I see that Hyundai have released pictures and video of the new facelift Ioniq 5 and it looks really nice. Larger battery pack along with new bumpers and spoiler and the interior is also much better. Re designed center console and the same dash and software as the ioniq 6. Also a fast N line edition which im not interested in but the re worked model is very appealing as it addresses everything i didnt like in the old model.

I have an Ioniq 6 on order but my head is spinning now…godamit why do they keep doing this, wonder if and when it will appear on the scheme ???

I looked at Ioniq 5 ultimate awd tech pack last week – the sales person said if ordered now it would be November delivery- does this mean that I would get a facelift 2025 model ? thanks in advance

No, unfortunately its not even launched here in the UK yet.

I just spoke with local dealer just a few minutes and asked him about a factory order. He said he did a factory order today and it went through as a MY24, which he found confusing.

I’m testing an Ioniq 5 on Sunday morning so will see if I like it first before I cancel my Enyaq order.

Sadly that dealer doesn’t have any incentives, and he said he’d check for any available stock.

Thanks for your comments guys – test drove an enyaq estate 85x and I think I prefer it for its practicality (wheelchair fits with wheels still on in the boot with parcel shelf in place) and it’s more “normal” car looks over the Hyundai

Interesting, Servanus771. I have an Enyaq on order as we both really like it. However I’m getting a bit nervous about all the technical problems this VW platform is facing.

So many niggles being reported, but I’m yet to hear of any on the Ioniq 5.

We are doing a test drive this Sunday on one, so I’ll report my findings.

The Ioniq 5 has few niggles, from nearly a year on the groups I’ve heard of:

Boot door rattle – easy solve but can be annoying

ICCU failure – 12V charging failure there’s a box that fails but we’ve had a recall for software (and occasional hardware) updates.  We’re hoping it’s solved now…

USB failure, some USB sockets have failed, possibly through the need to attach for CarPlay or Android Auto, there’s been a few that have needed replacements.  A good number have bought various boxes to create a wireless connection permanently plugged in.

Obviously there’s been some cars that have had random but repetitive problems but that’s common with most brands, you always risk getting a ‘Friday Afternoon Special’.

Thanks, thats very useful and interesting.

I suppose Im concerned with so many of the VW issues that leave drivers stranded. The baffling charge port door issue that seems to have been an issue for around 4 years, STILL hasn’t been fixed by VW. And this can leave a driver stranded.

The issues you’ve listed dont seem to be serious, thankfully.

I realise that ANY car can have issues, but just seems that the VW BEV platform seems to have quite a lot more.

We both loved there Enyaq on the test drive. Its a lot of car for decent money.
