You just get a normal black one, I don’t think they make that one anymore
I’ve bought a slim carbon fibre looking one, made of metal so adds some weight to the key too!
Came with a rubber JCW strap aswell. The brakes are great, I’ve done one or two heavy stops and they’ve been rock solid, little grabby that makes doing maneuvers with the car a little jumpy especially with my cp.
That looks amazing! I’ll have to keep that in mind, over here we’ve got snakes pass which is great if a little short.
There’s a mini meetup this bank holiday locally that I’m tempted to go to.
Mpg has been very surprising!
Getting upto 45 mpg on the motorway and about 39 in stop/start traffic in Manchester.
Getting around 400 miles from a tank
Hi all,
<p style=”text-align: left;”>Winston it’s going to look incredible in white, the JCW black and trim make the car, I wouldn’t worry.

I’ve had nothing but compliments on the ethermatic black, it’s really blue in the sun and when wet.I’ve just washed it and thought I’d give you all a shot. Already put 1600 miles on it in two weeks driving up and down the country for family events, I’m loving it although I may have got flashed the other day trying to get out the way of a speeding Amazon van ?
It’s very comfy for me but I’m only 5’5!
Ive found with the seat up high the mirror blocks quite a bit of visibility but with the seat low it’s perfect.
I do make a noise getting out but I’ll live with it!
I’ve been giving it regular supermarket unleaded, fuel cap says 95 octane and I’m getting about 37mpg with spirited driving with the limiter at 32 around Manchester.
I’m tempted to give it a tank of momentum and see if that improves anything.
I’m at a bit of a predicament where I have nowhere to drive at the moment!
Still giggling every time I see though.
Its been a great couple days since picking up on Saturday morning, as it was my birthday the dealer took me to the petrol station and gave me a full tank!
This thing is amazing, it really picks up!
Blasting down B roads is so fun, it cruises down the motorway at 70 so happily.
I took it from Essex to Manchester on the M1 avg 40mpg with cruise control set at 72.
Then did a blast of snakes pass which was about 32 mpgdriving around town with the limiter at 32mph its the smoothest thing I’ve ever driven and that includes a 22 plate corolla.
I’m in love.
It’s the enigmatic black, (most expensive option on the website but free for me apparently!)
It’s blueish under the sun apparently.
I actually test drove one on Monday, did some looking on all the different mini dealerships websites, I found one in stock not far from my parents which I’m visiting this weekend, rang them up Tuesday morning, did the forms and I pick up on Saturday.. had to be flexible with options of course but it fits me and my budget perfectly!
Dealer just sent a photo, I’m so excited!
It’s actually my birthday on pick up day aswell so I can’t think of anything better.
Hi all,
With the delay of my ordered qashqai for another couple months I thought I should give the JCW a test drive just to see what I could be missing out on…
I pick one up on Saturday!
managed to find one in stock about an hour away.
Premium pack with the 17s, all black with back tints. “murdered out” if you will.
I planned out my test drive route beforehand to make sure I got motorway and country lane and WOW.
I feel like a little kid.I got a phone call yesterday to tell me that my QQ e-power tekna has been delayed by 6 weeks.
I’ve been 50-50 on it or the mini JCW for ages, found a dealer with a mini ready to pick up this weekend so I’m going with that!I’m not sure if this means you might be able to get my cancelled QQ due for arrival in June now but if you wanted to try your luck its Westway Manchester
About the same size in my head and in real life are a bit different aha. Maybe I’m just used to seeing x-trails everywhere and everything else looks “about same” to me ha.
Just the boot and space in the back of the juke seem laughable compared even though the small difference in exterior size (8 inchs)
The qq and juke are about the same size externally if you’re worried about that.
Not sure about mpg as they’re different systems entirely.
<p style=”text-align: left;”>I think the disappointing answer for me is that the tech and size on the e-power Nissan is just too good to turn down.

Its an electric motor driven car so it’s still got some good low down pull with 8.something second 0-62 so still much better than the struggling 90 odd bhp mated to the dying gearbox I’ve currently got.March 16, 2023 at 11:30 am in reply to: Info, rumours and hearsay re. 1st April availability #215371Kona is absolutely going to be more expensive sadly
The new electric id2 announced yesterday is supposedly going to be 25k and they’ve purposely not said what the battery size is. Might be holding out for cheaper tech come 2025

March 16, 2023 at 10:56 am in reply to: Info, rumours and hearsay re. 1st April availability #215363I agree with struth and Wigwam that we may have just hit a saturation point with the way infrastructure is. The people that an EV is right for probably already have them..
More infrastructure in public slow charging is needed for it to be right for the rest of the population who don’t have drivewaysDo you find you can fit 2 in the back?
I’m a PhD student at uni and play on the snooker team, I’m always driving the team around in my colt and its a squeeze especially with cues! I’ve got a qashqai on order as it seemed like the sensible choice….
But man I’ve always wanted a hot hatch and with the ICE ban in a few years this might be my last chance..You may have convinced me to go and take a test drive… how generous is it on options? I could stretch to the AP but options might be the killer
I’m hoping for the Honda civic personally. But that’s all it is, hoping.
I think the juke doesn’t have it because of the battery size, needs a big enough one to do that much regen braking.
I always just used motoclaritys search!
All alloys look bad in the age of efficiency I find.
The new civic is a hybrid that works similar to e-power on the new qashqai, engine runs a generator which powers an electric motor but the civic can also use the engine to drive the wheels directly when at motorway speeds without a gearbox. Cool stuff!
