Hello fellow Skodians. I hought I would start this thread, as there seems to be quite a few either taken ownership, placed orders or just thinking about getting the best ev out there.
So, any questions that someone may be able to answer, any good or bad dealings with dealers, specs wanted or received, perhaps someone could help others in their quest

Picked up my facelift sportline yesterday,in velvet red with the 21″ supernova alloys….it is lush.
Can now have my back massaged while looking at the 360 camera….oh turned the HUD off dont like it.
Set the Canton up and the car is rocking.
Regen braking cant be totally switched like i did in the old car.
The front brake disc’s are nice and shiney across the whole disc surface, unlike the old car.
June 21, 2025 at 11:42 am #306964Hi all, some advice please.
I’ve had my Enyaq for a month now and niggles are spoiling what is a lovely car.
I went for my first good run this week, 200 miles return, it used 60% of battery, so not bad.
I tried charging my phone, it was in and out of charge for no apparent reason. When it did charge it was next to useless, any thoughts?
Then , there’s the fan , it doesn’t stop at the setting I choose, having a mind of its own when I stop and start,
Will my car being a month old have the latest updates? Where can I check this?
Many thanks,
Regards, WonkyJune 21, 2025 at 12:26 pm #306967Hi congrats on the new car sorry to hear you’ve had niggles. Have you tried different charging ports just to rules out faults the other front one or the rear or different cables or do you mean wireless charging?
One thought I just had switch yoyr phone to only charge when connected it could be trying to setup Android Auto or the Apple thing and it’s upsetting the charge only one of the front usb ports is for that so either set the phone to charge only not data transfer or android/apple auto or ensure you use the other port
For wireless I did find initially that my thick real leather case impacted the cars ability to charge it wirelessly but that affected other wireless chargers too so just ensure there’s nothing else in the case getting in the way and make sure there’s nothing in that cubby hole getting in the way.
If its cables try different ones I’ve found so many bad cables on Amazon over the years, make sure you have decent quality usb c cables no adapters.
As for the fan is it definitely set to a single speed? There’s 3 different auto settings low, medium and high it’s supposed to remember what you set it to but that might be worth checking otherwise the fan will ramp up and down to meet the climate control temp setting.
It might be worth resetting the car just in case, the old adage turn it off and on. In this case disconnect the negative on the 12v battery and leave for 5 mins or so then reconnect and see if that helps.
If it still has issues after that call the dealer and get it booked in. I’m guessing you’ll have the latest updates but you can always ask
If you open settings on the touchscreen the swipe right to information about software and rap that you should get your software version mines on 4.1 yours will be 5.x I expect being newer different hardware
June 21, 2025 at 1:25 pm #306968Are you using the wireless charging for your phone? It’s a bit hit and miss, the phone needs to be perfectly square in the charge slot and it doesn’t work well if you have a case on the phone.
June 21, 2025 at 2:48 pm #306969Hi Rich and Jojoe, thanks for replies.
Forgot to mention, I was attempting wireless charging, I did remove case.
It’s an iPhone SE. It never dawned on me to use cable, (that’s tells you my tech know how)
It is annoying when one of the highlighted features of the car doesn’t work, it detracts from the nice points.
I’ll try to play about more with fan settings.
I’m reluctant to phone Service ,
they’ll say bring it in and I live 20 mls away.
I don’t find the booklet that came with car very helpful and I looked at the online fuller version and I couldn’t navigate it.
I’m an oldie now and the new tech doesn’t sink in very quickly. When cars were simpler , I could get in any car and just drive and operate it regardless of make.
Still I do like the electric charging and most of my charging will be at home and I’ve just done 200 miles to Lakes and back for £3.30p !!
Regards, wonky
June 21, 2025 at 3:06 pm #306971Wireless charging Does work as long as the phone stays in place had some issues are first with my thick case but now i’ve taken everything aside from the phone out it charges just fine when I use it but I mostly use a wire as you can get more angry pixies into the phone in the same time, it’s just worth checking the cubby hole and mat to make sure everything is flat and that you get the phone on the right side. Annoys me that it single phone charging yet the photo on their website shows 2 phones that look like they’re charging.
Yes the manual that comes with the car is pretty useless. I find the best way to find out what you want is to just Google it LOL.
Know what you mean about the dealer mine’s 30 miles away and just CBA. Funnily enough the dealer started sending me service alerts before the car was even a year old and first service is at 2 years, dodgy.
Can’t argue with the cost of “fuel” even better when we trickle charge off the solar, mind you these days I just let it export instead as charging the car overnight is 7p whereas I get paid 15p to export so…. Even with a portable aircon unit running i’m still generating more than we use so winner.
I know what you mean my first car was a second hand Renault 11 TXE Electronic and that had gadgets galore a voice synth and digital dash not bad for 1986 PMSL but you could just drive it as all the gadgets were just eye candy back then. TBH with modern cars I just get in and drive and worry about what all the little bits do over time.
June 21, 2025 at 10:00 pm #306982Had confirmation from dealer the car is due to get built week 27, wc 30th June, should pick up end of July. Was wondering what sort of ranges people are getting?
June 21, 2025 at 10:17 pm #306983Thats almost exactly 12 months after we got ours this time of year over 300 miles to a chargewithout much effort
Winter time I rarely do longer journeys but at least 200 miles of short journeys
July 1, 2025 at 1:17 pm #307556Hi all, still loving my Enyaq after 6 weeks.
Couple of things I need advice on.I find it a bit of a pain having to put car into service mode just to lift wiper arms to clean blades, any other way?
Secondly, I’ve just used regen mode for first time ( drive mode B), I think it’s great , only around town today.
Anyone got any advice to pros and cons of using regen.
Regards, wonkyJuly 1, 2025 at 1:36 pm #307566Hi Wonky
I have 3 paddle regen on my Kona – first thing I do when I set off – so 3rd level I suspect is very similar to b mode.
On many cars you can setup on dash to see the level of regen happening in real time – if I’m in traffic I always let it bring me to almost a stop – about 4mph and just creep up to the car in front – also try to lift off throttle and cruise where you can ie down a hill – it’s just a different mind set after being used to always having your foot on accelerator.
But it’s a balance you don’t want to drive anyone following you nuts 😂
It does make a difference tho if on a long run.
But if you can set it so you can see the regen it’s easier to discover what works best. – have fun 👍
July 1, 2025 at 4:19 pm #307581Over 12k miles I’ve found normal mode and regen 3 attenuated by foot control to be the most economical. No matter what B mode always seems slightly less miles/kwh
Moving wipers, when the car is turned off you get the screen with air con now, monitor interior and move wipers.
Also turn ignition on and off push the wipepusever down within 10 secs and hold for 2 secs. Thats the non touch screen “cheat”
I don’t worry about people behind feelings no one seems to worry about mine so I do as I please within reason
On the dash to the left of the speed is 3 little chevron that’s your regen setting on the Enyaq. As regen only works when you fully lift off, you can coast at level 3 by using the accelerator pedal too and the first bit of brake travel uses more regen to slow the car so even a little brake pressure is also regen, I think that’s the reason some find the brakes a little weird

July 2, 2025 at 8:01 am #307633Hi all, thanks for replies.
Anymore Enyaqers out there with thoughts?
Regards, wonkyJuly 3, 2025 at 6:55 pm #307787There’s been quite a few videos on the tube etc, comparing B to D, and unless it’s a very long journey then won’t make much of a difference at all between the two. Personally I just leave mine in D and auto regen.
Wipers nothing more than what @Rich44 said.
Cheers
July 3, 2025 at 9:33 pm #307798Never use B. Always in D, but I do use the pedals un town or on A / B roads. On M roads I use cruse control with Travel Assistant in semi auto mode: all I need to do is to hold the wheel and the car does the rest.

Motability VW Touran Family Pack May 2019 (happy customer)July 4, 2025 at 1:29 pm #307842I always drive in B.
It’s vastly more economical than D on the journeys I do if you master the one foot driving style to make the most of the regen. I’m 40k miles in and tried D on different journeys but just not as good.
My wife prefers D without touching the paddles or doing one foot. She likes an easy life. But I get much better economy than her.
I lost interest in the paddles very quickly after getting the car as they just overcomplicate the driving.
I never use adaptive cruise as it isn’t economical enough. Cruise is only economical if your car maintains a constant pace. Normal cruise managed that and you just needed to overtake to keep your pace going. Adaptive cruise slowing the car down defeats the object and you just burn more energy speeding back up.
July 4, 2025 at 1:45 pm #307843Hi Olpk – enjoyed reading your piece – I have a Kona at the moment – 3 paddle – but swop at end of month to Elroq sportline – 3 paddles – which I understand shares a lot in common with the Enyaq.
Up front disclaimer – I won’t do more than about 5 – 7k a year, but I always use paddle 3 – pull paddle for complete stop .
Your comment about adaptive cruise I found interesting – I do tend to use that on motorways cuz it makes my life easier – but hadn’t realised it was less efficient – does the Regen work it on braking – I get the constant breaking and accelerating in heavy traffic would be inefficient. When I first got the Kona I had the regen graphic up most of the time so I could monitor what worked and didn’t – don’t think I ever did for smart cruise – oops
Hopefully I can do something similar on Elroq for discovery learning 👍
July 4, 2025 at 5:42 pm #307857Hi Tillman and others, I notice people talk about paddles, including your expected Elroq.
My 2025 Enyaq doesn’t have paddles, just DandB drive, I thought Elroq was similar to new Enyaq.
I’ve just started using B around town and I like it, it isn’t one foot driving but if you predict road a bit it’s almost a full stop.
Regards, wonky
July 4, 2025 at 5:56 pm #307859Hi wonky – the paddles are only available on Elroq sportline – the others are on or off – the car I test drove was edition so don’t know if they can bring to a complete stop.
My current Kona I put into paddle 3 on start – it has to be moving to engage – if I want to stop completely I hold paddle – not sure if the complete stop by holding paddle is available on Elroq
July 4, 2025 at 6:13 pm #307860Best advice id give is ignore everyone and try every mode and drive the way that makes you happy. Whether that’s B mode or D and using light braking to stay in regen or using ACC or travel assist
These EVs have enough range now so you don’t need to micromanage every setting and worry and every 0.1mile/kwh.
Now the 40k odd I did in the MG with under 170 mile range that was different but 300 mile range now…
July 4, 2025 at 6:22 pm #307862Yep – I agree with that – drive Kona 3 paddle and eco when I go to Cornwall – 250 mls and no more than 65 on motorway – will not be doing that with Elroq – 3 paddle yes – cuz that’s what I’m used to – but it will be in normal mode and 70 – but with the Kona I found initially having the real time regen displayed allowed me to discover what worked what didn’t and if locally it was worth the hassle.
The Kona I have is the ultimate – it was just the best deal – but there is so much on it I rarely use – sunroof for example.
July 22, 2025 at 7:48 am #310070Spoke to Marshal’s Skoda yesterday, and was informed that any of their Group ‘ stock’ Enyaqs which fit with the Motability Pricing can be offered to Motability Customers for immediate delivery.
July 22, 2025 at 9:53 am #310075That’s good news if their stock matches model and colour you want, gotta be better than nearly a year wait

I think they always do. I got mine from them last year same way: found the last one in Oxford, who refused to sell to me, called to Reading and Bob was my uncle.

Agreed, especially as home charging at 7p per kWh.
August 2, 2025 at 4:18 pm #310776Incidentally went away recently involving fair bit of driving away from home paying for one month sub on the Tesla app at £8.99 makes rapid charging 37.5p/kwh which compared to everyone else is an absolute bargain.
I did Norfolk to York then topped back up to 95% for £16 and it was about 150kw charging for a fair bit of that.
If going on holiday and you can use telsa a few times that £8.99 getting the price down to 37.5p is just (chefs kiss) there’s no ongoing commitment and one press to cancel in the app.
