Hi All – I’m recently new to the scheme and applied for a Vivaro e life elite in June of this year. Was told by my local dealer should be before end of year for delivery and I paid the 4,499 upfront advance payment the day I ordered. I’ve heard nothing from the dealer and Vauxhall themselves fobbed me off when I contacted them direct by telling me they will work with the dealer etc to communicate with me more often to keep me updated on progress. At this point I have not even got a build slot. Anyone else having any luck getting one of these Vivaros?

Monty PythonHighly unlikely you’ll see your car before Winter 2023, I think those ‘e’ variants are being built in France alongside the tens of thousands electric vans being sold to couriers and fleet hire. Larger platforms from other manufactures like Ford, VW are around a 2 year wait now. Even smaller people carriers like Ford’s S Max etc are around 1.5 year lead time for some.
December 15, 2022 at 8:15 am #202610That’s disappointing to hear as my local dealer when I ordered assured me that new car orders were coming through quicker. I check online in a regular basis and one of these came up in Aston Vauxhall but when I enquired and advised I was a motability customer was told by the salesman that this was a “retail protected” vehicle and cannot be sold to motability even though it was brand new. By reading up on other Vauxhall model delivery times it seems they really don’t care about making motability customers wait. Pity as the vivaro suited myself and my family’s needs.
January 11, 2023 at 2:40 pm #205679Don’t Vauxhall have one of the longest lead times for Motability customers?

Dalehi I ordered a vauxhall vivaro e life elite January 2022 I was informed that I would have it may 22 then it was September 22 then I received the information that its build date was December delivery would be January 23 no I have been informed that I could be looking at September 23 if not next year when u contact vauxhall because you can’t get any information from your dealership the response you get from them is contact your dealership how is it possible that vauxhall can’t look into getting the information and how is it vauxhall are taking so long to build and ship to the dealerships for the customers but yet if u order any other models they are built and shipped within months
January 11, 2023 at 3:21 pm #205699@Dale your getting the same excuses that I’m getting. Stellantis/Vauxhall customer services are usless. They just don’t care. Last update I got in Jan was no build slot and Vauxhall will fufil the order even though the Elite spec was pulled this month by MB. The dealer thinks “maybe” June/July for it to arrive.
January 11, 2023 at 4:34 pm #205710
Dale@Rik33 it’s absolute nonsense how they can advertise a vehicle and then not deliver until almost 18months but vw I looked at that ordered the vehicle 30 minutes after leaving the show room I received a phone call to confirm the order and was told that we would be looking at 2024 before we see the vehicle
January 11, 2023 at 4:59 pm #205715Its a disgrace the way private sales are being prioritized over MB. MB themselves dont care either when you call and ask can they help in any way. I’m annoyed I paid the 4,495 upfront payment on order already for a vehicle I’ll be lucky to see in a year or more.
January 11, 2023 at 8:46 pm #205746Why did you pay the whole AP up front? Was it due to pressure from the dealer?
January 11, 2023 at 11:32 pm #205768No I decided at time of placing my order I’d rather just get it paid and sorted there and then. Especially with the dealer telling me orders are coming in quicker. I should of held off as it looks like it will be a year or more wait
January 12, 2023 at 12:23 pm #205812
SmoggyYeah we have one on order since May.
Tbh our dealer was spot on and despite Vauxhall’s lead time showing 10 month at the time he said straight up I wouldn’t hold your breath on getting it before the back half of 2023
From a post on Vauxhall’s ev forums I know of 1 family who ordered in December 21 and still no build date.
I’m not optimistic we will even see it in 2023.
Unfortunately there is no other option at all on the scheme these days.
Have left our order for the time being of the van + turny Evo chair whilst we await new wheelchair assesment.
If the new WC still has a degree of foldability then I might look at one of the 7 seat options and a roof box for the chair for the rare occasion the whole family goes out together and I would need to use the 6/7 seats.
Unfortunately a wav isn’t an option and is something I’ll be staying away from as long as physically possible. We had a VW transporter side entry that we cancelled the lease on after just 1000 miles of daughter travelling, she simply didn’t feel safe travelling in wheelchair so became massively anxious and self injurious.

StefI order my elife elite exactly 1 year ago to the day. I was told July/Aug ’22, then Oct ’22, then Jan ’23. I spoke to them last week after about 100 phone calls, for the guy to ring me back and say we weren’t a priority that’s as far as he knew they’d ordered 10 of these in 2 years and only had 3 built in 3 years.
He advised me to ” wait or buy private, cause I’m looking at least another 12-18 months for it”.
What a joke!!
But I guess this may be necessary, I’ll have had my current motability for 5 years this year and as far as Ive been told you aren’t allowed to keep them much after that. Talk about being backed I to a corner
January 13, 2023 at 12:21 pm #205973
SmoggyThat really doesn’t sound great Stef.
Makes me think what to do.
As I say we terminated daughters VW transporter last may and have been running a 2011 Mazda 6 estate since. In that period we could have used the actual van maybes twice as a family for days out and 1 of my kids had to jump in a friend’s vehicle who was going with us.
My eldest are 15 and 13 now though so these days are becoming less and less.
Most day trips as a whole family are local enough that possibly can even do 2 runs as well.
Then when I throw in her spines deterioration which she has now lost the ability to walk (she could previously plod holding a hand) but can still weight bare then we may end up back at that situation of needing a wav and just having to manage daughter’s behaviours when travelling before we even see the vivaro.
I might just see what big 5 seat estates are on the scheme and their potential lead times.
If only the Japanese imports weren’t so thirsty as I’d jump at a Toyota alphard welcab in a heartbeat but looking at around 20-22 mpg from the 3.0 V6 petrols.

Emmab2001Ordered ours March 22 told delivery by Sept 22 guess what still not even a build date like most! Our dealer said maybe the summer or late 23
Our current car we have had 5 years in Feb and they have said we just remain in the car? Is this right and will they let us of the van could be another 12 months? We are holding on as our ap was low at £2999 and the elite is no longer on the schemeWe have looked at the new BMW and seeing the alpha tomorrow as we are fed up of waiting also so much has changed in the last 12 months with electric charging too
February 23, 2023 at 3:48 pm #210163
MrsDisneyI just feel so let down by dealership and motability. We will be waiting 14 months on 9th of March on our vivaro elite (electric). Currently driving a mitsubishi outlander but daughters wc has to b folded flat and put lying in boot, plus I have arthritis and having to lift her chair in and out is getting harder for me. At this stage we are just thinking of going private and using her motability money to pay for it plus insurance.
February 24, 2023 at 5:19 pm #210305
SmoggyFeel your frustration mrsdisney.
Due to wheelchair services finally giving daughter the proper.wheelchair she should have had years ago it simply won’t fit in the vivaro boot so had to cancel the order 8 month down the line.
Now we have no option but a wav vivaro, trafic, custom type size wav.
Ford order book closed, Renault order book closed, VW closed, Citroen closed, Peugeot closed. The only brand taking orders are vauxhall but only in the low spec which even then are taking 18m.
Not a single wav manufacturer can even put an order in let alone get a hold of one.
And due to the last 3 years of covid supply issues chips etc and motability having a massive change of how they release returned wavs there just aren’t any nearly new ones getting to dealers. Allied for eg have a waiting list 50 long for the size we need which at the rate they have been getting wavs gives an estimate of 9-12 month for a nearly new.
The whole larger family or larger wav is absolutely decimated.
The frustrating thing is motability know this, they know how tight the industry is especially on these things and these are needs not wants.
Without disrespect to others disabilitys you can drive pretty much anything in the short term so it’s ok to wait.
There are dozens upon dozens of e vivaros etc that where used as showroom models/demos with 1-4000 miles on them that surely motability could come to some agreement to purchase and bring into the fleet.
We are in the position where daughters wheelchair when she gets it on 7th march is having to go straight to school and stay there I can’t physically fit it in a Mazda 6 estate.
And it’s find 20k for a used tourneo custom or wait 12-18m on top of the 8m already waited for converters to start getting vehicles again.

HuskyWe went to look at dealership last month. we had been trying to view one for the last year and noone even had a used vehicle. checked everywhere within a 30 min drive of us.
Then randomly saw a old elite pretty banged up at dealership to be told straight off He had placed 2 orders dec 2021 and jan 2022 theres no build time for them yet.So if we ordered expect at least a 2 year wait.
apparently they are being made in spain currentlyOrdered a citreon space tourer instead as have been told 6 months

MarkI ordered my vivaro on 12th December 2021 and it’s has finally been built 25th feb 2023 just waiting for it to be delivered to the dealership hope that helps anyone that ordered the same time.
April 12, 2023 at 12:08 pm #218786Just an update on this. Still no build date, but I have been keeping an eye on dealer websites and autotrader for any new unregistered vivaro e lifes to pop up. A black brand new e life ultimate (was the elite previously) turned up in Lookers Birmingham. I called my dealer also Lookers to see if I could have that….. And the answer was no. Lookers Birmingham do not want to release the car to mobility. So it is back to waiting again as Mobility cannot help and it is up to the supplying dealer.

DavidOrdered mine in February 2022 told expected delivery in August 2022, this then changed to October 2022. November 2022 told February 2023 and now I’ve been told June 2023….dealers just do not have the courtesy of keeping customers in the loop, they don’t phone because it’s inevitably bad news. Surely this is against trading standards and is basically misrepresentation regarding the lead times and subsequent delivery.
May 3, 2023 at 4:06 pm #220573@david what gets to me if you look on autotrader there is a few vivaro e life’s basic spec and elite (now ultimate) either with a few hundred miles on the clock and basically brand new or brand new which the dealers will not sell to motability. I dont think I’ll ever order another Vauxhall again.
May 21, 2023 at 12:33 pm #221948
Mark AllmanHi ordered same vehicle in march 22. Just been notified its on ship as of now. good luck.
May 26, 2023 at 10:19 am #222441Another update on this… So a new vivaro e life Ultimate in white has turned up in Lookers Selly Oak Birmingham. Again called my Lookers dealer and asked could I have that. And the excuse is now that Lookers do not let dealers take stock from other dealers and if I want this Vivaro I have to cancel my order with my dealership AP was £4,495 in July 22 and apply again via the Selly Oak dealership and pay the new AP of £7,999. Still no build date for my order. Back again to the waiting game.

TracieHi , I ordered a e life elite vivaro March 22.. no communication at all till sept 22 when was told significant delays. Then no further communication until last week when they rung and said it has arrived.. so they are trickling thru slowly now
June 23, 2023 at 9:40 pm #224248
Amandaorder our electric vivario elife March 22, firstly we were told 7 months then 12 and now we are being told… by the time they make your care, 2 basic cars can be made so we will not be prioritised.
to be this is discrimination, my disabled partner cannot leave the house until we get this car. So upsetting. Our next step is human rights and raising the issue/letting the public know.
