Ive noticed a problem with the original thread, taking me to page 1 of the thread. Assuming its the same problem as my original Brexit thread (stolen by WMC lol) that there were too many pages, i have started another weather thread (stolen from lightbodyae55 lol).

GeorgieDry and sunny now, of course. I actually had to put a cardi on this morning!
Oh well. Shouldn’t complain, really. Look at Turkey and Greece.

August 9, 2021 at 9:17 am #161059Wet and ‘orrid. Again. Very big loud clap of thunder about 6 a.m. woke up everybody except dog. Well, she may have opened one eyelid a tiny bit but being a Staffie, thought “Oh, end of the world again, eh? Wonder what I’ll have for breakfast…”
August 9, 2021 at 11:13 am #161087Not to bad a day here. 18c with a nice breeze blowing.

GeorgieLooks like we might be in for a few days of settled ‘Sunny spells’ with temps around 20c. May even open the top windows for a while.
August 10, 2021 at 1:51 pm #161229quite nice here too today, might go and start on the last raised bed ive got a week before the next consignment of compost arrives.
August 10, 2021 at 3:07 pm #161235Yup. Bright, sunny, warm. Doing 22C at midday. Lawns beckon…

ajnSlight fog 12*, looks like it’s going to clear into a wonderful morning, ?
August 11, 2021 at 8:13 am #161321Grey and cold despite the optimistic Beeb forecast. “Light high cloud” is a complete covering of low level stratus. 19C is actually 15C. It will clear, I reckon, but not quickly.

GeorgieFriday the 13th has actually been quite good so far, all things considered. Warmish, dry, less breeze than I was expecting.
Went to see a new Consultant this morning, which now makes three. This one’s for my back, which has been playing more-than-usually-silly beggers on and off for the last couple of years – including 3 bouts of sciatica (that may or may not be related to the anterolisthesis), the third of which was both legs to the feet and pretty much paralysing, so I thought I’d better get it checked out. Had 3 X-rays done on the spot and am also booked in for an MRI on the 23rd. Result. 😀
Totally forgot to pick up my prescriptions on the way home, though. :-/
August 13, 2021 at 3:10 pm #161677Dull, grey and chilly start. Now cleared and warmed a bit (21C). Still a bit brisk on the coast so Mrs T tells me, having just returned from her 6 mile frolic over the groynes!
Blimey, Georgie. You are certainly enduring more than your fair share of medical attention. I’ve got an eye-test next week and I thought that was pretty challenging! Take very great care, my friend and, if in doubt, argue with ’em. Tell ’em that whatever happens, it’ll be their fault. ?
August 17, 2021 at 10:18 am #162160Grey, grey and greyer. Barely 15C this morning. Meh!
The only decent thing in the sky this morning was the sight and sound one of the two-seat Spitfires treating us to a small aerobatic display. Couple of loops and wingovers and a long, slow climbing barrel roll. A delight for eyes and ears.
August 17, 2021 at 11:49 am #162173We had a passenger jet fly over us en route to Leeds airport, escorted by 2 Typhoons as the passenger jet had lost radio contact. All flying pretty low and making hell of a noise.

Previous car:Peugeot 308 GT Premium 1.2 Pure tech Petrol.August 18, 2021 at 9:21 am #162231Can understand the sonic bangs being a bit energetic if the Typhoons were at relatively low level. Hard to work out exactly what happened and where, at least from local press who all report different versions. Some say the flight was on approach to Leeds, some Newcastle. Moreover, the fighters’ base, Coningsby is said, variously, to be in Lincs and Notts. Whatever, still very poor performance of flight crew not to tell passengers WTF was happening. A Typhoon is an extremely sharp, pointy thing, especially when deploying flaps, slats etc and flying nose up – to fly slowly enough to shadow the airliner. Not to mention all the guns, missiles etc., hanging off wings! NOT something one would like to see from one’s airliner window.
August 18, 2021 at 11:16 am #162240Back to weather…
Cool 15c not as strong a breeze as yesterday. Very Dull gray but dry.
Have my window cleaner cleaning my gutters out. oh lord the amount of crap is unbelievable. our roof tiles are etched with a grit that washes off into the gutters, ideal for moss and grass to grow.
I have to say he has don a cracking job. Uses long tube with camera fitted and a very powerful industrial hoover.
