WOW. Thank goodness I got my car last quarter.
April 1, 2024 at 10:20 am #270597Will take a look at the Toyota RAV4
It’s the Design model so doesn’t get full vinyl seats.
Yep, see my post above yours. I have a check list of 11 ‘must have’ features and another 11 ‘preferred’ features. The only SUV that I can find that will give me all 22 features is the Mazda CX-60 with the addition of the £1,100 Driver Assistance Pack. Based on the spec check I’ve just done, the RAV4 misses 9 of them. I suspect that some of the 9 are present but not listed in the spec, but there are no option packs, or even options, for the other missing items. I’d also be wary of the Toyota infotainment system which is usually rated as one of the weakest on the market. No idea how good the Mazda system is, but it isn’t touchscreen and has a rotary controller, which gets a big thumbs up from me (and all the reviewers in the various video reviews I’ve watched).
April 1, 2024 at 10:26 am #270599Toyota RAV4 PHEV with a £7999 AP, the Suzuki Across the same vehicle with a higher spec now down to £4999, that £3,000 difference especially now lease are only 3 years.
Whilst I wouldn’t want a Suzuki, I agree that the RAV4 is overpriced. I’ve just done a detailed spec and performance check against my list of essential and ideal features and it won’t be making my shortlist. If I’m going to spend £20k (£8k AP plus £12k sacrificed benefits) I’d rather have the Mazda CX-60, which is bigger, far better equipped, more powerful and has a more premium interior than the RAV4. Shame, as we owned a previous generation RAV4 privately for 10 years as we loved it so much.
The Rav4 is a rip off considering that and the Across are built in the same Toyota factory.
Performance wise there is 0.2s between them but, the Rav & Across shine with a superior hybrid system 48 vs 37 electric miles. Toyota’s Rav variants I remember were of much smoother ride.

Namsan down to £3449 confirmed
April 1, 2024 at 10:29 am #270601Mazda CX-60 with the addition of the £1,100 Driver Assistance Pack.
Have a search on this or ask someone on here. It may be more trouble than its worth if I remember!

@kezo The RAV4 spec shows torque as only 227nm. Surely that can’t be correct? The CX-60 is 500nm.April 1, 2024 at 10:38 am #270603That’s one hell of a lot of car for that money. I’d be interested to see what the rest look like.

Confused. Are you suggesting that there are problems with some features in this pack? I’m not overly bothered about adaptive cruise control (didn’t like it on our Tiguan) as it has normal cruise control as standard, but I’d miss adaptive headlights and that pack is the only way to get them.
April 1, 2024 at 10:48 am #270607Will all the prices be correct as of now, not likely to change later today?
Of the cars on my list, the Renault Austral Alpine stays the same, Nissan Qashqai N-Connecta up £300 and the Toyota Corolla TS which is my current car, up a massive £600.

April 1, 2024 at 11:07 am #270611Keep an eye on Motability’s own Facebook page, they’re having great difficulty and are working hard to get the updates on their site.

The prices listed on the search are all correct, they will stay the same now until July 1st. The only thing that will change over the coming days will be a small amount of additional cars added if previous quarters are used as a guide.

The Austral I’ve been watching has changed. Base model up by £300 but the two higher specs still the same.

Toyota doesn’t quote the combined torque only that of the petrol engine because of the PHEV’s intricate powertrain varies significantly depending on the driving mode (electric-only, hybrid, or combined).
Petrol engine: 227Nm
Front electric motor: 270Nm
Rear electric motor: 121Nm
Combined will be similar to the cx60.

Some one on here and also mentioned several times on the cx60 (cx70) forum they wish they didn’t spec it. I can’t remember whether it was an irritant, LKA or other. Ma be worth looking into 🙂

April 1, 2024 at 11:29 am #270620Great news. I ordered the Megane Iconic last month so will phone up for that 150 quid saving!
April 1, 2024 at 11:36 am #270625Lovely stuff. Got the nod last weekend from Hyundai dealer in Liverpool that the Ioniq 5 would see a big drop in AP’s, and they weren’t wrong.
I’ve got the Ultimate RWD Tech on reserve (ready for my mid April order date), and it’s come down by about £1800! Result.
Tempted to bump up to the Namsan for the same price i was going to pay, but don’t think it’s worth it tbh.
April 1, 2024 at 11:37 am #270626Full Ioniq 5 prices. That’s a lot f car for £299 and a lot of tech for £3349 whether you opt for an AWD Ultimate with tech pack or the Namsan Edition.
No N though?

April 1, 2024 at 11:43 am #270627Glad I picked i4 up in time but if I was picking off this list the ioniq 5 looks very good value.

Suzuki Across/Toyota RAV4 PHEV HV Sports mode use both the ICE unit 227 Nm and front electric motor only 270Nm = 497 Nm.

Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally say the wrong thing.

The big differences are the panoramic roof, heat pump and the digital mirrors. When you think the heat pump is £995 as an add on alone, the roof and mirrors plus a few little bits are relatively inexpensive.
I’ve found the mirrors useful in rainy conditions as the windows/mirror combination getting wet really messes with the view but the DSM is still clear unless you happen to get one rain drop in a well protected place.
It’s really a question of sun roof plus a money saving heat pump and a real talking point in those mirrors (I am still having conversations nearly 2 months into ownership about the mirrors).

April 1, 2024 at 12:04 pm #270632From the Motability website, dated today 1st April 2024 – Here is Motability’s take on ‘Discover Great Value’ (sic) that they are offering this quarter:
Latest Motability Scheme Price List 2024 – Discover great value in our wide range of cars
April 1, 2024 at 12:14 pm #270634Well, somewhat relieved I think. Will be sticking with the ID4 Style Pro that’s currently on order. Doesn’t look as though the Explorer is making an appearance, and nothing else has tempted me, AP wise. Although …… Namsang Ioniq is a huge drop ??
I think ill stick with id4 pro style too, i like that the enyaq has reduced compared to id4s £1499 but don’t think its enough to change and be put back of que again ? also considered e3008 but dont fancy electric car from stallantis group.

Well they certainly aren’t on the same planet as me!
“As manufacturers move their attention to electric vehicles (EVs), we’re able to bring more choice to the Scheme. Their change in focus means that that some petrol and many diesel models are being phased out. We’re starting to see prices increase for those that continue to be available.”
I can only submise this is inpart to fund their electric vehicle revolution off the back of ICE/Hybrid.
