I’ve just had a call from my BMW dealership to inform me that the i4 is coming on the scheme he’ll know more on Monday or Tuesday. I had an extended test drive in the active tourer schedule this morning but I’ve told him I’ll wait he’s arranged a test drive of the i4 for Tuesday so he must be in the know.

To everyones dismay who had ordered early and thier car is on the waiting list to be produced. I have some bad news. BMW have officially made the BMW i4 Msport version available now to motability users and have also added the new BMW 3 series to the range. My car is due to be built next month for delivery in March. I am now considering to cancel the order and go with the Msport version is what I wanted in the first place but was not available at the time. I will aslo try contact my dealer and see if it is possible to amend the order and go with the Msport instead of cancelling and waiting nearly another year for the whole order to be processed again.
Please, everyone, share your thoughts on this matter as I am really disappointed with BMW doing this last minute.

Maybe it’s just me – but how is it BMW’s fault that different trims & models come and go on the Motability scheme when that has always been the case for every manufacturer?

The addition of new makes and models is always good news for scheme customers. Rather selfish to think otherwise. The vehicles are never fixed. Cars join and leave the scheme daily.

Go back a page or two and you will see some have done just that and swopped to the M Sport!

@Rowein you can ask your dealer to switch the order to m sport. I had a sport order in September by dealer just switched it to m sport. Same build slot so no further waiting.
Which Msport package did you go for the tech pack or Msport pro pack with the 19″ alloy rims that look gorgeous and spoiler included!
i went with the pro pack. You get m sport adaptive suspension which makes the ride so much better, and you get 19” wheels. Downside to that is you lose around 20 miles compared to 18” wheels

If I was getting an i4 I’d go M-Sport to get Portimao Blue and to be able to get the Pro pack. The adaptive suspension alone is worth the pack price. Then I’d add Harman Kardon as a stand alone option. I’ve got Head Up Display on my current BMW and wouldn’t bother paying for it next time.
I went for the M sport tech pack, i was debating between this and the pro pack but if you lose range then im sticking with the tech pack now.
Yeah it’s tough choosing between the two packs but I care about aesthetics and the Pro pack saves me from modifying the car myself, I did not like the grey accents on the grille, hockey stick on the side. The car also drives sportier and sits lower than non-pro, gets bigger wheels with blue or red calipers, little details stand out however be prepared to have an average of 200 miles max on the e35.
I’ve also selected a second pack so adding HK even as a single option brings my AP up to 8.9K…. BMW electric cars have iconic (hans zimmer) sound, will it sound less dramatic and engaging without the surround sound? I hope not.
I decided to go for the pro pack aswell just makes the car look much more meaner and nicer imo!
Now I’m debating wether to add HK system with that but will bring the AP up another £900 which not sure is worth it as the car is not owned andnwill be going back after a few years, don’t mind payin a little more for Msport though..
Has anyone added the stock privacy windows for extra £250?
I have added them but thinking to remove it and get it done myself at 5% as the bmw stock ones are around 20% and only on back sides and rear, 20% which is a bit too light for me i prefer it blacked out to go with the all black color code, whats your guys thoughts on the stock pricacy windows?

Good choice, which colour did you get? Did you go with 19” wheels or 18s?
Regarding the tints, I think it’s better getting them done by third party, it will cost less and you can get darker tints installed which will make the car look more aggressive. I’ve been quoted £180 to get all rear windows tinted limo black
Unfortunately have had to cancel my order. The car is too long and low to drive down our driveway without bottoming out on the battery pack. The Highways dept (LCC) asked to deal with the road/pavement subsidence to no avail.
Have ordered an KIA EV6 GT Line AWD – delivery 31/01 after test drive. Lovely car.

2005 - 2017 Honda CRV Exec 2.0d@tvs That seems disappointing I know you were excited for the i4 and honestly if you drove it slow I doubt it would cause issues, it would’ve been useful to give it a go, maybe if they let you test drive one for 24 hours? Also there’s the option of the iX1 or 3 series.
But I hope you enjoy the EV6 anyway it seems like a nice car to have.
Thanks AKX, did attempt with an i4 slowly entering our driveway, without work to the road gully area or a new driveway it is not possible. Due to Leeds City Council Highways budget constrictions they cannot even repair all the potholes in the area!
The EV6 comes close to the i4 for driver envolvement, performance even stronger.
