Rob
I spoke to Motability about the deal. They said that if a dealer wants to pay the AP on behalf of the customer then that is up to them. They will be getting paid so have no say in the types of promotions a franchise offer.
I wanted an i3 which is not the most desirable car I know and therefore maybe I got lucky.
However this IS a genuine offer.
If you have a BMW on order with another dealership or you are in a position to order one between now and the 31st of March then it costs nothing to ask the Marshall if the offer is still on.
In my case I told them I had on order an i3 for AP £1749. I wanted an electric car and to be honest £1749 was probably a little more than I could afford but I know I will save a fortune in fuel over the next 3 years so I was going to get a loan to cover the £1749.
When I talked to the Motability specialist he told me that they have a few cars available with various added options. I was really happy to chose the i3s Loft with sensors. Instead of £3419 I will pay £420. Loft upgrade £250 sensors £170 – the £2999 paid to Motability by Marshall.
I have everything confirmed in writing. Motability have confirmed that the car is on order. They have even text me the PIN number as I still wasn’t sure.
This is a GENUINE offer. Please call them with an idea of the car you want. I am not saying they will have the exact spec and you might need to pay for additional equipment in the car – or if you are collecting in March it’s a factory build and no need to compromise. However they pay the AP!
I am picking my car up in about 10 days time – so it is a genuine offer. Call them you have nothing to lose!
Our lives are hard enough – we all deserve something like this to work in our favour just for once.

January 16, 2020 at 9:16 am #1032369am Thursday Morning Update
I spoke with all Marshalls BMW Motability specialists at each of their branches.
The offer has ended. They put the offer on as they were down on sales for the current quarter. Within hours, they had reached the number of units they needed to achieve for this quarter and the offer was withdrawn by Tuesday morning.
Let’s hope those travelling to a dealership today, have a car placed on hold. We don’t want any wasted trips.
I missed the boat again.
January 16, 2020 at 5:26 pm #103286No have not got the renewal letter yet, must be happy doing an advanced order but will find out tomorrow.
Hi Simon, How did you go on?
Did you place an order with the £0 AP???

No I didn’t end up going, I rushed into things 3 years ago and regretted it. I do like the x1 but for the low mileage it would cost a fair bit to run. Really need a car that’s high up but really economical and preferably £0 Ap. Looked at a few cars today and think the niro best suited to me. Going back again next week for a test drive as they online had the electric model in stock.
January 16, 2020 at 6:02 pm #103291Fingers crossed you find something suitable.
