The place to share what you’re doing, thinking, planning on a daily basis, with a group of sociable friends and acquaintances.

BrydoI agree I always thought Tharg and Georgie brought an extra bit of class to the forum topics. I hope both of them are keeping well and their hiatus is temporary.
February 24, 2023 at 3:46 pm #210295Hi all
Thanks for your kind comments. Reason for not posting dates back to August in the “caught your eye in the news” thread. Specifically to comments about the stabbing of a disabled person by a black assailant. The comments quickly turned to the pronouncements of Enoch Powell and, in my view, became offensively racist. I simply couldn’t be doing with that.

Apologies Tharg if I offended you with my EP comment. I’m certainly no racist given my best mate is of colour, neither would he do anyone harm! 🙂

Have you seen anything as its way too cloudy here?
I’m fascinated with the sky, all week Ive been looking at Venus and Jupiter in line with the crescent of the moon. Initially they looked very close together but have drifted further apart over the week but still visable with out too much clousd. The aurora borealis is something Ive always wanted to see 🙂
February 28, 2023 at 8:33 am #210512It was hissing it down here @Kezo so no chance of seeing it at all. Maybe next time eh.

Previous car:Peugeot 308 GT Premium 1.2 Pure tech Petrol.March 2, 2023 at 11:53 am #213610It was spicy.. I may have overdone it slightly but still it was good. Those beans still had a bit of bite in them. Might cook them down a bit more next time. Still it’s a nice change from a tinned one. Enough to go it freezer for another time too.
A nice looking waste plug that Joss.
The one in my bathroom is ancient and leaks.
Time to do dishes then afternoon I might go for a drive

ajnOh sorry struth forgot to mention the recipe/meal you posted.
Spicy can be varied to an individuals taste, for me I cant have the blow your head of strength as after one fork full, I can’t taste a thing..
Sausages anyone buy a certain type from supermarkets, butchers etc..
We enjoyed Debbie & Andrews sausages, had sun dried tomatoes in them, Sicilian I think, can’t find them lately though..
(Toad in the hole, not road in the hole, posted in my other reply)

Agreed!
We have a bath plug with twist action where the overflow normaly goes, always failing and have now resorted to an old credit card to prize the plug up after a bath. Must fix it one day when I’m in the mood 🙂

BertyWe are quite lucky 56N and see Aurora quite often.
It has to be a really strong display to see the colours by eye, and they do not happen very often.
But as people have said, it all depends on UK weather and that is usually the problem viewing an aurora.
Most of the time the display is a grey cloud you see by eye, and only cameras bring out the colour.
There are other displays which are more impressive, and that is Noctilucent Clouds.
These are easily visible looking North during June/July, and exquisite.
I’ve had a few pix picked up by the dailys, NASA and JPL with NLC’s.
I first took pix of the Aurora in 2003 with a 3mp Camera- at that time it was cutting edge…lol.
Last Week when I went out, our favourite Loch was jam packed with people out taking pix, the car parks were full – all good!
