June 20, 2025 at 8:40 pm in reply to: Motability Insurance Excess Increasing for New Lease Applications from 1/10/25 #306947Like now I’ll continue driving with a cracked windscreen then. I won’t be lining their pockets with £100 every few months because the council dumps 5 tons of gravel and tar on the road and calls it fixed. New Enyaq last July already on my 34d windscreen now. Until the crack interferes with driving it can stay cracked. I don’t think many of us would go with an insurance company that whacks the excesses up. This coupled with gov stealing welfare from us. How many will stay on Motability if they have to pay that and lose the daily living allowance of PIP because they didn’t get 4 points in one question FFS Motability really need some competition lately they’re being terrible for disabled drivers
yours is still £50,
The 35 is £359 and the 40 is £389 (that’s if I have looked at correct ones) it’s also 48 months and 24,000 miles and 0.13 pence per mile over the 24,000, not sure about service or insurance
Why? BYD, MG and Kia have and had cars on at over 300bhp It’s not about power for Motability, it’s all about service costs etc ( told to me by an accounts manager who runs the department that discusses pricing with manufacturers and also deal with cars that have severe issues like my last one did )
Then why we don’t have Tesla model Y on the scheme? Ticks all the possible boxes: place for a wheelchair, long range, low maintenance costs (only recently though). Cheaper than my Skoda Enyaq 85X
i believe it’s down to their business model and the lack off dealerships tho I might be wrong
Just ordered our new car from Holdcroft Hyundai and he said it comes with mats
The facelift model is not due in the showroom till later this year
I see on the Kia web site there isn’t as many cars on their motability option that are on motability site 🤷♂️
Our dealer has told us it’s been coming soon since last year when they launched it
Shame the ev3 still hasn’t arrived on motability yet
Tbh I have never had a problem with our kwik fit
I think if you look on motability web site it doesn’t mention an annual limit just the 60,000 for 3 years and 100,000 for 5 years, I stand to be corrected
They are there now
I can still see them
Ev4 and 5 are not out yet, my dealer said they had a feeling the 3 could be on in april
Never had a problem with our kwik fit, and never spent 90 mins waiting for motability to authorise new tyres
As I have said before 29 months in with our sportage mhev auto and ppf filter is only twice in that time, yes all short journeys not all cars are having big issues with it, have seen on other forums and other manufacturers are having the same issue. To us don’t see it as a big problem and love our sportage
Apparently people have been getting £50 gcb when ending the lease early, that is stopping
Interesting. We’ve only ended one lease early and that was due to needing driving adaptations. We said we were happy to have them fitted on the existing car but Motability insisted that we ordered a brand new car, which seemed daft. We definitely didn’t get any GCB that time.
I have no idea, I am just saying what I have seen on the mobility support group on fb

Remains to be seen if/when it comes on motability
Will be our next car if it comes on motability
Most of the ap’s are to high
Not sure they are a budget brand anymore
So 27 months in an ppf twice in that time and only took a run of 30 miles and it had gone, not everyone is having that much of a problem with it, and yes always short journeys
