Hi, not new to the forum but cannot recall username or password so have registered again! The forum is as always forever helpful.
Ive just signed up for a Volvo xc40 petrol automatic soft hybrid in Pearl white after a great test drive and excellent service from ‘Ben’ at Crawley showroom. Was a little tempted by the pale blue but it seemed a little too flat for me and I always love white! Felt very informed, valued and happy with our choice. May date given but I’m not banking on that but was assured to contact him anytime for updates. Seamless application accompanied by coffees.
Currently have a Peugeot 3008 and will be happy to wave it goodbye but my other half not as much so! ? - CreatorTopic

I ordered my XC40 mild hybrid early January 2024, advised via email yesterday, still on track for early/mid April 2024.
Hopefully, that’s good news @Sunflower12.
A friend who ordered on Jan 15 was told last week that it was on track for late April or early May. I ordered on Jan 20 (same dealership different salesperson) and have heard nothing.

I haven’t heard anything about mine yet but I hope yours comes when they say, I’m looking forward to mine whenever it arrives!

AnonymousI cancelled ours due to zero communication and the dealer being quite snotty and thinking about just generally having to deal with them if there were any issues down the line. Hope you all get yours quickly though

Good on you, vote with your feet ??
"Come on BYD Seal!"March 13, 2024 at 11:02 pm #268385Well, latest from the XC40 forum doesn’t sound good .. if it’s true..
2 posts from a user named “BlackStar66”:-
“ I spoke to our dealer this afternoon and there are no XC40’s being built until May 2024 with deliveries from mid August to late October this is all models”
And..
” I believe it’s the change over to 2025 model and reconfiguration of the factory to include the EX30”
Now I’ve found the info over there pretty accurate since I’ve started following it but I’m hoping this info is false, but .. somehow I really don’t think it is. I’m just hoping that anyone who has ordered a MY24 car has had the car built because otherwise, and I’m in this category myself, it really doesn’t look good. Getting any info from official Volvo sources & honest updates from dealers is in short supply as we know. ☹️?
March 14, 2024 at 11:12 pm #268448Reading some of the comments about Volvo, I agree in my experience are the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life in any form of sales. Borderline shambolic.

According to the website, the estimated delivery was 3-6 months when I ordered on Jan 20. It later went to 5-7 months in February and I notice today it has now come down to 4-6 months. Going by these estimates, the delivery estimates seem to be now coming down.
Who knows! Certainly the dealership I ordered with seems to be very bad at supplying information.
March 15, 2024 at 7:42 am #268452The thing is with their estimates they are just that, they’ve clearly had a problem with the ports at both ends of the car’s journey and a problem with a lack of car transporters but from what I understand it’s not so much of a problem now.
jOhn, I ordered my car the first week of December so you’re in the same boat as me in that you will (should!) receive a MY24 version XC40 when it finally arrives. As the factory has closed, if that’s true, in preparation for the MY25 models then *all* MY24 vehicles of all XC40’s have to have been built by now by my reckoning so it ‘should” all be down to waiting for the cars to arrive at dealers.
Trouble is with the dealers, and I know some are worse than others, I don’t think they really know what’s going on and that Volvo keep them in the dark with very little information or updated being offered. It’s frustrating. Awaiting contact from my dealer today to try and confirm what’s happening. He’s been pretty good so far but seems to have as much information as we do. ☹️
March 15, 2024 at 1:32 pm #268497Just been informed by dealer that my car should be with them by end of March or Early April. We shall see …
March 16, 2024 at 6:27 am #268530Ive had mine for just over 3 years B4 AWD, great car but 26-28mpg on a motorway is the best i can get and 18-20mpg around town. Low fuel light comes on halfway between 1/4 and 1/2 a tank….very poor for a “hybrid” Previous model without a huge battery pack to lug around was much better i believe.
March 17, 2024 at 9:07 am #268594Maybe Temu have bought out Vulva??
March 17, 2024 at 5:49 pm #268644I’ve been in touch with my dealer / salesperson and they’ve said they’re still told it’s end April / early May. Hope so! Time will tell! I ordered mid January 2024.

That seems to tie in with what I was told too then. I wouldn’t hold my breath though because they can’t even offer clarity by saying where the car actually is. Can’t tell me if it’s built, can’t tell me if it’s in Belgium or Bristol port. Can’t tell me anything other than an “expected” delivery to dealer date. ☹️?
March 21, 2024 at 1:55 pm #268936FYI:
Just received a video message from the Volvo Dealership. They now say the expected arrival of the vehicle ordered on 15/1/2004 will be late April to end of May. That’s pushed back slightly from late April/Early May.March 21, 2024 at 2:00 pm #268937For those of us who ordered in January do you think we will get a MY24 car or MY25 with upgraded seats and blind spot assistance ? I am in two minds whether to cancel or re-order as I am not in a hurry for mine .

MY24 car my dealer has confirmed.

I agree with @Uncj – you will get the car that you ordered and that would have been a MY24.

Yes, with the Volvo agency operation you can’t even change the colour of your car or add any extras once the order is initially placed never mind anything else. I tried and was told I’d have to cancel the order and start all over again, crazy. Never had this problem before with changing colour choice with other manufacturers so long as the car hasn’t been allocated a build slot.
Also, as the factory in Belgium is currently closed for re-tooling for MY25 models and not reopening until May any MY25 versions probably won’t be supplied & shipped to the UK until at least August I’d reckon.
March 21, 2024 at 8:20 pm #268963I’d love one – but alas I need an AWD non-electric vehicle
April 1, 2024 at 3:50 pm #270694Seems the XC40 petrol mild hybrid has been removed from the new quarter’s listing.
Anybody received any more updates on their orders? Already looking like the last week in March – early April delivery date I was told is the usual Volvo nonsense, ?
April 1, 2024 at 5:27 pm #270716I’ve been advised recently my XC40 is still on track for early-mid April delivery to dealership. Fingers crossed…
April 3, 2024 at 2:14 pm #271389Hi all, I’m new to this forum and thought I’d share my experience with you all, also I have found the thread very informative (more so than my dealer)
I ordered my XC40 on 29th December 2023 from Rybrook Volvo in Preston, all went well the deal was done in under half hour! I paid £500 deposit personally & used my £750 new car payment
I was given a timescale of 3 months..In January the advanced payment went down by £500 so I was advised to cancel that order and re order saving myself £500
I did this on 2/2/24 being told it would not affect my order due date (that I’ve never actually had) just an approximate month, which was Late March
Since this, the lad who took my order left Rybrook, I was passed to another lad.. Who left!
Now I’m on my 3rd Chap, who cannot give any information as he doesn’t have it from Head office, all he could say last time we spoke is he had order numbers that were coming in but NO names against the orders?! So couldn’t tell me if one was mine.
They don’t contact me.. well I suppose because they have nothing to say! No info at all.
I contact him, (feel like I’m pestering) but most the time I get no call back,Like I said, contact is abysmal but on the other hand he doesn’t contact me as he knows nothing of what’s going on (his words, head office don’t send the info down)
So in all honesty I’ve no idea what’s going on, I’ve tried to call today as obviously we are past late March, but I’ve had no return call as yet.
Has anyone actually received their 24 Volvo yet?
Many Thanks.April 3, 2024 at 2:15 pm #271392April 3, 2024 at 2:54 pm #271395Oh dear, seems to be a recurring theme with Volvo. ☹️
I ordered first week in December. Have to say my dealer has been great and always gets back to me but .. they dont really know much either. Car should have arrived by now but nope.
April 4, 2024 at 1:53 pm #271525Thought this may be useful to others who have also ordered a Volvo XC40 around the same time as myself-early January 2024. My Dealership has just contacted me with an update on my order to advise that apparently, there is a delay to my early/mid April delivery owing to issues at the port of Zeebrugge. However, positive news is that my order is now visible on my dealership’s system so any movements can thus be tracked-so any updates from this point should be easy and forthcoming. I have to say the Motability specialist at my Dealership has, thus far, been extremely helpful and reliable.
