Hi everyone. I have sorted out my broadband and stopped a friend/neighbour using my IP to post on this site and I am sorry for any issues it may have caused, particularly on the Brexit threads.

I’m not a fan of winter so I have retreated to our loft and spent the past two months putting together a 16×4 foot model railway. Addictive, but almost finished to the relief of my wife who will get to see me again?

That model sounds great fun and I’m sure will keep you amused for years and I envy you.

In my early married years I always had the dream of building a model railway but it was simply too expensive, what with feeding the kid’s too.

Once into my fifties and before becoming disabled I started to think about a model garden railway but the garden is the wife’s domain so thought better about it.

Then middle aged hit me and now with no kids to look after and having more money to spend I thought I need something to keep me occupied so it was the model railway or learn to do something new.

They say middle age men go for either a model railway, motor bike or a Fender Stratcaster ? so I went for the Strat and was learning to play that when disability hit me so put an instant end to that and model railway building would have been so frustrating with just one hand to hand.

Today with the short time learning to play the guitar I’ve switched to one hand piano keyboard playing and after ten years of self taught playing can make the keyboard sound musical, sometimes, but I still have that dream of a model railway.?

Have fun up in the attic.
