We have down sized our living quarters to a smaller room, yet more space due to lack of contents ie dining area/living room combined..

Were moving into a different room with bills/heating in mind for the winter..

Ive got a space on the wall for a slightly larger and more upto date TV from the much discussed aged Samsung that I think Mike has too.

      Lets just say 3 years for a £500ish LG 50/55” non oled….

will this type Tv last 3yrs, by then the oled should be down I price too, can’t see any lasting as long as my old Samsung just a shame it’s so dated, and not upto my needs and wants anymore.

Your better of looking at dedicated electronics review sites such as What Hifi, Expert Review and AVforum, rather than relying on a journo 🙂

Amazon Fire TV Omni looks good value, but I would have to look more in depth.

Soooo looking through a box Mrs aj found the receipt of the 12 yr old Samsung £229 Sainsbury’s with reward points too..

Now this tv works perfect still, the apps are all out dated and have been for a while.,

So if I spend lots on a great tv maybe the updates will stop just like this one..

Think I’m going Samsung air slim 50”

What apps have stopped and do they just need updating or are they Samsung apps no longer supported?

Thinks it’s the Samsung stuff on it, no updates available (could be wrong, remember Mrs saying ages ago)

However for that price and time viewed and owned todate was a great buy at the time..

Tbh kezo just want a upto date type tv, 2022/2023 soon 2024..

I can now get YouTube via the box thing, previous post..

I have just applied the other day for an Amazon fire 4 series, 55in 4k. tv for £150 for Prime members, I think it is normally £550.

It is by invitation for new and existing Prime members on a limited number of tv’s (no mention of how many) and applicants will be notified between November the 22nd and the 25th, with an 8 hour window to order it, if they have been chosen. I will let you know if I have been lucky.

If you are lucky enough to get the offer its a OKish entry level 2021 TV  for a very good price but, there are much better TV’s around at its normal price point.

Yes kezo, I would never dream of buying it a t anywhere near the original price, I am not sure if I would put it in my bedroom instead of my 37in Panasonic 4k or more likely give it to my dad as a Xmas present for his bedroom. As I already have a LG 65in wallpaper tv in my living room.

No luck, although I did get an email telling me they were over subscribed and offering me all their other TV’s with small reductions. Not only have I declined the offer, but all the other stuff I bought on Black Friday deals are going back on Tuesday, I have went in the huff with them.

Brought the LG 55 C1 Oled a few months back for a reduced price of £720

Its Dolby Atmos and its been a dream to watch

Heavy TV once the stand is fitted even tho the screen is very thin just a few mm

Stand attached by laying the TV on its box followed by heart stopping moments as it was slowly raised ( 2 people ) onto its solid oak home

You could see and feel the screen flexing when lifting no matter how carefully you handled it

Once stood upright and in position the thing is as solid as a rock, you can but would not personally want to have to wall mount

Ive now opened a can of worms as the TVs picture quality calls out for a Sonos sound bar ( another £700+  but that wont be just yet ) kept quiet about this and havent told the wife about the Sonos Sub or rear speakers that are on my list, Shhhh

Christmas tree up in November. Or am I just being a Grinch!

Nice TV mate & the picture quality on them are excellent. I have the LG G1 (gallery series) OLED, that comes with a bracket rather than a stand, when mounteded it fits flush to the wall (TV same thickness all over) I use a 7.1ch Denon AV amp connected to my Hifi surround system.

Yep christmas tree up .. much to my displeasure

The Mrs will follow with the usuak  hanging up of all sorts of glitter shedding Tat ho ho ho

Your set up sounds  ideal..nice mrs didnt want it wall mounted atbh just getting the TV up on the cabinet was scary enough

The weight is in its huge rear stand

Now up it aint moving till it blows lol

My TV also has the gallery feature which is hardly used as the TV is usually only switched on when the Mrs soaps are due to comd on

At which point its head phones on for me and away I go on my laptop lol

I keep the headphones on even if I have switched off the bluetooth lol
