      <p style=”text-align: left;”>Hiya, I’m ordering my first motability car and would very much like a 4×4 comfortable seat very economical car preferably with leather heated seats. Like a lot of us comfort is the number one priority on any car I get, followed by low running cost. Which is a big ask I know. I’m looking at the mitsubishi Outlander but have heard good reviews of the Hyundai Kona and the Honda CRV.</p>

      Am test driving a mitsubishi outlander dynamic tomorrow as the AP looks reasonable for what you get. Any thoughts or inputs welcomed, have I missed a vehicle and model which you think I should consider?

      Really excellent forum btw thank you it’s helped me a lot already working out the scheme and how to get the best out of it. This car will really give me a new lease of life so it’s an important decision.

        am very excited, a little “model envy” at your dynamic safety 🙂 they offered white, pearlescent white, atlantic grey or the red at an extra cost. I wanted the white but husband pointed out me and white aren’t necessarily good bedfellows!! He’s right too damn him! I was told two weeks. we’ll see.

          Congrats! I don’t think you should have been charged for the red if you wanted it… Their most expensive colours are £565 extra which are included as metallic paint on the scheme so no added cost. Two reds: Ignite flame £300 and Pulse red £565. If you’re happy with the colour great ?

            Ignore me ? I’m rambling about the Kona when I now see it’s the outlander you decided on.

              @tim !! Haha!!

              🙂

              the Kona is a beautiful looking car , in the Mitsubishi garage Mr KarenJ was definitely lusting after the ASX or the Eclipse cross, I reminded him (gently) that comfort was number one and for me they didn’t cut it unfortunately. I am almost certain next time I change it’ll be full EV though as I am sure the charging will have much improved on speed. Part of me wondered if the break to charge on my longer journeys might do me some good but it’s too big a call to get wrong. I don’t think the outlander will win a beauty parade if put up against the Honda CRV or Toyota Rav 4 or that beautiful looking Hyundai Kona someone posted of theirs. But I’m happy I’ve definitely made the right decision for me for right now.

              When I was working before ‘this’ I had a great car list as my firm was German and definitely supported heavily subsidised German cars . I used to love new car time and would bore everyone stupid with analysing every choice to the nth degree for weeks…. spreadsheets, the lot. I’ve had an A3 SE, BMW 3 series estate, Mercedes c220 and a Toyota Prius on loan when the 3 series became just too painful to drive . I loved that prius but it was butt ugly ( 5 years old and a brown blue sludge colour) but the electronic and data were superb and an eye opener after the basic interiors of German cars back then. It’s one of the things I really missed after I had to take medical retirement, that and the people.

              I like cars, can you tell?

              So to get something back like this and it being such an important thing to give me freedom is massive.

              Anyway fingers crossed nothing goes wrong or that my car doesn’t get suddenly spirited away to a private customer. We will see.

                Anyone worrying about charging times or range anxiety about going full EV. I’d recommend spending a week or more keeping note of journeys and mileage to see what you actually do. You might be surprised at your journey length and find you rarely if ever will worry about needing to stop and charge.

                I did this and found nearly all my round trip journeys are under 100 miles bar holidays.

                  good point @Richard. Have you ever driven on the continent? Was wondering what charging in France and Spain is like these days?
