This has highlighted why I will never have an EV or a plug in hybrid. I’m a wheelchair user the system isn’t set up for wheelchair users heavy cables parking spaces not wide enough. Where the cables are they have curbs around them so can’t reach easily. You would think in this day and age disability would be a thought but still obviously not even a second thought as usual. I couldn’t deal with the low range and constant worry and planning I have to plan enough as it is at times.

I find it ridiculous that if you can pay 7-8k for an AP do you really need a Motability car? You can obviously afford to buy a car yourself.

PIP should be means tested I know a few people who have had millions in compensation and still claim PIP and can still get a Motability car. They simply don’t need the money nor Motability car. It should be for those who need it. There should be more choice of cars. Far too many SUV’s which a lot of wheelchair users can’t get in and out of easily. The push for electric cars too being a full time wheelchair user myself there is no way I can plug a charger in cables far too heavy and most have curbs around them so can’t wheel up close to grab it. Obviously no accessibility in mind as usual. It’s a new infrastructure for crying out loud it should be. You may have a current car on lease that is perfect for your needs and nothing at all that is on the new price lists and now you can’t buy the car at the end of lease if you had any means to do so that is wrong. Motability is all about making money more now than doing what it was supposed to be doing it’s gone down hill big time.

Lots of SUV type cars yet again, not great for wheelchair users. I know it’s a growing trend with manufacturers selling them but come on.

Also EV I know they have to push the EV’s but again not easy for wheelchair users like myself and would never have one. Hybrid yes but not plug in type. Seems like it’s getting less and less choice of cars that are suitable ridiculously high AP for ones that are
