Hi, today is Enyaq collection day (yippee) and whilst we are excited its somewhat tarnished by a phone call from the dealership yesterday evening.
As mentioned previously, we ordered the car during Qtr3 when there was the additional 500 contribution for orders before the end of September. At Qtr4 the AP then dropped and the 500 contribution was removed (leaving the overall AP the same).
When speaking to the dealership shortly into Qtr4, we were informed (without prompting them) that they had adjusted the AP for the lower rate but managed to keep the extra 500 contribution therefore reducing our AP payable on collection.
We heard nothing more until the vehicle was eventually registered earlier this week, and then late yesterday the dealership phoned and said they had difficulty creating the invoice as the extra 500 contribution cannot be applied.
Whilst I dont doubt the efforts they have gone to in order to try and resolve the issue (between Motabilty and Skoda) both parties state there is no scope to apply the extra contribution. I cant help but feel the dealership have let us down and should have confirmed this long before now?
Whilst with hindsight I accept this additional contribution was probably unlikely and a mistake, I feel the dealership is somewhat responsible and should at least make a contribution to fixing.
As the vehicle is registered to us, I dont feel we can walk away at this stage but would appreciate any feedback from others around this unusual situation..
I due to collect the vehicle at midday so any suggestions appreciated – I’ll let you know how we get on!

Just to update –
Enyaq 85 edition now ordered complete with the additional 500 contribution, expected delivery by end of October as vehicle already build and on route to UK. Had the conversation regarding Q4 pricing and they were happy to adjust pricing if needed on this or the 85x if pricing is more favourable.
Now just waiting for an appointment for the home charger install.
One final question (let me know if I should post to the other thread)
Assume most people have adopted for one of the octopus ev tarriff? I dont have a smart meter yet but any help or suggestions in moving/setting this up?
Thanks again.
Sorry for the delay in responding and thankyou for the update.
Ive managed to get an appointment at a local skoda dealership later day (the one who suggested I could cancel) and now feel more confident regarding the approach we should take.
I intend to order the 85 edition with the 500 additional contribution , and then await the Q4 price list… I’ll ensure to mention the option of cancelling and re-ordering if the AP drops in our favour or the 85x reduces significantly just so they are aware of our intention.
Once again thanks for your help and clear explanation – its really appreciated.
I’ll be sure to feedback on the next steps..
Hi, thanks for the prompt response – appreciated.
I guess it was uncertainty regarding cancelling that was concerning us, so thanks for clarifying.
So if Im following correctly, I could potentially order the 85 edition now (with the current 500 promotion) and if the 85x or ID4 equivalent is reduced during Qtr4 then hopefully the dealer will allow me to cancel and re-0rder the other model at the lower AP or failing that cancel the order in full and then goto another dealer for the 85x?
Lastly, if I did need to cancel outright any hints or tips in how to approach this (email/in person etc)? My local skoka dealer made it sound like it never happens and they have no control over this once the order is placed?
Thanks again.
Hi again.
Thanks for the help offered so far.
My family are still trying to make a decision, our short list remains the enyaq (preferred) or the ID4, whilst we are keen to forward the imminent Q4 pricing list makes me unsure..
I seem to recall reading that sometimes the new pricing make it this forum before the 1st which would help me make the decision (if I can get the order placed intime?) I did try speaking to the local dealerships about cancelling if the AP moves in our favour (1x said a definite no and the other said the yes but the person was new to the role and didnt give me much confidence) plus this dealership doesnt have appear to have a very good reputation locally anyway..
The recent additional 5o0 contribution on the 85 edition obviously helps, but our ideal was for the 85x which isnt included in this offer.
Thanks and any ideas or suggestions appreciated.
Ah, thanks for the prompt response – thats reassuring to know. I’ll have a chat with our local dealer and see what the options are..
Hi,
Ive been reading this great forum for a while as my family are considering rejoining the scheme again after 14 years. As background, we original joined the scheme 2010 and then purchased the car at the end of the lease which we continue to drive to this day. I would like to have a plan to replace the family car before we are forced into making a decision over the next year or so..
Like a few others on this forum, we were considering making the jump to electric due to our recent reduced mileage and we considered the Enyaq last quarter as this felt like the best match to our needs, but disappointingly we didn’t manage to order before the current AP increases…
Whilst we are still considering the Enyaq I cant help but wonder what will happen to the AP next quarter and beyond (depending on delivery dates) especially with regards to the EV targets and recent journalism articles on EV?
I seem to recall posts suggesting that we could cancel before delivery if prices changes in our favour – does anyone have any experience or advice around managing this?
Lastly, am I right in thinking the option to purchase the vehicle at the lease end has been removed? Ideally we would have liked to follow the same approach as last time – find the right car under the scheme and then look to purchase (knowing the full history and reliability of the vehicle)..
Thanks for any help offered..
