So with the new Quarter coming on Tuesday next week
What car are you “HOPING” will appear and a rough deposit you’d be happy to lay down for it?
I personally am hoping for the Omoda 9 SHS ( currently have a BYD Seal U DM-i on order ) and I’d be happy with a similar deposit of £6k.
I'm blunt and straight to the point and I make no apologies for it!

Tesla are doing a 3K contribution to new pcp deals. 48 months at £405 per month. Question, do you hand the car back at the end of a pcp? Autotrader has listed used tesla loads @ 25k.
can you share the link, please? I don’t see any change on Tesla website since last month on private PCP.

July 1, 2025 at 1:16 pm #307555Out of interest why are we concerned about a Tesla that’s more per month for less mileage allowance, no insurance/servicing/breakdown?

July 1, 2025 at 1:21 pm #307560XC40 now £3199 AP.
8 months ago it was £1500.
I do wonder what if anything will be affordable when my lease expires. Plus I’ve long since lost my no claims bonus since being on the scheme so I would struggle to afford running a private car now.

You have 3 options with a PCP. 1) Hand the car back at the end of the lease period with no further commitment and nothing to show for it (same as Motability lease) 2) Pay a final one off payment to own the car outright 3) The car will usually be worth more than the final payment, so any ‘profit’ above that is used as a deposit for your next car at no cost to you (most people on PCPs do this as it’s what makes them attractive).
However, if you want an EV, IMHO you’d be mad to buy a new one. If it absolutely must be a brand new one (which is only new for a few months anyway) then I wouldn’t look further than Motability. Due to the crippling depreciation that EVs suffer, if you want to buy one privately the bargains on the second hand market are substantial as demand for them is so low.

Most insurance companies will now honour a no claims history earned on a Motability car. Some restrict it to 3 years, but that’s enough to provide a substantial reduction.

because in long run it could be a good deal (providing you keep it after the pcp).

July 1, 2025 at 2:38 pm #307573omg wmc pity no auto lol.
but realistically i am not going to get in/out these days, what a shame great price too.
July 1, 2025 at 2:52 pm #307574Yeah, shame no automatic MX-5.
I believe the little roadster is due a minor refresh/tweak any day now. Probably explains why it’s reappeared on the scheme after a lengthy lay-off (selling off the ‘older’ model).
Fingers crossed it stays on the scheme for when I next order & the auto with a metal folding roof is added.
It’s very low to the ground… but I’d painfully twist & contort my body every time to get in and out of such a sexy little machine!

Not once you’ve taken delivery. You can cancel right up until the day of collection (although it’s very unfair on the dealer to do that), but once you enter your PIN you are in a 3 year contract.
July 1, 2025 at 5:43 pm #307591The Kia Sorento is the most interesting addition, for those of us that need a big boot for electric wheelchair and hoist while still having some room for luggage.
Can’t argue with @wmcforum though, the Honda Jazz is a great shout for those without specific needs.
If I seem a little strange, that's because I am.

I agree if you can obtain 0% APR on second had EVs (and yes, you can on some).
N.B. As to the above £3,000 contribution, it is not Tesla’s contribution, as I thought, but simply an advanced payment.

Looks like tesla contribution to me, you can add a 1k and its now a 4k.
Sorry for hijacking the thread, but just to show whats out there.
July 2, 2025 at 5:34 am #307626You can keep your big shiny badges, lording in a grand SUV, twin screens with bings and bongs. THE Honda Jazz is on the Scheme at Nil Advance Payment. Heated seats and steering wheel, easy 60 miles per gallon from the punchy 1.5 litre hybrid engine, more space than you could ever believe. Go Try. Goodnight. Mic drop.
Totally agree lovely little car very well made in Japan digital dash etc looks nice in red

If you don’t have size/space/storage requirements it’s definitely worth a try. If you need something bigger, it’s not always seeking a badge, or lording in a big SUV, some people genuinely need the extra height/space only these cars can provide.

July 2, 2025 at 10:58 am #307640Extra space needed, however defo don’t need the huge Advanced payments, what are they for anyway….
If the payments we receive isn’t enough to cover the cost, then someone needs to either up our payment, lower the AP, or don’t put expensive stuff in the scheme…
Guess I should apologise for health conditions and being 6’3” lol..

Disabled person doesn’t mean by definition lack of resources. Some may have some money like accident compensation and they deserve driving “expensive stuff” on the scheme. I have no issue with it and wish them all the best. The problem I have that the majority of vehicles on the scheme don’t suite me, unless I want to end up driving a bus:
I need a big boot to accommodate my 8 stones working dog, plus my basketball wheelchair. I need high commanding sitting position to ensure my knee is properly bent and I won’t dislocate the patella whilst driving, I require a lumbar support for L4-L5 and those things don’t come cheap. I never had a car on the scheme without paying extra several thousands of pounds.

Size 7 pair of shoes, same price as size 10, However there’s no price difference, yet one won’t on the size 10 foot.

I would be in like flying for this machine, I think I could put up with the discomfort.
But I think my mobility scooter and hoist would be a chore 😎👎
July 2, 2025 at 12:54 pm #307658A shame Mazda MX5 RF have dropped the Automatic in uk.

But no BYD Seal? I can’t understand why.
