So with the new Quarter coming on Tuesday next week

What car are you “HOPING” will appear and a rough deposit you’d be happy to lay down for it?

I personally am hoping for the Omoda 9 SHS ( currently have a BYD Seal U DM-i on order ) and I’d be happy with a similar deposit of £6k.

I'm blunt and straight to the point and I make no apologies for it!

At last, a large AWD Diesel Auto back on the scheme. Kia Sorento AWD. Not too shabbily priced. Should make a good towing vehicle.

Great to see the BMW X1 2.0i petrol join today, albeit just in 2WD form. Oddly all 3 trim levels are the same price (£3,999). M-Sport is the one to go for. Paying the same price for the lower spec (and less attractive) Sport model makes no sense at all and the X-Line has the ugliest wheels that BMW have put on a car for many years!

Have to say that I’m surprised, but I notice that the X1 PHEV has disappeared (BMW PHEVs seem to come and go with great regularity) and, more surprisingly, the iX1 has gone. Maybe the latter is a temporary withdrawal and the petrol X1 is a temporary replacement? Who knows. If the petrol X1 remains, maybe in the future it might be bundled with one or more of the desirable option packs?

EDIT – Just noticed that the Motability search tool says that the 20i is a 1.5 litre engine. If that’s the case it’s the 3 cylinder engine, not the superbly smooth, quiet, powerful and economical 2.0i engine that we had in our last generation X1. I can’t tell from the BMW website configurator, but it says it’s 170 hp which is around 20 hp down on the usual 2.0i output. @kezo do you know?

            Which Mobility Car

You can keep your big shiny badges, lording in a grand SUV, twin screens with bings and bongs.

THE Honda Jazz is on the Scheme at Nil Advance Payment.

Heated seats and steering wheel, easy 60 miles per gallon from the punchy 1.5 litre hybrid engine, more space than you could ever believe. Go Try. Goodnight. Mic drop.

Typical, the one car that I’m  interested in, the Cupra born as been taken off.

As anybody else noticed the price of the Kia EV6, its the same price right across the board from the Air (which if I  remember right is the basic spec) to the GT S .

Still not ordered or seen much of interest, Volvo going back November, tbh all seems expensive for very basic stuff, AP very high in my opinion cash back offers/new car payments should be a lot higher..

Possible Nissan SUV if I had too, however still expensive..

                    Current 1.5 3cyl engines – 18i 156hp (not available for X1) – 20i 170hp (48v mild hybrid).

The 1.5 isn’t the most reliable of BMW engines having mixed reputation and is known for it’s vibrations, occasinal misfire under load etc.

Thanks @kezo My hunch was right then. I’ve actually watched one or two reviews of the X1 PHEV (same engine) and they said that the engine sounded good and performed well, with no mention of those issues but, regardless, it wouldn’t appeal. I’d want the 2.0i petrol again, which seems to be the 23i model, which I can’t see joining the scheme (mind you, I didn’t think that the 20i would either – I thought we were only going to get EV or PHEV models).

We were in Suffolk last week and there was a car dealership in Ipswich with a load of second hand (but still quite new) Tesla’s. I couldn’t believe how cheap they were, even for ones that were just 2 years old!

                                  What I’ve noticed so far:

                                  Nissan Ariya has gone

Ford Capri has dropped in price, the top offering of the Premium 77kWh with Driver’s Assistance Pack was £4,945  Now £3,245

KIA EV3 is on the scheme but not cheap

EV6 is back but someone may have messed up the pricing, they’re all £7,999 who’s going to buy the Air for the same price as the GT LineS?

Merc has returned the EQA, same model up to £5,999 from £3499 (if I remember correctly?).  I hope they’ve told their dealerships we’re allowed in now.

Hyundai have knocked £1800 off the Ioniq 5 Ultimate with Tech Max pack, maybe they heard me whining?

Elroq, as predicted has taken the quarter off, hopefully Skoda catch up with their orders and bring it back for Q4, it’s still a great car.  Pricing will have to be competitive with the EV3 on scheme, that’s won awards for a reason.

Hyundai and KIA (and Genesis) are under the same umbrella company, like Stellantis and Peugeot,  Vauxhall, Jeep etc.  Both Hyundai and KIA will share some mechanical parts but the bodies, design and equipment levels are all different.  In theory they’re marketed as Hyundai being more ‘budget’ then KIA and the luxury Genesis.

PCP will typically have a lump sum payment to keep the car, this guaranteed future value they put on the car is supposed to be a little less than anticipated market price so you can either trade in for a new deal with a little equity, buy for a good price or simply return the car and walk away.

48v is the basic form of hybrid and hasa small battery incorporated in the starter generator, which acts as a modern form of stop start and aids with initial pull off.

The battery in the 1.5 PHEV 25e (245hp), 30e, (326hp) similar to ours, hides a multitude of engine sins, as the battery power is always there…

Ford Explorer and Capri are relative bargains compared to some like the EV3, good to see it on the scheme,  and the EV6 which is a fantastic car but way too expensive.

I had discounted both Fords as the wife wasn’t keen on the seats but I feel another visit to the dealership is on the cards.

KIA on the scheme is a good thing, however, they seem to believe they’re better than they really are.  Nobody is going to jump at an EV6 for 8 grand.  Not many will be excited about the EV3 GT LineS at £6,249 Not when the top IOniq 5 has dropped 1800 to become a whole grand less.  I know which I’d rather have and I was really keen on the EV3 joining the scheme.

The Fords were nice cars for too much money.  I think the head office listened to the numerous dealerships telling them exactly that.  At 5 grand for the top available Capri, it made no sense, at 3 and a quarter it makes a lot more sense and I bet more will go and give them a fair hearing now.  I know when I went to look I was expecting something to justify the price tag, which was a step too far.  It would have been nice for the MachE to have dropped some as well.

The EV6 looks great and by all accounts is a very good car unfortunately it’s too low for the wife to get in and out easily and of course the AP is eye wateringly high.
