I’ve just had a call from my BMW dealership to inform me that the i4 is coming on the scheme he’ll know more on Monday or Tuesday. I had an extended test drive in the active tourer schedule this morning but I’ve told him I’ll wait he’s arranged a test drive of the i4 for Tuesday so he must be in the know.

Seems unfair on those who just missed out before, that the tech pack is not included either..
December 6, 2023 at 12:53 pm #250983@pauld If you check on the motability site it does say “[tech pack]” so it will be included, you can check with your BMW dealer as well.

Well, that could just be another Motability mistake, as I’ve noticed that the Tech Pack has not been a selectable option on the i4 Sport for well over a month now.
As to the facelift version, July 24 seems to be the production date, so very few on here with a car on order will get it. People who order now, on the other hand, are bound to get it.
As to AKX’s claim that BMW are using up production stock. I mean ????? ?

Existing orders like my own are being pushed back by a month and so new orders will be longer waiting times so why would motability have it back on the scheme…December 6, 2023 at 3:50 pm #251006@72dudes I’m not sure if you have checked the BMW configurator you can select the tech pack as well as every other pack no problem so I don’t know what you’ve seen.
And yeah it’s like they are trying to get rid of all the old parts that won’t be used in the facelift and allowing more people to buy the car so it’s all cleared up lol it doesn’t make sense at this point when a new model is about to be released.

That’s strange, I’ve just tried it again and still no Tech Pack, just the Comfort Plus pack at just over £2k.
Maybe it’s my phone ?

2017 - Audi Q3 TFSi Sport S-TronicDecember 6, 2023 at 5:38 pm #251018Just spoke to motability… the vehicle does seem to be up on the website for people to order however the website link is dead and the motability agent said there is an issue with ordering the car from the manufacturer hence the motability page isn’t up yet.
Does seem strange to introduce the vehicle on the scheme when there a supposedly a facelift on the horizon (with probably a price hike) and all orders will be manufactured after the facelift. However I am happy others might be able to order – just wondering how much communication there is between BMW and motability right now
December 6, 2023 at 5:40 pm #251019If the msport is added, I will cancel and reorder lol
December 12, 2023 at 12:12 pm #251370just checked with bmw, ordered 2nd sept. status 111. production week has been pushed back to the 18th of feb now, was the 5th before i checked, kind of annoying, as currently without no car, hopefully still means i get it for first/second week of march.
December 12, 2023 at 12:27 pm #251371Mine is also on 111 and build is on week 7 which commences 12th February. Lets hope it stays that way as I am also without a car. I ordered on the 7th August.
December 12, 2023 at 1:48 pm #251388Also still 111,
but mine had recently been delayed 2 months! (8 weeks!) how does that even happen! Hoping it goes back towards April delivery next month:/
thankfully, I am with a car. I hope you guys get your cars asap and post pics!!
December 12, 2023 at 3:36 pm #251396……also still 111.
I ordered on 24th August and approx build date 18th March for April delivery
December 15, 2023 at 4:51 pm #251579Also still 111, I was expecting a delivery on 1st March.
Ordered on 8th August and going into production week 7, now the new delivery date is 11th March.
Just spoke to the dealer even if the i4 is facelifted in Q1 2024 we will still be receiving the current model and not the LCI unless MB update their list.
December 15, 2023 at 4:55 pm #251582@AKX this is impossible as if an LCI starts production the outgoing model is no longer produced – so you cannot receive the current model unless it had already been built – and there is no reservoir of prebuilt cars.
I believe if an LCI begins production motability customers will either get the LCI or orders will be cancelled.
December 15, 2023 at 5:01 pm #251583Don’t think the face lift will be in production until summer of 24 anyway
December 15, 2023 at 5:04 pm #251584Guys, the facelift model is not entering production until JULY 2024.
I’m not sure who has given you the impression that there’s a chance you’ll get the facelift model before around August.

I would agree. BMW don’t tend to build cars speculatively like many manufacturers do, as most customers add options and all cars are built to order. When the production line switches that’s it – all new cars will be the facelift. I doubt that orders would be cancelled as the facelift is minor. They don’t tend to switch production in Q1 though. Usually around June from memory. Have there been any formal announcements about the facelift? If not, that would suggest it’s still some time away.
P.S. am I correct in thinking that the i4 was originally on the scheme for less than the current £5.495?
December 15, 2023 at 5:18 pm #251586I am aware that it will not go into production Q1 I was just saying hypothetically if it did and when I asked they said we would still receive the current model and that makes sense because even with minor changes on the LCI we would still have to configure it all over again.
I seem to be the only one selecting the laser lights option and that’s one of the main differences on LCI which I may not require to select as an extra option since all the facelift headlights are pretty much upgraded as standard.
@GlosGuy in August the AP was £4999 and increased in Oct.
December 15, 2023 at 5:42 pm #251587@AKX I hope you enjoy! The laser lights in my opinion make the car look so much more aesthetic, and even though it is just a minor design change to the front, the blue highlights really make the car look beautiful (alongside the obvious better performance). To other posters, I also believe there will not be an LCI until June/July 24, but the point being made is that the order queue is now well into that territory for those making orders recently, so motability should be evaluating what is going to be done. The fact that motability and BMW actually reintroduced the car onto the scheme whilst build dates were already into summer 24 makes me assume both parties are happy to approve the LCI for motab customers – but hey, I’m just assuming common sense and that they have things thought out – which is a big assumption these days!
December 15, 2023 at 6:17 pm #251590@AKX Thanks for the info. I thought it was £5k previously.
There have been previous examples of people ordering a car and receiving the facelift due to long build times. The simple fact remains that once the LCI goes into production there’s no physical way that you can get the pre facelift model. It just can’t happen as the cars won’t exist! I don’t think orders would be cancelled, nor do I think that you’d have to order again. You’d just get the LCI model. It may have more standard kit but, equally, standard kit might have been removed ?
FWIW I wouldn’t be surprised if the £500 hike in AP reflects the fact that the expectation is that those ordering now are getting the LCI model.
December 15, 2023 at 8:20 pm #251593hi,
if it helps, here is part of the conversation I had with bmw genius;
ME: are you aware if there are any changes eg facelift at that time thanks
BMW: That is a very good question, potentially early quarters of next year could be the time BMW Group announces the LCI for the ‘4 ‘; this means 4 Series, M4 an i4.December 15, 2023 at 11:30 pm #251601hi, if it helps, here is part of the conversation I had with bmw genius; ME: are you aware if there are any changes eg facelift at that time thanks BMW: That is a very good question, potentially early quarters of next year could be the time BMW Group announces the LCI for the ‘4 ‘; this means 4 Series, M4 an i4.
Not much of a ‘genius’ when the answer they gave was basically ‘haven’t got a clue’ ?
December 16, 2023 at 9:31 am #251605Seems some confusion so hope this helps .Any orders of bmw i4 up until now will not get the facelift model .Bmw are keeping the present i4 on the scheme until orders/built and delivered can be met by end of may24..At that point the present i4 will leave the scheme..Due to the facelift going into productiom end of june /early july ..No plans for the facelift as of yet to join the scheme(july onwards but subject to change)according to synther bmw.
