I know a few of us are eagerly awaiting delivery of these so thought I’d make a thread so we can all keep track of updates etc

Ordered ultimate Misty jungle (with light leather) on 9th November. Delivery slated for end of March. Dealer has had no update yet.

Hi Angus mine is a Motability vehicle and I paid by debit card – I have an account set up with Motability and I was expecting to pay that way – but no – dealer couldn’t do it that way – what I don’t know is if credit cards are acceptable – like I say credit card was fine – I assume it will be the same across the dealerships.
You may want to consider Hyundai carpets – there are cheaper ones on Amazon etc but reports suggest they don’t fit as well.
I think they were approximately £50 plus vat.
A few of us have bought them and I haven’t seen any negatives posted.

        Enjoy your car ???

you can pay via cc, but you need to pay 3 days in advance so it clears before you take possession.

Hi all does anyone else have a problem with the digital radio where is keeps cutting out? I can only get a couple of stations to keep signal. It can be fine then just cut out, sometimes sitting at lights it’s fine then cuts out then returns a few seconds later despite the car not moving. I’ve spoken to Hyundai maybe they might be able to help. Any help or advise much appreciated.

Payment of the AP is at the discretion of the dealership, here they all take debit or credit cards. Not had an issue with digital radio, although rarely use it.

The mats retailed at £58.49 inc VAT; some dealers will discount by 10% as you have purchased a car from them. They fit well and the quality is very good.

Just taken delivery of a Kona EV ultimate which was ordered on 5th Feb.

However dealer told me that they have just stopped taking orders for all Hyundai EVs on motability (he didn’t seem to know if it was permanent or temporary) and that current wait times are over a year if you order today.

Fantastic news, and pretty quick too. Let everyone on here know what you think of the car. The Kona came off Motability a few weeks back, maybe the facelift version will re-appear soon for those who want to go down the EV route?

I ordered my Kona Ultimate on August 1st this year and was given an approximate delivery date of 1st March ’23. The dealer rang me a couple of weeks ago and said it had gone to June 23 now! However I rand the 0800 981981 and they wanted the order number so I had to contact the dealership again and was given the info but when Leanne looked on their screen apparently my vehicle is now scheduled to be shipped in November with a delivery date, to me, sometime in January!! I rang the  0800 number again and they are checking and will get back to me. By the way I have no reason not to believe the dealer :-)!!.

Hi thanks for the information regarding advance payment. I just had a email from dealership saying they accept credit card up to £500 same for debit so I’ve paid £499 via bank transfer and can pay balance when I pick it up. Regarding mats I’ve ordered some from Amazon @ about £40 so will see how they are.

Probably charging on at home on an overnight cheap rate like Octopus Go.

Journey cost calculator looks more like cost of using public rapid charging.

Charging overnight on a 7.5p per kw tariff works out 1.4p per mile appx

I meant to add to the above comment,  appx 1.4p per mile in summer, increasing to 1.7p in winter. More or less.

Hi all, love how this forum keeps on going! Keep up the great work everyone please!

We heard from Hyundai via messenger that our expected delivery to Tilbury is still showing 3rd November and when pressed, they said that if it’s showing that, it’s fair to assume that the at has at least been built. That will be 9 months from ordering (22nd February 22 ordered) which although frustrating, is comfortably faster than lots of others!

Quick couple of questions, does anyone know the possible boats likely to be used so I can try and track it (just in case it is on it!) as I reckon the boat has either just left or about to depart South Korea. I tried going back through the forum but to be quite honest, there’s just too many pages lol ?

And secondly, when did people start receiving their VIN number as that seems to be the first real indicator that the car is imminent?

Keep up the good work every one ????

Hi Tim, Above is the latest schedule of shipping from Eukor, basically a subsidiary of Hyundai and below is the link so you can check whenever you wish. Please be aware there are other ships from other shipping lines which Hyundai also use. I received my VIN when the car was en route, but it´s normal to get it once the Ship has docked.

Hi all,we have a Kona ultimate from January this year, originally my husband ordered it but sadly his health means he no longer drives so I’m responsible for driving duties and arranging the maintenance.our last car was a Skoda superb which was due its first service after two years so I have to say it came as a big surprise when the Kona gets serviced every 10,000 miles.

I assume it must be for checking of the main battery as there appears to be little else to check.one good thing was it only took 50 minutes to complete the service so for anyone paying for their own servicing it should in theory be cheaper too.

Hi Tim – I got my VIN when the shipped docked – early deliveries customers got their VIN soon after their ship sailed.
I think VIN’s got later in the cycle as the demand for knowing when customers were going to get their cars became longer and more intense – or to put it another way they whimped out and waited till it was on uk soil.
I think for most of us it became real when we knew it had been unloaded at Tilbury and within 2-3 weeks would be at the dealership – hope it happens for you soon – the car is great and well worth the wait.

It is easily done fwippers – when I took pictures of my car with the wind deflectors fitted I used a photo app to brush out most of the background and although I made a joke about it – I was mindful of reflections.
I take loads of screenshots to jog my memory about various stuff – I find images more immediate and easier than text – but I almost always crop them to just the screen or relevant portion.

Back to topic – one of the many things I like about the Kona is the rear view camera, sensors and excellent turning circle – as I almost always park in blue badge space when shopping (I need door completely open to haul myself in and out).
These spaces are almost always near front of the store with very busy pedestrian traffic coming from every direction – so I am grateful for every visual aid and bleep going – turning my head much more than 90 degrees is an issue.
