Hello fellow Skodians. I hought I would start this thread, as there seems to be quite a few either taken ownership, placed orders or just thinking about getting the best ev out there.
So, any questions that someone may be able to answer, any good or bad dealings with dealers, specs wanted or received, perhaps someone could help others in their quest

Found this, the complaint can be escalated to the CEO. I would do that and highlight that you are being told to do something potentially VERY dangerous. Also imagine they had just advised the driver to use a hot water bottle, now the cap comes off and sprays red hot water up your back and over the seat, now you’re in pain sitting in hot water whilst driving. IMHO this is a really inappropriate suggestion, yes you could use warm tap water which would not be as dangerous but then it would not stay as hot as long. I think the CEO needs to be asked that question if nothing else.
What if I remain dissatisfied?
In cases where you are dissatisfied with the formal response you have received, you are able to escalate your complaint, within seven days of receiving the response, to the Chief Executive Officer, at the address above or by email complaint@motabilityfoundation.org.uk.In cases where the Chief Executive Officer is the subject of the complaint the matter will be referred to Motability Foundation’s Governors. If we have properly investigated your complaint in accordance with this Policy but you remain dissatisfied with the response from the Chief Executive Officer or the Governors then, whilst you may have the additional rights described in this section, we also reserve the right to notify you that we regard our complaint process as concluded and to decline to communicate further in relation to the complaint, or to consider further complaints linked to the same matters. The Chief Executive, in conjunction with the Board of Governors, will make this decision.
Additionally, Motability Foundation is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority for a small amount of our business activity. This is limited to Motability Foundation’s involvement in promotional activity to raise awareness and understanding of the Motability Scheme among potential customers.
If your complaint relates to Motability Foundation introducing you to the Motability Scheme please review our regulated complaints policy (PDF 154.1 KB).
March 4, 2025 at 12:35 pm #298794Can you take a grant application there? Might be worth checking if there’s a staged process.
Only complaints in relation to the Motability Operations (leasing/vehicles etc) side of things can be taken to the Ombudsman.
Complaints about Motability Foundation (the charitable side/grants etc) have a different process:
https://www.motabilityfoundation.org.uk/contact-us/motability-foundation-complaint-process/
Ultimately the complaint process ends with the governors of the charity who have delegated their authority to the CEO. Hence he/she is where the process ends.
If the complaint is regarding malfeasance by the charity as a whole for example, or fraud by the charity etc it could be taken to the Charity Commission, however they do not deal with individual complaints such as whether or not a grant is issued etc.
Edit – you posted your post above whilst I was typing (not easy in a tractor!).
March 4, 2025 at 12:51 pm #298795Yup that’s exactly what I thought different parts of the business etc but seems the next step would be to email asking to escalate to the CEO. In my experience of other businesses this can be where they get squeaky bum time and then magically start listening, no guarantee of course but you’d be surprised how often staff suddenly don’t want the info on the CEOs desk.
Our housing association had been messing us about over black mold in the babys bedroom, stage one complaint fobbed off, stage 2 yes we messed up we’ll put it right, didn’t hear back again. Wrote back sayingg thx for admission of fault now stage 3 to the CEO please. We then got the housing manager out and they said what do you want so we got storage heaters ripped out and oil boiler fitted, new kitchen and bathroom so it does work sometimes.
LOL posting here from a tractor hope you weren’t driving it at the time pmsl. Hey you’re not the one driving up and down my road leaving mud everywhere are you? ROFLMAO
March 4, 2025 at 12:51 pm #298796Can you take a grant application there? Might be worth checking if there’s a staged process. I have a HUGE problem with that hot water bottle comment. Imagine you’re 10 mins into your journey and someone hits you and that hot water bottle ruptures…… You could get really hurt. I would like to ask the CEO if thats an appropriate suggestion
Yes there’s a staged process which has been followed by putting a complaint in. Next step would be Ombudsman.

Kezo, the Ombudsman cannot deal with complaints about the charitable side of Motability (Motability Foundation).
The Ombudsman can only deal with complaints about Motability Operations Ltd.
See my post 2 or 3 up.

Thats hardly fair!
A strong worded complaint to the CEO then…

It is driving itself using GPS whilst pulling the combidrill across a paddock/field
It stops itself at the margins and I just spin it around on the headlands (the only place I can pick up the farm’s wi-fi) with the shuttle.
As for mud/soil on the roads, it’s a bit of a countryside norm when we have to go from field to field via public roads, however we do have ‘mud on road’ signs out and fetch out the sweeper out on the 690 3 or 4 times per day and always last thing.
March 4, 2025 at 2:41 pm #298807You guys might but they don’t round here between the beet lorries and farm vehicles going back and forth I’ve had to report it to to highways as dangerous so it gets cleaned up
There was a load up the road few weeks. ago I nearly slid off the road AWD saved me. Yeah we’ve lived in a rural village for over 20 years so expect it but when it’s several inches thick in places or dangerous it’s too much there is a duty of care to not leave roads dangerous regardless of signage.
There’s a beet loading point on local A road and the A road was plastered in mud 60mph area too, scary. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a mud on road sign nearby.
You should see the state of my poor car it’s supposed to be black not brown
Had double whammy mud from farm vehicles, destroyed verges by beet lorries and 2 months of a mains water leak by Anglian water.
Hope the weather’s nice there like it is here good for being outdoors 😁
March 4, 2025 at 8:37 pm #298819Thanks all got a complaint going in tomorrow and also got a callback scheduled with the CEO complaints team to take the hire car issue further. Now, I have been told that unless the handover is scheduled before the 21st of April, then the car will be collected on the 8th of April and PIP payment restored via DWP. There is now no build week available, so we shall see what tomorrow brings. Spoke to the hire team today and every car they suggested has a lead time of at least 12 – 16 weeks.
It’s the same here in the wilds of Lincolnshire. It’s rarely cleaned up, and the roads are a total mess where we are, especially when you get off the main roads.
March 5, 2025 at 9:44 am #298828Anyone else hear 2 faint beeps as they drive off? It’s usually when I’m at home, the beeps are really faint, no idea what they are.
March 5, 2025 at 2:58 pm #298870Just to update.
We received an email from our dealer today advising that we’ve officially been moved to MY26 with a build week of 15 / 16.
Then, we received a call from the Motability complaints escalation team, and they will not extend the provision of a hire car any further than the 7thof April, and Europcar will be collecting the vehicle on the 8th. We live in a rural location with no public transport of any sort, advised them that we were going to have to cancel planned hospital visits and have no way of getting the car and there was no answer to that other than ‘well I’m sorry about that’ when I told her that I would be complaining to my M.P. I was told that it was the same department that deals with those complaints and the outcome would be the same.
On the grant side of things this was there answer in the appeal about range :-
With regards to your concern about the range that can be achieved in the EVs available to you, I fully appreciate that on average EVs are not as capable of completing a long journey as an Internal Combustion Engine vehicle. The range that is possible on EVs is improving more and more as time progresses and should be sufficient for the vast majority of people’s daily mobility needs. As I have highlighted, we must award grants which represent the best value solution and as such we would not be able to increase funding to reduce the frequency with which you must charge/refuel the vehicle.
So all in all not a great day.
Take Care All
David
March 5, 2025 at 3:56 pm #298882Motability fleet is an asset worth £10bn
They made pretax profits last year of £1.1bn
They now can’t afford a hire car?
Nevermind your MP id be inclined to go to the media and stir a right show up. How have they got the cheek to cut you off. Have they said how long to reinstate your allowance?
They really ought to provide a taxi to collect the new car.
All well and good saying the same dept looks at complaints having an MP shouting at them is VERY different than fobbing you off plus your MP has different ways of applying pressure too.
Our son is having mental health issues and not getting any treatment since August our MP just got involved his just blitzed the GP, his college, CAMHS and the mental health place he’s supposed to be waiting for. Honestly MPs can do excellent work.
So sorry you’re having this struggle. Did you raise the subject of inappropriate dangerous advice regarding hot water bottles?
I’d be inclined to see what police think of that too and Directline

Er Rich 44,
Motability Operations made a pre-tax underlying loss of £130.3 million in 2024 (Gross pre-tax loss including exceptionals etc £564.6 million):

March 5, 2025 at 4:34 pm #298890A lot of this chatter is nothing to do with Enyaq’s.
Some folk don’t seem to understand or acknowledge that the grant is from a charity and as such has guidelines to follow.
@Vieuxtemps Get your PIP benefit back and use that to get about, just a thought. How long ago did you place an Enyaq order?Skoda Enyaq Race Blue
March 5, 2025 at 5:03 pm #298898Apologies for taking this off-topic. I’ll sort things pre Enyaq out myself.
Applied on 15th Jan for Enyaq, eight days after finding out it was a write off.
March 5, 2025 at 5:07 pm #298899Applied on 15th Jan for Enyaq, eight days after finding out it was a write off.
It’s disappointing that Motability didn’t make it clear as to what your options were. Like you, I would have expected to be kept mobile, it’s not your fault an order takes so long. You’ve done your bit by ordering quickly.
Skoda Enyaq Race Blue
March 5, 2025 at 5:16 pm #298901when I told her that I would be complaining to my M.P. I was told that it was the same department that deals with those complaints and the outcome would be the same.
??
It is not unreasonable to request you keep the hire car, untill they have set in motion the PIP money will be forwarded to your account, so that you can at least get to hospital by funding a taxi. It is no good taking the hire car from you and having you kept waiting for the money to go back into your account rather than motability’s.
Where does this leave you with the Enyak?
March 5, 2025 at 5:42 pm #298904Takes approximately 4-6 weeks for PIP to be re-instated.
The Enyaq is still on order and is being built week 15/16 so I’d have thought 12th – 26th of May for collection or thereabouts.
March 5, 2025 at 8:17 pm #298920No more permanent AWD in sport mode 🙁
March 6, 2025 at 1:12 am #298921Some people don’t seem to understand civil conversation either apparently 😋
Point is it takes up to 2 months to get your PIP back which has been mentioned several times already, if you look a few posts back and in the meantime you’re screwed no car no money so how does that work as you appear to have all the answers?
Those saying such things as use that to get about don’t seem to realise some of us don’t have taxis nearby for example my taxi to collect my MG after repair was £80 to go 4 miles taxi had to travel 30 miles to get to me first
Public transport and taxis aren’t a given. You can’t get a taxi at all before 9am as they’re all doing school runs THAT is why some of us join Motability.
Also it’s the randomness of it as I explained further back I was in the same boat regarding hire car and they did extend it saying they’d never leave us stranded.
Also we all know its a charity that came across pretty patronising tbh. It’s a business with £10Bn in assets that cleared a billion in one financial year and is sitting on several billion in the bank this is why and the different rules depending on who you speak to that’s so offensive
March 6, 2025 at 5:00 pm #298956The 21 inch alloys that are an option,i know one or two of you have them fitted…question are they “solid alloy” painted and machined with no plastic inserts ?
March 7, 2025 at 1:26 pm #298999Know of a few who have fitted them results in reduced range and harsher ride with increased road noise and very easy to scratch unless you’re very careful. Looked them for our new one but with no return on the cost if vehicle is written off decided against it and the boss said NO.
March 7, 2025 at 1:28 pm #299000Anyone fitted mudflaps to there enyaq and have they made a difference? I’ve honestly never known a car to get so dirty so quick!
March 7, 2025 at 2:13 pm #299005Keep thinking about doing mud flaps as round here car spends more time looking brown than black. Next time I want a brown car lol.
Let us know of you go for it, can’t see it making much difference as often it’s lots of road dust that gets stuck to the car
March 7, 2025 at 7:12 pm #299022Just got a confirmed build week of week 16 so 14th April looking at around 12th to 26th May so will be without a car for six to eight weeks hey ho. Complaint lodged with FOS
Anyone fitted accessories to their car that made a difference.
