The Octopus Salary sacrifice is not particularly cheap when compared with motability, my company run the scheme. I picked up a Ioniq 5 Ultimate from motability in September the advance payment was £2,000 add in the approximate monthly PIP payment of £300 x 36 = £10,800 so total payment over 3 years is approx £12,800
The Octopus salary sacrifice scheme, no upfront payment, but the last time i checked, the Ioniq 5 ultimate (for my salary) was a net payment out of my wages of approx £550 per month, so over 3 years £19,800 so a good £7k more than motability.
They do however, offer a much wider selection of vehicles and specs.
this used to happen with my ioniq 5, until i stopped connecting ohme to the hyundai app.
Since just using the ohme app on its own its been faultless
I got my car mats from Mrcarmats.co.uk, they fit fantastic if you have the sliding console.
I’m 3 months in with my first EV, Ioniq 5. currently spent less than £50 on fuel compared to well over £300 in my previous Tiguan.
Range took a slight drop last week in the cold couple of days we had, but this week back up to over 285 with driving the car normally with a/c / heating on etc.
Only have to charge once a week, the ohme app / charger has worked fine each charge.
I will not be changing back to to ICE any time soon.
@Rhodgie, thanks for the tip, i’ve worked out how to get the battery preconditioning for rapid charging to work, will take a trip an extra couple junctions on the M4 to a rapid charger soon, so i know what to expect when we go to Gatwick.
I ordered at the end of June, ultimate with tech pack & heat pump and light colour seats. Fortuneatly (or unfortunately) i had a call 2 week ago that they had one coming in on a vessel (true or not i don’t know).
Picking it up this afternoon.
Am a little bit dissapointed its not a my25, but it is the car i test drove and liked so no major dramas, and my current tiguan has spent more time in the dealership than in my posession since June. So it will be nice to (hopefully) not worry if the car will start, breakdown etc
Hi Kezo,
moved to Octopus from Utilita on the 24th of June, switch happened on the 27th of June, Once switched, was then offered various dates in July to swap the meters, 24th of July was the most convenient with work.
Hi All,
quick update, ordered car 24th of June, charger installed today, 3 week turn around.
Apparently my fuse will be changed at some point to a 100 amp.
New meters being fitted next Wednesday, so i can then change tariffs.
Just have to wait for the car to arrive (any time between Sept & Dec)
So glad i ordered mine (Ultimate with tech pack) last week. Just got to wait 3 months or so for delivery.
Hi Ele,
Have now completed survey, apparently a company called Plug in Stations will be in touch soon.
I think the actual install should be straight forward as the charger will be within 1.5m of the meter, hopefully they will fit an external consumer unit in the meter box to avoid drilling into the house.
Thanks @Kezo for the reply, have spoken with them this morning, apparently they are now charging for the longer cable with the home pro.
So i’ve gone for the epod, just got to go through the survey………… no massive rush as i’ve been quoted 3 months + for new car
Hi All,
quick question regarding the ohme charger, going through the process of ordering the charger and if i choose the teathered charger (Home pro) for the 8m lenght cable it will charge me £96, but if i choose the epod i can have the 8m cable for free, is that right?
Thanks,
Chris
