Anything i post over three lines long please assume it is an article lol.I have a bbc weather app on my phone and for years it’s been very accurate but recently, the last week or so, it’s been all over the place forecasting thunder and lightning 🌩️ heavy rain etc and we’ve actually had some bright sunshine with virtually no rain.☔️
So from now on I’m going back to looking out the window every half an hour 😂

He also told me that that it can take months for the DNO to complete the work 😞😞😞
They told me the charger was out for delivery and as soon as I receive it I will get an email giving me a choice of dates for the install.
Half an hour later I got a call from the Hyundai dealership telling me the car will be available from Thursday next week for us to pick up.

Ive phoned them to get timescales for the work and no one can tell me. I now have a case handler who will get back to me with some details but the girl I spoke to said they were very busy and it could take a while “maybe a month or so”.
😩😤😡

In my mind my granny charger was 5m so no problem with a 5m Zappi.
Ok so just go out and check, I said to myself, as the Ioniq 6 charge port is on the other side from the xc40.
Tape measure in hand and 5m isn’t long enough. I measure the granny charger and it’s just over 7m long 🤔
Ok so I will need a 7m long cable just to be safe. Contacted Bumblebee who tell me the Zappi comes with a max length of 6m but the Hypervolt comes with 10m.
So back out with tape measure and the 6m is just too short, no matter if I drive into my space or reverse.
So the Hypervolt 10m it is.
Who would have thought that 5m is so short?

Anything i post over three lines long please assume it is an article lol.I just checked and on my Hyundai Ioniq 6 its called Smart Cruise Control. So I googled what it does and google came back with this:-
How it works:
Adaptive Cruise Control:
The system uses sensors to track the distance and speed of the vehicle ahead.
Automatic Speed Adjustment:
It automatically adjusts the vehicle’s speed to maintain a safe following distance, slowing down or speeding up as needed.
Stop & Go Functionality:
In stop-and-go traffic, the system can bring the car to a complete stop and then automatically accelerate back to the set speed and following distance when the traffic starts moving again.
Reduced Driver Effort:
This feature significantly reduces driver fatigue, especially in congested traffic conditions.
Benefits:
Reduced Stress: Lessens the need for constant braking and accelerating in traffic.
Improved Safety: Helps maintain a safe following distance, potentially preventing rear-end collisions.
Enhanced Convenience: Offers a more relaxed driving experience, especially during long commutes or in stop-and-go traffic.
So looking forward to tinkering with it in the future 😂-

Anything i post over three lines long please assume it is an article lol.My XC40 plug in hybrid has standard cruise control so if I set it to 20 mph, that’s what it will provide. I look forward to getting adaptive cruise control on my next car which arrives next week.

Anything i post over three lines long please assume it is an article lol.Not sure if this is a tip as I’ve no data to prove if it works or not but I drive in cruise control almost all of the time. I do this no matter what speed I’m doing, needs to be over 20mph in my Volvo.
I think it started when I moved from a manual car to an automatic as I found driving an automatic boring and the switching on and off of cruise control gave me something to get involved with.
If you watch the dash it shows less energy being used when using cruise control compared to not when running at the same speed.

As I’ve been contacted by Ohme and Bumblebee I’ve no idea who I will end up with hopefully Bumblebee🤞
@Kezo if I get to choose I will be going for the Zappi and I will make sure its version 2.3 for intelligent tariff connectivity. It will be positioned on a north west or north-facing wall so shouldn’t have any overheating problems. The only person who got all his work done by Friday was Robinson Crusoe.

Anything i post over three lines long please assume it is an article lol.July 17, 2025 at 3:31 pm in reply to: Just ordered a Hyundai Ioniq 6 £250 off and a free V2L charger. #309773Just received an email from “Bumblebee” saying they will be in touch with me within the next three days with a link to the home survey they require before fitting the charger.
They have given me three chargers to choose from namely
1:waEV-charge
2:Hypervolt Home Pro 3
3:MyEnergi Zappi V2
Strangely I received a similar email from Ohme saying the same thing but with the two Ohme chargers.
After a quick look it would seem it’s a straight choice between option 2 and 3, with option 3 the favourite.
Both are solar comparable so either would do.
Has anyone any experience of either if the two choices?
I am hoping the Bumblebee email isn’t an error as I would prefer the choice they are giving me.
