FootlooseHi all
Decide today between 2 series gran coupe and q2 black edition..both were a great drive and yes q2 was easier for access/exit though Audi are mean with their level of kit as opposed to Bmw that has everything though on looks the Audi in blue looked fantastic combined with the drive and delivery of q2 quoted as September 30th but Bmw is March 2021!!Sorry I realise it’s my decision but as you all know your cars I thought I would ask what you think?Have a fantastic week ?

Geldof BobId go for the BMW, Far better to drive, Better infotainment system, Looks better…
Only reason to go for the A2 is if you need the easier access.

GaryIf you are happy with the Audi (ignoring the comparisons) I’d get the Audi, mainly through impatience 🙂
August 1, 2020 at 4:45 pm #120967The Audi offers far too little, for far too much, on the scheme and at retail, The BMW is preferred, but you’ll need the patience of mother Teresa

August 1, 2020 at 4:59 pm #120970Surely the ease of getting into, comfort and ability to carry any equipment beats everything else with your choice.
August 1, 2020 at 5:00 pm #120971If you don’t mind waiting till march and another 5/6 months after sept for the bmw then I’d go with the audi. Two very different cars though Imo, I must say i discounted both from my search as adaptive cruise is not standard on either and i need that on a car..
Had my honda civic sport for a month now, done 600 miles and it is pretty well spec’d, fast and cvt is so smooth but is very low to get into, but for me all cars are not easy to get into and cause me pain to some degree.. and that was a compromise i was willing to make this time to get the tech i needed like lane cut-in detection. lane keep assist.
plus after all we got the car for 3 years and this time it’s of smiles when i am in it driving rather than it’s easier to get in but hate driving it..
Prob not helped you choose only you truely know that..
August 1, 2020 at 5:25 pm #120975The Beemer is prettier, faster, better handling, and better specified.
If you like a keen drive, can handle the getting in and out, and indeed have the zen necessary to wait such a ridiculous period, then the BMW has to be the way! Doesn’t it? ??August 1, 2020 at 5:32 pm #120977Probably “prettier, faster, better handling” aren’t the most important requirements of the average Motability customer.
August 1, 2020 at 5:34 pm #120978Do you know Rox, there’s a lot of merit in what you say. It’s what puts a smile on your face that counts. ?

GeorgieI’m an Audi fan, but I have to say the Gran Coupe is a lovely looking car – especially in Seaside Blue.

If this was everyone’s first priority, we’d all be driving Tourneo’s

August 1, 2020 at 5:48 pm #120981Smallcar, is there an average customer in any criteria? Surely, those adjectives are all ones we would aspire to when considering vehicles. Who would want a worse handling car, or an uglier car, or even a slower car? For some of us there are compromises to be made, and the smile on our face comes via a different source, but these cars are the choice of Footloose, not you or I, and if a car such as the BMW gran coupe is being considered, I would imagine that style and performance are a reasonable part of that thought process. What a car looks like, and goes like, is surely as important to a motability customer, even if they have to include other factors?

Simon BoothSmall car is also small minded and a picanto wouldn’t be at the top of many peoples list either.
August 1, 2020 at 6:19 pm #120983I still consider that the majority of Motability customers have to consider the practicalities of the car to suit the user’s disabilities over the the looks and performance of the car. I am surprised, but not critical, by other people’s ” first priority” or the fact they get their “smile from a different source ”
Each to their own when it comes to deciding on a car but practicality has to win for me.
August 1, 2020 at 6:32 pm #120985Simon
Surely we can have different opinions on why people choose a car without resorting to name calling.
August 1, 2020 at 6:35 pm #120986
Simon BoothI was not name calling, I’m stating a fact. You are small minded. I have been reading over your previous posts/replies and you are small minded.
August 1, 2020 at 6:54 pm #120989Smallcar, you are very entitled to your opinion. In fact, I’m glad it differs because that allows debate, and that moves us forward to allow understanding of different perspective. I do feel honour bound, however, to point out that the tone of your post was inherently critical. It was intended to highlight the fact that such considerations such as style or performance are not appropriate for motability customers. The tone of your message prompted me to respond, that should illustrate how it made me feel. Practicality is top of your list, as it is mine. Consider another of your peer group who suffers in a way less physically obvious, are they to prioritise practicality too? Or can they be allowed to wonder about colour, style, etc? It takes all sorts, Smallcar, but all sorts don’t deserve disapproving head shakes. They deserve support and understanding. Just my point of view.

Sorry if my post seemed critical, it was not meant to be. I do realise that we are entitled to enjoy the car in additional ways to the practicalities.

August 1, 2020 at 7:21 pm #120996
CarlThe bmw is both stylish and has lots of kit as standard. So in my opinion who be the better of the two vehicles. However, a 6+ month wait is unacceptable….how can this delay be acceptable to mobility or its customers.
It all depends how desperate you are for the car, which might sway your decision making.
August 1, 2020 at 8:13 pm #121001I think in your heart you know, if you really can’t decide then maybe neither of them are the one?
August 1, 2020 at 8:15 pm #121002Hmmm ?, yeah go with the Volvo ?
August 1, 2020 at 10:44 pm #121011
RichardBmw all day long lots of car for the money will handle beautifully, plenty of good interior and exterior tec the only downer is its only 138 bhp.
audi q2 well just so boring im falling asleep writing the name.
I would wait for the bmw its no big deal as you will have your current car until your new one comes.best get what you really want there is nothing like feeling that you wished you had got the other car good, luck with your decision.
August 1, 2020 at 11:30 pm #121013The Beemer is prettier, faster, better handling, and better specified. If you like a keen drive, can handle the getting in and out, and indeed have the zen necessary to wait such a ridiculous period, then the BMW has to be the way! Doesn’t it? ??
Hi Footloose,
Re-read what Bowly101 says and you have my exact thoughts as well. ?
And added to that, close your eyes and imagine both cars parked next to each other. As you approach them, which one do you go to?
????? I will be remembered for nothing but had great fun doing it ?

FootlooseThank you everyone
Yet again this forum and its members are wonderful whatever your opinion.
I believe the misano blue gran coupe wins it as I would have to pay several thousand more to Audi to get near the amount of kit from Bmw!
Smallcar I Totally appreciate your Opinion and would say that although a double amputee I’m fortunate enough to be extremely mobile with prosthetics therefore access is relatively easy on most days but appreciate we don’t always have”easy days “but thank you for a few fair points made?
To all of you, your knowledge, advice and opinions I appreciate..Thank you?
