@Rene it shows how to change the brightness and much more in this YouTube video.

A lot of info guys who would have thought there could be so much detail in detailing.

I gave it a wash yesterday to get rid of the bird 💩 from holiday and looks pretty good.

I like the bright screen so I’ve kept it tbh I wasn’t aware there was a choice.

@KamKam, I will be having a look at all the tech in the car but will pay particular attention to the options on the satnav. There’s a huge amount of tech and options many of which I will never use so will prioritise the basics, telephone, aircon, heated seat’s etc then have a look at other bits and pieces as they come up.

@GloGuy I will have a look at that. It didn’t bother me too much but the wife was starting to panic and strangely it suddenly appeared to be my fault 😂. As always she was right as it was me who pressed the button to start the route .

So round trip of 160 miles producing an efficiency of 4.1. Conditions were near perfect for both journeys so I think this is about the best result for this type of journey. I reckon 4.3 might be the best I get for local journeys but still early days and if it stays this way I will be happy.

Here I was banging on about the sat nav and how good it was then today it took me through every village, every B road and a couple of roads that would be best described as as dirt tracks 😤😤😩😩

@ajn I was particularly impressed by it as further down the beach the sand is very dry and loose and it went over it with no problem at all.

@ DougieB it won’t be everyone’s choice but if you like it it’s one hell of a car and the AP is ridiculously cheap and that’s before some fantastic discounts that are on offer. Add to that there are many in stock so a week or so delivery is common.

I would take the wife for a test drive in one and see how she feels. The Ultimate has every bit of tech you need and my wife loves the interior, we have the light grey option which makes it feel even bigger than it already is. My grandkids think it’s fantastic with my grandson, in particular, loving it.

Can’t remember where I saw it but there is a battery pack either available just now or “coming soon” ( how often have we heard that) that is a mix of sodium and lithium batteries. The thinking is that when weather is really cold the sodium batteries would kick in and run the car as they are good down to minus 40 *C

@Rene the wing mirror thingy is an absolute nonsense but it’s an added extra at about £1,000 so no chance of getting by accident.

I wasn’t sure what you meant by “i never felt like i was actually in control, more like the car “let me drive it”.

Another thing that impressed me was the satnav. My XC40 satnav was always a bit too late with instructions. I lost track of the number of times I was in the wrong lane when approaching a round about but with this one it was always well in advance. That leads me onto the heads up display HUD, absolutely brilliant, I’ve never had it in a car before but what a great addition.

Does the reduced range when putting the air con on put you off using it? I believe the 12 volt battery in the Ioniq 6 delivers the heat to the steering wheel and the seats so doesn’t really affect the range. Looking on some Hyundai websites many just use the heated seats and steering wheel in the winter to help their range. My good lady wouldn’t have any of that, if the air cons on it’s on full she only seems to understand on and off and nothing in between 😂

That’s pretty encouraging that 4 seems to be the norm. I can’t believe how easy it is to go fast in this car, as I said on another thread I’m a very slow driver, normally, but was way over 70 without noticing it even with the bings and bongs. Worryingly I’ve started to ignore them.

the heat pump seems to help as well had the air con on for the entire journey.

@ Rhodgie those figures are pretty good, I’ll be happy if that’s what I get.

                                              @Declan
your winter efficiency is really poor bordering on shocking. Is that the norm for your make of car?

Scratched 😩 yes it takes a bit of getting used to and with the bonnet sloping away from you it’s difficult to gauge exactly where the front of the car is.

Strangely with so many bings and bongs I would have expected an alert when getting so close to the kerb but there was nothing. My old XC40 would definitely have alerted me to the close proximity of the kerb 😞

Its strange I’m on holiday and all I can think of is getting back in the car for the journey home 😂
