      Hi, not new to the forum but cannot recall username or password so have registered again! The forum is as always forever helpful.

      Ive just signed up for a Volvo xc40 petrol automatic soft hybrid in Pearl white after a great test drive and excellent service from ‘Ben’ at Crawley showroom. Was a little tempted by the pale blue but it seemed a little too flat for me and I always love white! Felt very informed, valued and happy with our choice. May date given but I’m not banking on that but was assured to contact him anytime for updates. Seamless application accompanied by coffees.
      Currently have a Peugeot 3008 and will be happy to wave it goodbye but my other half not as much so! ?

        Just picking up on CJM’s post again.. I do remember a few weeks back my Dealer saying he had EX amount of cars delivered and 2 customers turned up to collect theirs and they hadn’t been loaded, they were in the “sheet” but been forgotten on the loader, they arrived the next day. Ps… Retail not MB Talk about incompetence 🤨

        After all the woes we’ve had to endure .. so far .. I’m definitely thinking that our orders are being given nowhere near the same level of attention/service compared to Volvo’s retail sales. And they’re getting badly treated I know, but not even close to Motability customers. I’d definitely say it was prejudice. 😒

          Half of me is thinking I can’t complain/kick off yet as my car isn’t actually late as of yet, I was told 4-6 months from December 29th which gives them until late June

          The other half of me is very cross, and my anxiety is through the roof with the lack of communication and “lies” the being made a fool of like I’m an idiot. Being kept in the dark.
          Just be honest and you will get more respect.

            Thank you all for your comments, I do not know how any of the experience this morning was reality, I mean I really cannot stress how bizarre and infuriating it was in equal measure. Stern words were shared with the dealership put it that way.

            To answer some questions, the sales person we were originally dealing with left the Volvo dealer.. so that hasn’t helped. But our new sales guy was in touch weeks ago with some updates, albeit a lot of them through our own chasing. But nevertheless we still got to the point of a confirmed car collection – how does that even happen??

            Also, I forgot entirely about the Motability PIN and confirmation email which should have been through – which never arrived, which in hindsight would have been telling something wasn’t quite right. But, the handover was due to take place in the dealerships schedule up untit 20 minutes before the time.

            A general update of the fruitless “hunt” in the compound revealed that the car was not there – shock. And to add insult to injury, the car has NOT even been built. It’s not even scheduled for build for another 4 weeks. How this has happened, again, I do not understand.

            You realise as a Motability customer how little leverage you have when things go wrong, they ultimately don’t care. But, we will cancel unless they can find a stock car we will be able to adopt which they’ve said they’re looking into. All in all, I cannot stress how deflating this experience has been.

              Cjm23 – Sorry to hear all bad news today. The fact you’ve been asked to pick up a car that hasn’t even been build is astounding. What date did you order?
              I’ve just emailed our dealer at Gloucester to ask for an update from my order on the 4th December and if we can just swap to a stock car too. If you get an answer can you let us know? UncJ and I are both waiting here with no news.

                I’ve asked 3 different Volvo dealers about a stock vehicle and they all say the same thing. Now all cars are controlled by Volvo UK and not the dealership a fleet/motability customer cannot get a stock vehicle and all cars must be a new factory build.

                cjm23 – That’s by far the worst experience for a Motability customer so far, that’s awful for you. 😳

                  cjm- I am absolutely gutted for you!!!

                  I’ve already asked if I can just have a stock car too but I can’t as we are “fleet” customers 🤨🤨🤨

                      cjm- I am so sorry 😔 to read about your experience.

                      I had an  unexpected phone call yesterday. The very first call I’ve had from the dealership without me making contact to say “I’m trying to sort something out for you in the background with regards to the delivered car, give me some time and I’ll be in touch”.

                      Am I getting my hopes up, absolutely! do I believe what I’m being told. Not quite as sure, trying to remain positive that we will all have our cars soon.

                        This so baffles me! If we order something with certain specs as the MY24 that it seems ok by Volvo to supply something different without any discussion?! With two neck fusions I need a 360 camera but understand it’s not on the My25. I’m at a what where and how now even more than a when! We were supposed to have our car now and yet it’s got a presumed build date of sometime in May. What a shambles.

We were supposed to have our car now and yet it’s got a presumed build date of sometime in May. What a shambles.

                          With you on that. I can barely turn my neck (ankylosing) and apart from comfort, the 360 cam was perfect. Dealer told me they’re getting a mixture of 24’s and 25’s delivered so don’t hold out hope for a MY24 and I will likely get a MY25 in July. MY25 comes with blind spot assist and front and rear cameras still.

                          I like sitting outside RAF bases all day pretending to be a photogramapher

                            It just seems you enter a contract whether it be with Motability or Volvo for a car with x y and Z and you’re given a car with a b and c without any consultation! I don’t go into curry’s to collect my pre ordered fancy fast spin washing machine and happily accept one with a much slower spin just because they assumed I would and they could! It’s the principle of it that really grates me!

                              I think I just email him to make sure he doesn’t forget me 🤣

                              He’s promised I’m getting the MY24 this month… what’s his promise worth is another story eh! 😥🤨🤔

                                Exactly this! It’s insane you order something but get something completely different! I know the MY25 has rear and front cameras but I too need the 360,

                                Ive been promised the MY24 but that means nothing to me 🤦🏽‍♀️😥

                                      I saw my first 24 plate XC40 in my village today, my head nearly spun off! I wanted to follow her and ask which dealer she got it from and was she a private sale haha, but I was on the school run and my children said “that’s a bit crazy mummy” 😂😂

                                          I appreciate your situation and if you need to find a dealer that can supply a car to you quickly, I will completely understand.

                                          Motability have currently removed Volvo as a brand from its offering because of this situation and the dealers not being able to check order progress etc so I believe it is something that is being worked on.
                                          Please let me know your thoughts. I will let you know once it has arrived so that we can work on getting it to you in a timely manner.

                                                  Mrs L83- I need to get my Crystal Ball out! 🔮
                                                  I’ve just joined the FB page for Motability Scheme Information Support Group UK and see some orders have arrived. Maybe there’s hope!!

                                                  Decided earlier that our orders may not be even built and stuck in Volvos computer system somewhere. We need Volvo HQ and  Motability to issue a statement to us all so we can make an informed decision.

                                                      Thanks for all the updates my fellow Volvo sufferers. As i thought with Johnsons Gloucester @nshaw. As I’ve said before, the dealers haven’t a clue and finally he’s admitted that in writing. I despair. 😞

                                                      Sorry to rub salt in the wound guys, but I came across this that was posted this week. Took me ages to find but got there in the end. Take a look at the photos in the article of all the many thousand of unwanted Chinese milk floats just dumped there. Many of which are of course made by Volvo themselves. 😱

                                                        Exactly this. How would we pressure them for this though? Motability should be the first point of contact but I doubt they care from experience.
