Thank you guys – she’s here!!!! I’m in mild shock! He said Volvo have been a disaster behind the scenes, and the cars he’s been handing over so far have been Jan/Feb orders but Dec orders aren’t here yet. He wouldn’t give me more than that I’m afraid 😟. No newspaper to hand but here she is! Aww 🥰 so happy for you Steph! She looks amazing 🤩 ☀️🧡☀️
The theory of blocked in cars is looking true isn’t it, I’ll personally wait for mine, there’s no other I really fancy.
UncJ Oooosh £4k is steep isn’t it, I’d try and hang on mate, it will come, it’s been a long slog but it will happen,
I test drove a Cupra and a huge SEAT SUV before I chose my Volvo, they were awful, the Cupra far too small inside and the SEAT suv was like a tank!!
MrsL83 – I’ve ordered tinted windows and the dealer said that are done there so not during the build. Perhaps you can add it on or as UncJ is fitting them cheaper by someone he knows. Not sure what happens on the cars return. Fingers crossed for positive news this week as my dealers going to get fed up of my emails! Volvo HQ need to get communication flowing!
Hey Nshaw hmm 🤔 not sure about cars being returned and modified privately I’m sure UncJ will have checked on this, I’m not having them done at the dealer now 😅 I’m not delaying any collection time with them more than I’ve already waited 😅

Most important question 😂Just got a call there to confirm that my car is still ready for collection Monday morning, and that it’s being valeted and washed today in anticipation of collection so it’s physically there by the sounds of it! Will keep you posted and send that proof of life pic 😜

Exactly this. How would we pressure them for this though? Motability should be the first point of contact but I doubt they care from experience.

Hi, all fellow xc40 sufferers! Just had this email from my dealership. Sorry I have not been in contact but I currently have no good news to give. We have no way of tracking the order and I have not been given any updates in regards to the delivery. I appreciate your situation and if you need to find a dealer that can supply a car to you quickly, I will completely understand. Motability have currently removed Volvo as a brand from its offering because of this situation and the dealers not being able to check order progress etc so I believe it is something that is being worked on. Please let me know your thoughts. I will let you know once it has arrived so that we can work on getting it to you in a timely manner. So no news! Grrrrrrr 4th Dec ordered -Petrol

I saw my first 24 plate XC40 in my village today, my head nearly spun off! I wanted to follow her and ask which dealer she got it from and was she a private sale haha, but I was on the school run and my children said “that’s a bit crazy mummy” 😂😂

Are private buyers getting this level of ‘service’ from Volvo? Sign up for a MY24 and get delivered a My25 without any discussion beforehand? I’d be interested to know.
Pose the question to your dealer.. this would be interesting 🤨 I bet he’d be very sheepish
It just seems you enter a contract whether it be with Motability or Volvo for a car with x y and Z and you’re given a car with a b and c without any consultation! I don’t go into curry’s to collect my pre ordered fancy fast spin washing machine and happily accept one with a much slower spin just because they assumed I would and they could! It’s the principle of it that really grates me!
Exactly this! It’s insane you order something but get something completely different! I know the MY25 has rear and front cameras but I too need the 360,

What a joke! The whole debacle is infuriating
Half of me is thinking I can’t complain/kick off yet as my car isn’t actually late as of yet, I was told 4-6 months from December 29th which gives them until late June
The other half of me is very cross, and my anxiety is through the roof with the lack of communication and “lies” the being made a fool of like I’m an idiot. Being kept in the dark.

I do remember a few weeks back my Dealer saying he had EX amount of cars delivered and 2 customers turned up to collect theirs and they hadn’t been loaded, they were in the “sheet” but been forgotten on the loader, they arrived the next day.

He has no update as it’s been Bank Hols!
and just that he’s still waiting for my ARN to be swapped over 🤷🏻♀️ but it shouldn’t be a problem as he has had 3 done already and I am one of 3 others still waiting….Pointless email!

Nope, emailed dealer last Friday about the car that should have been delivered to them back on 26.04 and no reply. Probably getting fed up with customers inquiring about their cars but when something has been so inept as this whole experience it’s not a surprise the just might be inundated right now. Reading of customers on the EX30 forum that have had cars delivered but they’ve been in the wrong colours!! Farcical when ordering a £40,000 car! If it wasn’t for my problems in finding an acceptable level of comfort in a car seat with nerve problems in my leg I would have cancelled my order ages ago. I’ve test driven a number of cars over the past few months but just can’t sit comfortably in the seat for even a short drive hence keeping my Volvo order.
Im the same really, I have Arthritis all in my coccyx, hips, thighs, lower back and nerve damage, I’m 5ft 10 and need the height of a car as it gets worse so I chose the Volvo after looking at multiple other SUV’s I do own my own car but it’s a BMW 1 Series it’s way to low and I’ll just sell it, so in my case I’m not without a vehicle but that’s not the point is it, I/We all have no actual delivery date after ordering nearly 6 months ago!

I’ve emailed over a week ago and no reply from Gloucester. Did rant on FB to the Volvo online SM rep, obvious they can’t access any info on Motability cars. Did suggest in a week they maybe would be able to give info! Gave me the complaints link. Wish I’d gone to the other car dealers appointment I had on the 4th Dec. I’d drive anything to get my daughter places.
Wasnt it yours and UncJ cars delivered late April as your the same dealer? Whats happened to those cars?

Update There is no update. Spoke with motobility who contacted dealership but no change. I won’t be receiving my original order that was supposedly cancelled 😡. I’ll have to wait on my reorder and no timescale or whereabouts. Why even disclose to me that my original order was sitting in their compound… The wait continues
