Hi tia for reading and a newbie here, hope your all well and good, well as good as you can be ??.

I ordered my first motability vehicle from Volkswagen on the 3rd of august, and on the 7th of august it changed to with the factory, well that’s now where it’s stayed.

How have you guys experienced with wait times from Volkswagen, good and bad opinions will all be very welcomed.

Off the scheme, my Mini Electric Hatchback Level 1 was ordered in mid December 2021 and is expected to be delivered w/c Monday 27th June 2022, following numerous delays.

Following my test drive in the Arkana R.S Line 1.6 E-Tech, the salesman told me to expected delivery within 7 months if ordered soon.

2009 ordered a volvo V70 July , was driving it early September.

2012 ordered a BWM X1 June, was driving it late September

2015 ordered a Ford Focus ST July, was driving it mid October

2018 ordered a VW Golf est GTD, had to cancel as my chosen colour was discontinued, VW did not tell me and just changed my order to white pearl(most expensive colour they do) at their cost.  back then they had a order system that kept you in the loop.  even though i cancelled my order the car was eventually made by May 2019 so 10 months, i was able to find a Honda Civic which i ordered Dec 18 and collected Dec 18,

ordered a VW ID3 Sept 21, status 10 on order which i believe means order accepted by factory, i have a indicative build date of week 39 2022 so if that build plan is met im guessing a pick up late October so approx 13-14 months

Ordered a Vauxhall Grandland Elite in early January 2022, was told May-June delivery, spoke to them 10 days ago and they say looking more like September-December time, spoke to them again a day later and they said It’ll be January 2023, Evans Halshaw Vauxhall Newport (not that it appears it is THEIR fault specifically)

 

Went to Wessex Hyundai Newport and inquired about Ioniq, Kona, Bayon and was told September for most of them at the earliest, dealer stated that it I wanted a Tucson (colour depending) I could have one by the middle of May, cancelled my vauxhall order on 29th of April and confirmed collecting my Tucson 1.6 TGdi SE Connect on Friday ?

 

Goes to show that if you are willing to consider alternatives and shop around, you can still get a hold of something reasonably quickly.

Ordered my new MINI at the start of Feb this year, was told by dealer would probably not be hear untill June/July. After order went in I got a date early June. Recently that has been updated to middle of September. I am lucky as I still have my present car. Some people are stuck with an unsuitable vehicle or none at all.
