I know a few of us are eagerly awaiting delivery of these so thought I’d make a thread so we can all keep track of updates etc

Ordered ultimate Misty jungle (with light leather) on 9th November. Delivery slated for end of March. Dealer has had no update yet.

Do we know how the Kona guesstimates the range – is it always based on a rolling average or is it % of battery and the mode you are in – I assumed it was the rolling average.

well an improvement today as car is just finished its charge. it says ive 287 miles from 90% charge, so its up 12 miles from last one. must be being good, of course not been running the air con tbh much last week. added about 3 quid to the bill i guess but it only put in 17% at 3.6kw/h. lower mileage this week too, as im trying to be a tight scotsman lol

I’m originally from London, but equally frugal with money, in certain regards. I would like to think, by aiming for better energy consumption we are doing our bit for the environment.

Having tracked her voyage West from Ulsan, through the Suez Canal, into Piraeus, through the Straits of Gibraltar and across the Bay of Biscay, I can see that MV Morning Lady is not in the English Channel and due into Tilbury this evening.

Exciting times for those who are expecting their vehicles to be onboard.

Well tracked Sigma – I remember the realisation of being in the home stretch well – hopefully you will get confirmation of your VIN soon – then it will be all the repeat checks of what you need to learn and do – pleased for you and others who are hopefully about to have confirmation that their car is finally in the UK  – happy times ??

Exciting times,  I remember when our ship was en route we even managed a pic from a webcam off the coast of Kent. If it docks later today, you could have it in about 3 weeks.

Not sure about that fwippers – 7 then we wake up ?? Alternatively we could live on a hill and ignore the averages ??

I suspect it is possible in ideal conditions, a light foot and an extremely frugal mind set – but not sustainable.   But a nice thought!

I fitted my wind deflectors for front and back windows – I may well go on a longer run next week – so will be interested to see how they perform, especially if it is raining.

I will give an honest opinion – if I think they are a waste of money (£36) – I will tell you – couldn’t get the ones recommended – but we will see.

with the deflectors top tip is do not wind window down below the bottom edge of defector. Other wise you may get drips blowing in, especially in heavy rain.

What brad did you go for in the end?

Hi joss – thanks for the tip.

Auto Clover was the only real choice – I decided I didn’t want chrome – but wanted full set – there were other brands but tended to be just front or back.
They are stick on – wouldn’t have been my first choice – the look however is good – it is 6 piece so the full sweep from front to back – the plastic is a satin finish – so neither Matt or gloss.

The attachment was more fiddly – alcohol wipes after washing with just water – as the car is new there was very little dirt and grime.
All lined up well apart from one slight – prob 2mm on line of driver front door to back door – and just like decorating your house your eye always go to the bits you were not 100% happy with, but no one else notices – I can live with that –  so finish I am happy with – now it is all about the performance – hopefully it will reduce need for a/c and demisting – time will tell ?

interesting that i wasnt even trying for good figures and was heading to a dental appointment and was tight for time. roads were fairly busy tho on return so that might have helped with return journey. ive no figures for the outward section. first time ive been in a dentist since about 6 months before covid started. apparently my home repairs were so good she just left them

As requested – yes I searched local Amazon (odd front or back – silly money – not prime) and eBay as well as uk suppliers – just run out and supply from Poland effected.

Hi fwippers – I will give you all an honest assessment, maybe after a month – depending on weather that should give a reasonable range of temperature moisture driving speeds etc.

In terms of fitting – if you were contemplating buying and applying – then I would suggest sooner rather than later – the instructions tell you to clean area thoroughly using water then two lots of alcohol wipes before applying – they then suggest car is not used for 12 hours – then you can use upto 60 mph over the next 48 before normal use.
They state clearly that there should be no moisture for 48 hours after fitting.
I checked forecast – no rain predicated – but this is UK – managed 36 hours before sprinkles – the optimum temperature is 20c.

In conclusion – lay everything out – take your time – ensure you have matched the fitting upto the car before peeling off tape and applying.

The hardest thing to control is temperature – it is easy enough to jam some plastic in the doors to keep them dry – or over the top of the car.

I think the over the top instructions are as much to appease the legal team as the customer – temperature tho as with most adhesives is important.

I hope this isn’t to much information and puts you off – would I recommend it to a reasonable confident diy-er YES.
But only time will tell as to their durability – but so far I am happy.

                                                      Woodlands

Hopefully this maybe of some use to drivers waiting for or just receiving their EV.

We have completed our regular Northwest to Hampshire and return journeys a few times now. Energy efficiency is not my priority – Cutting travel time and travelling in comfort are.

On long journeys, charging mid journey on the motorways is quite frankly, a joke. Gridserve chargers whilst good are ALWAYS occupied, no matter what time of day or night we travel. Unbelievably, whilst there are 2 CCS chargers on each unit, only one can charge at once.

If we were travelling abroad, I would use ABRP to plan my route and identify suitable charging points. I now do this on long journeys here. I know in advance the likely stopping places for the chargers I want to use, so monitoring my SOC doesnt lead to range anxiety.

In time things must improve – Large charging hubs like the one at Stirling will eventually arrive and Tesla chargers may soon become available to ordinary mortals, but in the mean time, plan ahead….
