GeorgieSurgery now has exactly 1 full time Doctor plus one who comes in on Tuesday afternoons (and she’s universally accepted as “useless”), plus a Nurse – this for a cluster of villages with a total population of over 14,000 people. We used to have 4 full time, but the Doctor shortage has it us hard.

My GP used to be a MO in the RAF, and after that worked in Prisons as GP/MO (whatever) and with Young Offenders. So, maybe, he just doesn’t like his patients having easy access to drugs. 🙂

ThargWell, Georgie, your post explains everything. Madam T worked in HMP as an independent counsellor attached to NHS regime therein. I use the word “regime” intentionally – the whole NHS outfit was a bunch of squabbling, power-crazed nurses and doctors who were dumped into the prison service because they were no damn good working with/for the mark 1 general public. So bloody obsessed with power-struggling internal politics that needs of inmates regularly overlooked, much harm done.
Reckon that Pain Clinic might be best bet. That said, I suspect only way to get referral is to pay for a consultation with private doc.
April 13, 2020 at 9:11 am #111594“Today I” woke up with no spring in my step lol, feel a bit low today, no reason why.
My plan for today is to pot up some climbers I bought online, put on at least one washing and MAYBE get a coat of paint on the roof eaves to the back of the house ?

April 15, 2020 at 12:28 pm #111721Today I went to order something from our local screwfix via click and collect (very simple to collect you wait at the door and they bring it to you) our screwfix is next door to Aldi so not making a special trip. Anyway the item I wanted is out of stock and not available for home delivery, so there is a B&Q down the road that offer click and collect and also next to a supermarket so I thought I would have a look on the B&Q website to see if they have one.
And! Ha ha they have a virtual Queue even to look on the website. Unbelievable.

GeorgieToday I – discovered I have just been added to the Waitrose ‘priority customers’ list, which gives me access to new Delivery Slots.
I have yet to receive a Letter from the Government, or even from my GP Surgery, to inform me of this piece of vital information – I found out by sheer chance when I did my daily check to see if any slots had opened up to the general public.
If anyone else is in the same position, it might be worth your taking a gander to see if you’ve also been added without your knowledge.
April 15, 2020 at 12:56 pm #111726I’m echoing Joss’s comments Brydo.
You’re very important to your wife as her carer, and you’re very important to us on this forum as a source of daily inspiration as well as being much loved for the friendship and excellent info that you’ve shared with us all over the past two or three years (we’re your extended family, lol). Be kind to yourself and chill when you can.
April 15, 2020 at 1:30 pm #111731Thanks for the kind words Joss/Pops i appreciate them.

GeorgieBrydo – You must surely know by now that the First Rule of Caring is ‘Take Care of Yourself First’. You’ll be of no help to others if you’re crook too. 🙂
Besides. it looks like we’re going in for the long haul regarding this wretched virus and self-isolation, etc. Pace yourself or you’ll run out of ‘little projects’ and have to start a big one like building an extension, or extending the extension you already have . . .
April 15, 2020 at 5:27 pm #111742Today I have had more blood tests. Results in are not good. Full Blood count says everything is below reference limit, and by some margin.
Looks like I am heading for yet an other blood transfusion. Sigh! Also managed to get a chest infection so emergency Antibiotic prescribed.
No wonder I feel so Meh!

April 15, 2020 at 8:58 pm #111756Today instead of breaking up and burning an old pallet, I’ve decided to Bee Kind, Bee Safe, And use the things in my garden to give back to our Helpful Visitors and make a Bee/Bug Hotel. I’ve planned to make some for a while so today I did and gave it to my neighbor, it’s the first of many designs I plan to do but in light of Joss’s news I’m calling this one “jossbeelive” (I’m open to other ideas).
Bee safe and Belelive things will get better Joss. Beecause it will my friend.

BrydoGeorgie I’m looking to convert my conservatory into a proper room. I’ve been thinking about this for a few years but after this virus leaving, it will be back on the agenda. Getting builders in to do it as I’m a bit too old to be doing a job of this size.
April 16, 2020 at 8:14 am #111763Got to love you guys for your support. It is much appreciated right now. Love the “hugs” Georgie that made me all warm and fussy. Thank you Pops n Brydo n JS. Love the jossbeelive that made me smile.
Thanks all love you all to bits

GeorgieWigwam, I’m curious. When you park it in a Disabled Bay, are you legally obliged to provide a step-ladder up to the window so members of the ‘Tut-tut Brigade’ can check that you’re displaying your Blue Badge?
April 20, 2020 at 5:12 pm #111990They’re too busy complaining about the noise, Georgie, to worry about the Blue Badge.

GeorgieToday I am making Steak and Mushroom Pie for dinner, to have with real mashed potatoes and baked beans. On Sunday we made Shortbread biscuits, which lasted all of 30 minutes between us. >;-D
