      What happens to everyone’s cancelled Motability Volvos? There must be a lot maybe in transit. Do they become available to someone ringing round? Say a January ordered one arrives at my local dealer or do they become retail and not for Motability customers? 🤔

        Interesting UncJ to hear your  second choice of car. I can only choose petrol and would need a local dealer ideally,

        Thought I’d sit down and make a list of possibilities but probably comes down to ringing around and seeing what is on offer for immediate delivery.  I’d rather wait but how long for?! 🤷‍♀️

          Thank you guys – she’s here!!!! I’m in mild shock! He said Volvo have been a disaster behind the scenes, and the cars he’s been handing over so far have been Jan/Feb orders but Dec orders aren’t here yet. He wouldn’t give me more than that I’m afraid 😟. No newspaper to hand but here she is!

          Yay, she looks fantastic, so pleased for you and thank you for quizzing the dealer! 😀 The car park theory might be right, Decembers are stuck behind all the later orders!

              MrsL83 – I’ve ordered tinted windows and the dealer said that are done there so not during the build. Perhaps you can add it on or as UncJ is fitting them cheaper by someone he knows. Not sure what happens on the cars return.
              Fingers crossed for positive news this week as my dealers going to get fed up of my emails! Volvo HQ need to get communication flowing!

                  Just got a call there to confirm that my car is still ready for collection Monday morning, and that it’s being valeted and washed today in anticipation of collection so it’s physically there by the sounds of it! Will keep you posted and send that proof of life pic 😜

                    Mrs L83- I need to get my Crystal Ball out! 🔮
                    I’ve just joined the FB page for Motability Scheme Information Support Group UK and see some orders have arrived. Maybe there’s hope!!

                    Decided earlier that our orders may not be even built and stuck in Volvos computer system somewhere. We need Volvo HQ and  Motability to issue a statement to us all so we can make an informed decision.

                      Hi, all fellow xc40 sufferers! Just had this email from my dealership. Sorry I have not been in contact but I currently have no good news to give. We have no way of tracking the order and I have not been given any updates in regards to the delivery. I appreciate your situation and if you need to find a dealer that can supply a car to you quickly, I will completely understand. Motability have currently removed Volvo as a brand from its offering because of this situation and the dealers not being able to check order progress etc so I believe it is something that is being worked on. Please let me know your thoughts. I will let you know once it has arrived so that we can work on getting it to you in a timely manner. So no news! Grrrrrrr 4th Dec ordered -Petrol

                          Cjm23 – Sorry to hear all bad news today. The fact you’ve been asked to pick up a car that hasn’t even been build is astounding. What date did you order?
                          I’ve just emailed our dealer at Gloucester to ask for an update from my order on the 4th December and if we can just swap to a stock car too. If you get an answer can you let us know? UncJ and I are both waiting here with no news.

                              Is it just Motability orders or all factory orders?  I did follow another forum about Bristol port delays for the XC40 but that’s gone quiet  since April maybe all their cars have turned up? Just be interested to find out. I’m fed up of taxis and hiring cars it’s costing a fortune.

                                Wasnt it yours and UncJ cars delivered late April as your the same dealer? Whats happened to those cars? The mind absolutely boggles that non of us have actually received 1 car yet! And there’s 27 people on this one thread, Minus the lady in Ireland who I think got hers. And Poor Rose’s is there … but she can’t have it!! 🤦🏽‍♀️😢

                                Yes, mine is somewhere stuck with UncJ’s – so close but so far 🤷‍♀️

                                    I’ve just driven past Bristol docks and there were hundreds of cars! Passed two transporters on the M5 with Lexus and MG not a Volvo in sight!

                                      Hi, I ordered 4th December ‘23 (no build date given) and suggested delivery 1st March ‘24  for a mild hybrid.

                                        Great, hopefully it’s not too long now. I was going to have the tints done but I can get it done £170 cheaper by a firm I’ve used several times so I’ve gone with that. It usually takes about a week to do the PDI once the car arrives so there’s that to take into account as well.

                                        Thanks you for the information as it’s our first Motability car.

                                          uncJ – not a strange question at all- yes I did, it’s me!!!  and added blacked out windows. That I think is done at the dealership. So hopefully we are both waiting for a phonecall.

                                                  Hi I’ve just joined this forum as I ordered an XC40 on the 4th December ‘23 and so far have only had the information from the dealership in Gloucester that the car will arrive ‘shortly’ that was 1 1/2 weeks ago! It’s now at the point where I’m going to have to hire a car next Friday for a week. We have been carless for coming up to 5 months when we were expecting 3 months. Hoping someone here has good news soon to give us hope.
