FootlooseHi all
Decide today between 2 series gran coupe and q2 black edition..both were a great drive and yes q2 was easier for access/exit though Audi are mean with their level of kit as opposed to Bmw that has everything though on looks the Audi in blue looked fantastic combined with the drive and delivery of q2 quoted as September 30th but Bmw is March 2021!!Sorry I realise it’s my decision but as you all know your cars I thought I would ask what you think?Have a fantastic week ?

They are both good cars, if they both suited my needs I’d choose the Audi,
purely because I find the ride just too harsh in all BMW’s.
I’ve owned several Audi’s in the past and never wanted to part with them.August 2, 2020 at 1:30 am #121020
mattI forgot to mention when I orded mine from Stratstone BMW Chesterfield I was told by sytner Sheffield it would be march next year .I asked the date with stratstone a she said they already had different builds in with bmw she she would put my car on one off them I contected bmw on the chat and they said build date was 24th aug and I would get the car the commencing the 14th sept so if anyone is thinking off getting a 2 series grand coup I would ring round or if your close to chesterfield go and see what they can do

jamesgHi Footloose i think i would go for Q2 . With the BMW I would be spending all my lease looking for the cylinder that fell off.

Lord MucMatt,
Yes you are right, my dealer said they had a build slot, same as yours, so call around. It may be that new orders have pushed build times back, as they recover from the covid shutdown, so dont delay. Lovely car, if it suits you, and james, don’t worry about the 3 cylinders, you won’t know it or feel it, its smooth, fast and responsive.

jamesgLord Muc hi i,am not worried about the 3 cylinders only the one that is missing.

Mike THi Footloose,
I would go for the Q2 Black edition, amazing car and better visibility. Saw one the other day with that nice grey colour they do.

CarlIf you go for the bmw there are loads of dealerships around the country giving £500 off at AP so making it even more attractive.
August 2, 2020 at 10:03 am #121034Purely from a personal perspective, I think the Audi looks bland next to the BMW.

jamesgFootloose both would be in my top 6 number 1 would be the 3 series but would be happy to drive around in your choice .

i thought you said go for the Q2 lol?
I loved the look of the black edition but Audi have went back rather than forward when it comes to technology and features especially in this model and for a £31,000 car it’s surprisingly featureless in the cabin compared to many other manufacturers with cars similarly priced or less ?

Lord MucTough choice, ap on the BMW would be £650. Taking in account of GCB, and discount. I would pay for tinted rears at £300, and you have a stylish, well equipped car for under a £1000. Q2 is a small SUV, so a lot more versatile in that way. The bmw compares with the CLA and audi A3, more than the Q2. Or maybe an MB A class, which looks lovely but seems a tad expensive.

jamesgFootloose had 2 1-series 120 d ,s last one a X-Drive now got a A-1 35 TFSI S-LINE Style Edition have had it for 6 weeks drives great performance better than the 2-series plus it has got bronze alloys £27.ooo car only done 120 miles due to shielding . In truth the 2 series is for people who cant afford the 3 -series the Q2 is for people who cant afford the Q3 the A 1 is for old farts with a bit of style lol. The BMW is better looking the Audi better comfort imho.

your comparisons and conclusions are spot on?
thanks a lot mate and I’m glad you thought the Bmw was better looking as I’m not keen to discuss looks as I may get shot down but understand that other areas are key in choosing the right vehicle ?

Good one, I have said before, look at the GC as a small 3 series. I loved my old audi Q3. I sometimes think I should have gone for the Q3 black edition instead of the X1, as the Q3 was super nice, but lacking in any affordable tech for me at the time. The GC has had a suspension tune up, as its for sale in the States, all m sport are “busy” rides, I don’t mind it, but some passengers hate it. When test driving the the Volvo 40, me and my my passenger felt it was a very floaty ride, coming from the msport x1. I like a bit of grip and a more spirited ride, to others, it’s back breaking.

ThargCongrats, Footloose. Sure you’ll enjoy the Beemer. Had the Q2 on my shortlist when last changing (March 20) purely because it had the 4×4 (not on scheme now) and a good 2.0L lump. Like you, was put off by cost of “extras” and a bit of trouble getting in and out. Let’s see snaps when the BMW arrives…
