April 1, 2024 at 8:37 am #270563They are all coming on so exciting
April 1, 2024 at 8:41 am #270564Saw on MB website Enyaq Sportline+ Estate £1599 (-£500) Ioniq 5 Namsan RWD £3499 (-£2500) managed to search these 2 but now the site is going crazy!
Omg I’m supposed to pick up my Namsan next week. Will I still have to pay £5,999 or can I get the new £3499 price? That’s a huge difference.
April 1, 2024 at 8:44 am #270565Morning, sorry I have not been around so much – circumstances dictate and all that.
So we have lost 33 cars total is 894.
I will run through the full list on the ‘number thread, but can initially see that it’s not all good news, we have lost the BMW i4, 3 series touring and 2 series tourer, we have gained the Audi Q3 and Smart hashtag1 in pro plus.
I am sure over the coming hours and days the list will fill out, no need for absolute panic just yet.

Speak with your dealer and request they resubmit the Motability paperwork at the lower AP.
April 1, 2024 at 9:09 am #270574Well seems everything ice I was looking at has gone up £500 or more.
Seems very out of whack offering £50k electric cars for £500 ap but £20 odd k petrol cars have £2k+ AP’S
April 1, 2024 at 9:11 am #270575So we have lost 33 cars total is 894.
918 showing now 🙂
April 1, 2024 at 9:13 am #270576New cars are:
Mini Cooper – new all electric with a 40kWh or 54kWh battery
Lexus LBX £2495 – £3995 Advance payment
Volkswagen Touran – a return for the old compact 7 seater, £3199 – £3999
Toyota Rav 4 – £7999 (Suzuki Across £4999 AP)
April 1, 2024 at 9:20 am #270577@V8Bart Maybe it’s Manufacturers offering motability better discounts on cars they find harder to shift. Electric cars have barriers, not limited to but including peoples conceptions and high price. I think it makes demand lower but traditional fuel vehicles are easier to shift and so manufacturers may be reluctant to offer such incentives. I still find it hard to believe I am driving around in what is a 50k car that only asks for a £1500 deposit and £71 a week rental. I wouldn’t get that deal anywhere else. What needs to be broken down now is the barriers to electric car ownership which involves lots of moving components- not just prices but infrastructure, home charging for those who don’t own or have on street parking and also I think the prices for public charging should be regulated to make it more competitive..

2024 Skoda Enyaq estate- 85x Sportline plus in Race Blue. Extras: Supernova 21 inch wheels, Maxx Pack, Transport Pack, Heat Pump and Pano Sunroof.
Ordered 31/10/23, Delivery 27/3/24April 1, 2024 at 9:22 am #270580I hope this is an April fools joke so far ?
April 1, 2024 at 9:24 am #270581I can now see April prices, but still at 894 cars, so it’s obviously still updating.
If correct, the 4 cars currently on my shortlist all remain. The iX1 has gone up £250, the Hyundai Tucson PHEV Ultimate is down £900, the Mazda Cx-5 is unchanged, as is the Mazda CX-60, although the convenience pack bundled with the Takumi spec is now a cost extra.
If that’s it, I’m very disappointed that the BMW X1 has not appeared. I was doubtful that the excellent petrol version would, but thought that the PHEV might (especially as the superb, but unsuitable for us, 330e Touring appeared last quarter – now gone, just leaving the even less practical saloon).
Will take a look at the Toyota RAV4. Any other non-EV additions in the SUV category or is this quarter yet another damp squib?

What a nightmare scenario! As @kezo says you can ask your dealer to re-do the admin on the Motability system to the new lower AP, BUT doing this in the week that you collect might raise a flag with Motability that results in them getting some form of sanction (they have a ‘fining’ system for dealers). The dealer may be a bit nervous as a result, especially given the huge price difference. Worth asking though, as you have nothing to lose. Many of us have done this and paid the lower AP as a result, but usually still some time before collection. As my BMW dealer said when lowering my AP (without me even asking them to) “better in your pocket than Motability’s”. Good luck. Let us know how you get on.

I agree, but manufacturers are struggling to shift EVs in the volumes that they need to meet their targets (private buyers just aren’t interested, with the overwhelming majority still sticking with ICE cars) so the only solution is the fleet market, such as Motability, and there are massive discounts to be had as a result. This is obviously great news for the minority of Motability customers who want an EV, and good luck to them, but sadly it seems to be at the expense of the majority who don’t!

Well done Mike. Very pleased for you. At least we have one happy customer ?

Yes it is ridiculous penalising those who still want the ICE choice. The 1.5 petrol Kuga in the facelift model has risen to £3995, same as the FHEV 2.5 version. The same engined Kuga was £1995 in Feb 2021.
April 1, 2024 at 9:55 am #270590Toyota RAV4 PHEV with a £7999 AP, the Suzuki Across the same vehicle with a higher spec now down to £4999, that £3,000 difference especially now lease are only 3 years.
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally say the wrong thing.

Whilst I wouldn’t want a Suzuki, I agree that the RAV4 is overpriced. I’ve just done a detailed spec and performance check against my list of essential and ideal features and it won’t be making my shortlist. If I’m going to spend £20k (£8k AP plus £12k sacrificed benefits) I’d rather have the Mazda CX-60, which is bigger, far better equipped, more powerful and has a more premium interior than the RAV4. Shame, as we owned a previous generation RAV4 privately for 10 years as we loved it so much.
April 1, 2024 at 10:11 am #270593Will take a look at the Toyota RAV4
Its the Design model so doesn’t get full vinyl seats.
April 1, 2024 at 10:15 am #270594Well, somewhat relieved I think. Will be sticking with the ID4 Style Pro that’s currently on order.
Doesn’t look as though the Explorer is making an appearance, and nothing else has tempted me, AP wise.
Although …… Namsang Ioniq is a huge drop ??
April 1, 2024 at 10:17 am #270595To be honest all the decent PHEV are over priced when compared to the current EV on offer, when I leased the Suzuki Across I was expecting to extend the lease a further 2 years, unfortunately this has changed but that’s life I will not be caught again, my next vehicle will be an EV with a low AP or off the scheme.
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally say the wrong thing.
