Hi everyone

I have had my current vehicle, a Ford focus ST for 6 years now with no trouble at all. With all the problems  we’ve had over the last few years I couldn’t find a suitable replacement.
At last I got an order in for a mini JCW premium pack and optional blacked out windows. Delivery mid to end of May. I nearly fell off my seat, I was expecting a very long wait.
Are the dates everyone is getting for delivery proving reliable?

I personally think the Premium plus is so worth the extra few hundred quid – it’s a £3500 option if you buy it privately so it’s a no brainer really

i went for a couple of options on top of that , I thought in for a penny in for a pound n all that

and with the £750 new car payment we get after a few days that certainly takes the sting out of the AP ??

it’s there to be enjoyed mate , so just fill it up till your hearts content ??

Ha, brilliant. I’ve read up and it does seem like an absolute bargain, haven’t had a sunroof for years.

My car will be 5 years old when change, not sure how much gcb I’ll get, had 350 already, but I guess I’ll have over 1k total to put towards new car.

I’m going for it.

If you call MB they can tell you exactly how much you will be due, just to help with your budget etc

i think if you have it 5 full years and you’ve had £350 already you’ll get £200 plus the £750 new car payment – so not too shabby ?? but they’ll confirm it exactly

best to call them first thing or half an hour before they close or else you’re waiting on the phone for an hour ??

Anymore updates with the JCW’s on order or feedback with any recently collected?

I’ve been thinking and over thinking my decision a lot recently, I do have my struggles/demons when it comes things like this and my OCD has been in overdrive ??

not the car itself as I’m happy ( well as happy as I can be ) with that choice. it’s my colour combo that’s been causing lots of anxiety  , I feel my choices are a bit too “in your face”

I’ve had migraines that have lasted for 2/3 weeks some months – anyone who suffers from the above knows it can’t just be switched off

anyways to fast forward a bit I’ve just emailed my dealer ( who has been nice as pie ) so far asking if it’s too late to change to a different colour combo , it’s a much safer colour scheme for me and much less stand outtish

it’s not been a snap decision I’ve mulled over and over and completely stressed myself out over all of it ?

i know the car is due to go into production very shortly so I’m hoping she is able to get this changed

she did say at the time of ordering that if I need to cancel at anytime it’s fine, as they’ll sell the car easy

but I don’t like wasting peoples time and feel a bit embarrassed in all honesty

But if I’m  going to have the car 3/5 years it has to be the right car tho eh?

Stick with what YOU want Winston, I’m the exact opposite and I guess I’m incredibly shy, I feel like the whole world is looking at ME always and I try to blend in without being seen as much as possible. I’ve ordered the same car, I wanted red, black roof and mirrors but couldn’t pull the trigger, I thought the blue was too loud, I’ve just gone all black as simple as can be.

At the end of the day though it was more about the infotainment system and the fun drive that matter most to me.

Don’t cancel, you will regret it when there’s nothing like this left on the scheme, just go with what you really fancy and stick with it.

thanks for the reply, I can really empathise with you feeling that the whole World is watching you – That’s exactly how I feel. The min you step outside it hits you like a ton of bricks

I just want to blend in and be as invisible as possible to be honest

I’ve been stressing out thinking my colour choices would make me stand out far too much , White Car/Red Roof – who am I kidding?

anyways I’ve just called Mini Customer Services and the car is now built ??‍♂️?

it’ll still take a few weeks to get to my dealership and I guess then I’ll have the ultimate decision to make

maybe seeing it in the flesh will erase some of my fears haha

one good point is there has been issues fitting the Harmon Kardon stereo on minis recently due to the ongoing chip shortage and it’s been a bit pot luck whether your car would be built with it – well they confirmed I have it so that’s good

My dealer is probably reading my email calling me all the names under the Sun at the mo ??

when is your car due?

if you have your order number from mini you can call Customer Services on 0800 083 6464 and then option 1

And they are happy to give you any updates , time scales on when the car will be built etc

better than waiting on your dealer calling with an uodate

The white car is the car I’ve went for , the British Racing Green is the car I think I should have went for…

I know taste/style is very personal but I’m happy to hear peoples thoughts / criticisms ?

@Winston If I’m honest I’d stick with the “white” one you ordered, simply because there are more cars on the roads in “white” – meaning you will bend in far more, than having one in “BRG”

In any case a Mini’s are known for their wonderful colours, so try not to worry about it and enjoy it, when it comes 🙂

On the other hand, BRG is a lovely classic colour and suits the Mini well. It’s subtle rather than standoutish

Yes Winston we are alike, I do not post very often but I read a lot, you and a couple others in the past have posted genuinely uplifting comments that work for me, they give me a mini (intended) confidence boost.

It’s hard to make the mini a mess whatever spec you go for, I like your combo there and I agree with Kezo, it will not stand out as much as the BRG. The demo JCW where I ordered was almost your combo, it had that multi coloured roof though and does look good, I had second thoughts, I nearly went white with black roof and mirrors as it really did look nice but stuck to my original pick.

Great news, I went to a Marshalls and got 500 off the adv payment.

I’m glad you mentioned about the Harmon Kardon issue as I would t accept without it so to make sure I’ll let them know now so that they can keep it in the build till its got it. If I get to September I get another 200 gcb on top amking 550, with the 500 off and the 750 new car thing that’s amazing, say what you like about motability, most of it most of the time is brilliant.

Anyway, hope it knocks you out when you see yours in the flesh and you have the best 3 years runaround you’ve had so far.

Hi wigwam, the BRG is surprisingly bright to me and I find the rebel green closer to what I remember being BRG. Both do work though.

I completely agree WW – I’ve tried to view as many similar cars over the past few weeks and that photo of the BRG doesn’t do it justice,- absolutely lovely in Natural light  it’s much of a “Sleeper” subdued look I think

That mini configurator can lead you down a rabbit hole eh? Lol

i had Black in mind from Day 1, I’ve had 3 White cars In a row but in the dealership was a Cooper S in that new Nanuq white which is almost identical to the Onyx White I have on my Tiguan and I was sold

So sometimes the more time and options you have the more our minds can work overtime going into every possible scenario – as you said I don’t think there is a Bad colour combo on that car , I even think that bright yellow colour looks good ( altho it was never in my thoughts lol )

Dont really have anyone in my life to bounce off on, share my thoughts or concerns on this car so thanks to all who has taken the time to reply ??

i know for a fact your Black JCW will look the berries with the subtle Red trim it comes with

It’ll be an emotional day ( what day isn’t ) when I hand over my current car but I’m looking forward to my first drive now ?

I’ve had nothing but compliments on the ethermatic black, it’s really blue in the sun and when wet.

I’ve just washed it and thought I’d give you all a shot. Already put 1600 miles on it in two weeks driving up and down the country for family events, I’m loving it although I may have got flashed the other day trying to get out the way of a speeding Amazon van ?

Mpg has been very surprising!

Getting upto 45 mpg on the motorway and about 39 in stop/start traffic in Manchester.

Getting around 400 miles from a tank

I know there’s a lot of excitement with the acceleration, but what are those big Brembo brakes like for stopping? Must give you a great peace of mind knowing they are there if you need them

with todays standard of driving we’ll need them more than ever ?

The start of the Highlands is only 20/30 mins from my doorstep and driving through Glencoe and beyond is my favourite drive and something I do often to get away from the house – so I’m looking forward to doing it in the JCW

if yous enjoy a drive and fancy seeing the best scenery in the UK , the A82 is the one for you

unfortunately since Covid and Tik Tok the traffic and therefore accidents have increased dramatically ??

but midweek when it’s a bit quieter is honestly stunning ?☀️?
