So I saw on Facebook video that they’re offering the following
i4 e-drive35 & i4 e-drive40 for
£4999 deposit and £329 a month.
Why is it as Motability customers we’re stung HARD? £6999 DEPOSIT and our Mobility component
Ok we get insurance etc in the mix but why are we stiffed for the deposits?
I’ve messaged Halliwel Jones asking if the deposit can be sprung to Motability Customers also!
I'm blunt and straight to the point and I make no apologies for it!

How many miles is the BMW deal. Does it include maintenance and tyres for 3 years. Can you actually get in and out of an I4 they are so low to the ground, fall in but you want to try to get out of one.
June 20, 2025 at 6:38 pm #306935I’m guessing you didn’t read my post correctly where I mentioned the fact insurance etc is included with Motability etc
As for entry etc not everyone’s disabilities are the same so a little judging response

Bipolar, OCD and a multitude of other MH issues and physical disabilitiesJune 20, 2025 at 7:48 pm #306943The i4 is getting a major update this year with body styling and a larger motor so dealers are probably off loading stock at a discount. Prices on Motability may reflect this in the next quarter.
June 20, 2025 at 8:20 pm #306946The 35 is £359 and the 40 is £389 (that’s if I have looked at correct ones) it’s also 48 months and 24,000 miles and 0.13 pence per mile over the 24,000, not sure about service or insurance

Bipolar, OCD and a multitude of other MH issues and physical disabilitiesJune 21, 2025 at 3:00 pm #306970Hi @Mack2024,The next paragraph may maybe of help about your question why the Advance Payments/ deposits are so high for some makes and models on the Motability Scheme, and this is the answer I found online.
The advance payment amounts for Motability Scheme vehicles are set through negotiations between car manufacturers and Motability Operations, the organization responsible for the scheme. These negotiations consider various factors, including the vehicle’s price, estimated servicing and maintenance costs, and its projected resale value at the end of the lease. The advance payment is the upfront, one-time payment required for some vehicles to cover the difference between the cost of the car and the customer’s weekly mobility allowance.
You can make up your own mind who’s responsible for the high advance payments, is it the car manufacturer? the Motability Scheme? Or both? I’m edging towards the car manufacturer being at fault not Motability!,especially the more prestigious manufacturers like BMW, Audi, Mercedes, etc, etc. I’ve noticed they regularly have high advance payments for their cars compared to other car manufacturers on the Scheme!
June 21, 2025 at 10:50 pm #306984It’s interesting, Motability made £700M revenue (and almost £5.59B in income) in 2023 financial year. This is lots of margin.

Apologies for briefness and spelling mistakes.Motability Skoda Enyaq SportLine 85x April 2024 (unhappy customer - Ombudsman pending)

Motability VW Touran Family Pack May 2019 (happy customer)June 22, 2025 at 9:35 am #306993An accounts manager who dealt with my case said Motability decide the APs

Bipolar, OCD and a multitude of other MH issues and physical disabilitiesJune 22, 2025 at 11:06 am #307000The AP is the negotiated price of the vehicle + servicing and maintenance, and its expected value at the end of the lease. Motability Op’s negotiate with manufacturers every three months to get the best prices possible lol.

June 22, 2025 at 11:22 am #307002As above
An ACCOUNTS manager told me they set the APs not the manufacturers

Bipolar, OCD and a multitude of other MH issues and physical disabilitiesJune 22, 2025 at 3:08 pm #307013Yes,Motability may set the AP after negotiations with the car manufacturer. For example if BMW decided to sell their cars to the Motability Scheme for half the manufacturers retail price you would probably have Nil AP on every car!
June 22, 2025 at 4:53 pm #307020Yes it based on the outcome of negotiations with manufacturers.
June 23, 2025 at 11:59 am #307047Obviously as it is a Motability list, final pricing will be decided by the relevant decision maker within Motability. That price is influenced by a number of factors not least the price offered by the manufacturers.
Very often when manufacturers have surplus stock or end of line models to shift, they will reduce price.About 10 years ago Volvo were launching a completely new XC60 in the new year so the current model came on the list at an ap of about 2k. I ordered New Years Eve and the car was off the list the next day and never been on since.
Im hoping the i4 drops with the new one appearing but stays on long enough for me to order.
