wasn’t told this but not only that, Its gone for order end June delivery October to now delivery march 2025 I’ve seen other collect Matte colours and orders placed after me.
seems a long time 9 months when others have come through in matte paint already

i would of been well on to dealer by now as plenty of cars was available back in April.

yep I can see he said that, my point was more I would of been in touch with dealer as Hyundai use a global stock system so cars are not tired to just dealers. So possibly one would have popped up. When I place order end June I was shown the network and was around 15/16 cars available all models with different options etc.
I ordered our car in April, no stock of the spec we wanted so a factory order that when the dealer tried to place couldnt get a date, from motability we are still getting the same updates as markah2007
i would of been well on to dealer by now as plenty of cars was available back in April.
I’ve currently got the ionic 5 on order, but who knows when or if we will even get them anymore.
I looked at this at the weekend and it was very impressed with the car. Didn’t test drive but looked great.
currently have an Ateca FR Sport. Boot did seem small to me on this. Can anyone tell me the current wait time on the alpine model. Also is anyone able to upload photos
So just spoken with my dealer again. And said still no update from motability or hyundai on when this will be sorted. He did say supply told him that currently there is 400 motability orders in the system an all in the same situation. Not sure how true that is but just what I have been told.
if that is true. It’s alot of customer for them to honour the price of the car. But who knows.
Glad I managed to get my order in on Saturday for ultimate in shooting star 🙂 dealers said end of October for delivery
I see your point but what I’m saying is would you also be happy to pay more if the price went up? You say you not going to pay on chance if might drop but technically dealers are not supposed to do this a they do not have to.
also as the above comment do you know the dealers will do this for you most I’ve spoken to will not.
Probs going to get moaned at for this but
Tbh most dealers are now requesting payment before collection couple days before.
I also think it’s little cheeky to not want to pay on the chance the price could change. I mean you obviously was happy with the price when you placed the order and also you wouldn’t offer to pay more if the price when up.
I remember seeing that plonker on there. He also claimed to be a director for motability and that he would be at the big show.
I believe he has now either been booted or left group.
Yer from what my dealer Has told me. Anything placed now for factory order will be the updated my25 model.
No problem. I know how frustrating it is having post removed etc. I got shot down when the new prices came out for the ionic 5 too.
It’s fully live on Mercedes website I suspect Motability is just behind updating site.

many thanksI do wonder that given our lease agreement says we can extend for a further 2 years a this has been granted because of this. Without digging out an checking I wonder if it mentions about the option to also buy the vehicle too as if it does it would be the same situation they would have to agree to selling as both party’s would need to agree to the amended right
I also paid my last car in 2021 seat Ateca FR Sport £1400 on day of collection no problem.
I also wanted to buy my current vehicle so was disappointed to find out you can no longer do this.
after getting options from motability they advised me the dealer can buy the car and then I purchase from (obvs with their added profit tagged on)
I asked this week a dealer about this and they was happy to buy my current car for me from motability an me from them. They advised roughly they would be asking £21k for my car. Definitely will not be buying at these silly prices. My car is 3years old and on 40k miles to add
My last car motability only wanted £10k for which at the time was very cheap compared to same car for sale at dealers.
such a shame the options has been taken away. I will be sending in an email regarding this too.

Also appears Škoda Enyaq is down to nil payment upto £699 and then upto £2k
